Caffe Nero - Arndale Centre in Manchester

“Greeted” by a trainee barista with a “Yeah?” set the scene nicely. The coffee here is good but for a Manchester City centre coffee shop you get London quality impersonal service. I don’t want fawning, but a bit of pleasantness goes a long way to improving customer experience, costs nothing, and brings people back. Given the number of coffee outlets to choose from, I will go somewhere else next time.

Disgusting. Coffee was extremely watery, had to wait over half an hour to be able to drink it due to how hot it was. Un-hygienic, definitely do not recommend.

Food and drinks were okay with a better than expected selection. The whole place was just messy and untidy

Ordered a vegan sausage roll and an iced late with vanilla syrup. My sister ordered a frappe. I found 3 black hairs in my food. My sister found one in her drink. The only reason we didnt return the items to the cafe was cause there was only one member of staff and she was in a mood.

Absolutely offensive experience. Walked in today with my friend, Saturday 8th August at around 3.45pm to be presented with an absolutely ludicrous rule that customers must wear a face mask when queuing up for coffee and then may take them off when sitting down and eating. The male barista who was acting as if he had the legal authority to pass such a jurisdiction to me was unfriendly and lacked a severe amount of customer service. I was then told when simply expressing my initial first exposure of feeling that this rule was unfair (and I quote) : "if you're going to walk in with that attitude, you can go get served elsewhere." to which I responded OK. I left feeling patronised and as if we don't have any rights as paying customers. Shocking experience. I recommend you train your employees to a higher level because even though it was me this barista thought had an attitude problem, he really failed to see his own attitude problem and ability to deal with a customer complaint.

Se si vuole consumare un buon espresso o un buon té questo è il posto ideale. Il personale è gentile e il costo è inferiore a quello della maggior parte dei caffè inglesi (£1,85 il'espresso e £2,10 il té), Si consuma comodamente seduti e si ha a disposizione l'Wi-Fi gratis

Same as any other Cafe Nero, you get what it says on the tin. Couldn’t fault it but at the same time you know exactly what to expect. Staff were friendly enough.

Caffe Nero ist meine TOP KAFFEE-Kette. Leckerer Kaffee, nettes Personal, appetitliches Gebäck und eine Treuekarte, die sich selbst bei 4 Kaffees schon lohnt! Daumen hoch!

Giving it a 1 star is generous! The most disgusting toilets I have ever seen, I took photos and reported them further. The cleaning rota intimated they had been checked that morning at 9am I would say they hadn’t been cleaned for months. Missing toilet seat, grime/dirt/potential faeces around toilet, wet loo roll on pipes, no hand soap, broken and cracked hand drier, I could go on, I’m surprised they are allowed to operate with these unsanitary facilities. Do Not Use

Popped in for a quick drink and use the facilities..... it was unclean and both toilets were in need of a deep clean and new toilet seat in the gents. No soap grimy and dirty..... and the doors had more fingers marks then anything else. Not what you would expect of a Caffè Nero irrespective of it being in a City Centre or not.

Coffee was great but everything about the shop was grubby. Tables not cleared or cleaned regularly, floor felt sticky under foot. Don’t venture to the toilets, no loo roll, nothing to dry hands with, no soap, they stink and didn’t even have a toilet seat! Take away coffee recommended!

Nice little coffee shop just outside the Arndale Centre opposite Marks. There is upstairs seating and the bathrooms are up there but there is a disabled in the corner if you have mobility problems. Great tasting coffee. They do a loyalty card too which is stamped for each drink. Some good food choices too but bit on the dear side. It's nice for a treat. We got 2 coffees and 2 pastries and it was ten pounds.

I called in here yesterday with my daughter. We sat at a table upstairs. The place was busy as you would expect on a Saturday in the run up to Christmas, but our table was absolutely filthy, wet and sticky with what looked like jam or something similar. I sat and waited whilst my daughter fetched the coffees but didn't once see a member of staff clearing tables. In the end I took a few paper napkins myself and went into the loos to dampen them and use them to wipe the table. The loos were like a war zone. The handwash dispenser was hanging off the wall and the bag containing the handwash itself was just dumped on top of the bin. Neither of the two toilets had any toilet paper in and I had just used the last 2 napkins in the dispenser to clean the table. Thankfully I managed to clean our table and neither of us needed to use the loo but frankly the state of the place was appalling. Despite the coffee being good, there's no way I would go here again.

I have been a customer of this particular Caffé Nero in the past, but I was seriously grossed out by my most recent experience here. I was passing by, and popped in to use the bathroom upstairs. What I found were dirty facilities, a toilet seat broken at the hinges and nothing to PROPERLY wash your hands - the soap dispenser was not only empty, but had no bag in it what so ever, and looked like it hadn't been used for a long time. I mentioned to the member of staff that there was no soap and asked if there was any in the disabled toilets. There wasn't. When I asked how do the staff wash their hands after visiting the toilet he pointed to the hand sanitiser on the wall behind the counter! Meaning that not only is this a regular occurrence, but staff leave the toilet with dirty hands, touching numerous surfaces along the way AND potentially equipment behind the counter before cleaning their hands. GROSS! I dread to think what happens if one of them happened to 'go through the paper'. Needless to say, I will not be eating or drinking there again!

Coffee shops are much of a muchness these days, but Caffe Nero is my favourite of all the chains. I expect I've been in every Caffe Nero in Manchester at some point or other and this is one of the nicer ones. Due to its location, it's ALWAYS busy and it can be hard to find a seat, but it's still super convenient and the staff really do their best to get through the queues as quickly as possible whilst keeping the place as clean & tidy as is practicable.

Break from shopping started as a coffee and ended up with a meal. My wife had a chicken and ham carbonara which she rated as very good as was my lasagne. The service was very good and welcoming and the restaurant was clean with a reasonable choice on the menu. We both recommend a visit.

They surely can make good coffee, and the service is not bad, but I don't like how busy it gets sometimes.

This is a very well located Nero cafe which offers outside sitting. I also enjoyed the first floor sitting area with nice view over exchange square.
