Caffè Nero in Leeds

Excellent!!! normal Caffe Nero so. Kind helpful staff. And a very nice smart decor style design here. One if the very best Caffe Nero modern stylish nice. Very good I think. Nicely made coffee too. Many thanks.

Cafe and service is fine. Coffee good. My only problem, and this applies to most cafes, is the use of the word "regular". Large and regular. What happened to the word small? Why adopt a new Yanky word when we have a beautiful English word, small. Does regular mean medium? If it does then saying you have large and medium coffees doesn't make sense. Regular is applied to buses etc and bowel movements, not coffee. Update. 09/05/2025 Getting too big for its boots. In the past, when I've been asked if I want regular or large, I've usually replied, "I don't know what regular means," or "Small please." What does regular mean beyond bowels and buses? Recently this has led to several rude exchanges, culminating today with the barista screeching at me, " Regular, Large, Regular, Large," while pointing to a cup and a mug. Very rude. Perhaps one of the directors could explain to me why regular is preferred to small and what regular actually means. Rudeness to customers is not acceptable. There are many places to drink coffee.

Popular spot in Chapel Allerton, despite a recent paint up lift the place still looks tired and in need of a good overhaul. At times can be a little untidy but despite this a place to still visit.

Very great and cozy spot in Leeds. With 3 floors of seating and good amount of restrooms and ofcourse very good pastries and coffees. This has been one of the best cafe nero I have visited in past few years. Service from staff was great. Their interaction and support was very good. Ordered my usual latte and very intrigued pistachios cake. The staff went extra mile in asking for allergens which I have never witnessed in anyother nero.

Nice coffee shop with a few floors so plenty of tables to choose from. Staff were nice. Cappuccino was very nice

Emily was fabulous! Very informative and helpful. We ordered the pistachio cheesecake and said ‘just to let you know that has gelatine in it’. A very considered notification. I thanked her so much for this. I told her I had ordered this previously and hadn’t been told. I felt really appreciative to know this. She made our drinks great and was super friendly. Fab barista.

Nice place to sit outside and people watch. Wasnt great with the online order though as apparently they lost the ticket so it wasn't ready.

Great staff at this branch. Very attentive. It's on 3 floors, with the top floor being the largest. As always, great coffee. I much prefer the coffee at Nero than any of the other large chains.

With a heavy heart and sullied spirits, I pen this missive to thee. On a recent morn, I sought solace within thy hallowed establishment, yearning for the sweet embrace of a morning brew. Alas, what greeted mine lips was not the ambrosial nectar I so desired, but a chalice fouled by an odor most foul, akin to the stench of musty decay, that doth issue forth from a vessel left to languish in damp neglect. Such an offense to the senses doth mar the otherwise delightful repose thy cafe oft provides. Though mine experience was thusly tainted, I harbor no ill will, for I trust in thy diligence to rectify this grievous oversight. Pray, let this humble entreaty move thee to ensure thy vessels are tended with utmost care, that no other soul should suffer such an affront. I remain, with hope and goodwill

Stopped for a coffee with my husband yesterday after a show at the city varieties and just wanted to say what a thoroughly lovely fella the manager David is. It was quite quiet while we were there so we ended up having a great chinwag with him. He's a credit to Caffè Nero! (The manchester tash man and his wife😉😂👨🏻) xx

The staff here are truly lovely and attentive. Unfortunately, there was trouble with an individual coming in and causing a disturbance however this was handled well. The staff were unbelievably kind and made gorgeous drinks. Really wonderful people and a great place to come and work with friends :)

Louisan was so, so lovely. She made a lovely caramel latte, gave me a cafe Nero points card and just had a positive, friendly energy about her :) made my experience really nice and it was refreshing to see!

The standards of service in some branches of Cafe Nero are very poor. I ordered a coffee with caramel and they forgot the caramel. They only gave me one spoon for two coffee's despite asking for two!! When I asked for a tray, they told me they didn't have any at the moment.

Dear Nero, I am writing to formally express my severe dissatisfaction with the service I received at your establishment. I encountered a situation where your staff, specifically one Caucasian male and one Indian female, displayed a concerning lack of understanding and professionalism. Their attitude was not only unhelpful but also came across as arrogant and possibly discriminatory. I requested a large frappe latte, an item clearly listed on your menu, only to be incorrectly informed that such a size does not exist. This response was not only inaccurate but also dismissive. Furthermore, the male staff member made inappropriate comments about my accent and command of the English language, which I found deeply offensive and disrespectful. This incident has compelled me to report the matter to the authorities as a potential hate crime. It is imperative that such behavior is addressed immediately to prevent future occurrences of similar or worse incidents. All of the staff here are super lovely, my gift card wouldn't scan and the lady let me have the drink for free which made my day. The staff are super attentive and can't do enough for you, really cute atmosphere I often sit in here and do work. The only thing I would say is that the toilets are often unclean, but to be expected as they are public toilets.

Popped in for a Coffee Meeting and although it's quite a small facility it's very cosy and the Coffee was well done. Bonus mention is that there are power sockets for your devices by several of the seats.

Lulu was an absolute angel and made the quick coffee and cake stop a real pleasure. Give her a payrise, she's a ray of sunshine

Customer service was not great! Staff were just chatting away and on their phones for a while whilst there was a queue of people waiting to be served! No apologies or anything when they eventually got round to serving people. We were then told they were closing early once already seated with half hour notice (closing at 17 as opposed to 19:30 on the website) - no reason as to why there was an early close (it would be understandable if it was an unforeseen circumstance), this would have been fine also if we were told earlier as I think most people sit down in cafes for a bit longer than half hour?!

OK so a difficult one review as one member of staff a a short chap with no hair was extremely rude on more than one occasion. He first stood on his phone while we were waiting to be served then rudly told the other member of staff a nice tall guy with a black head scarf to get our order as he clearly couldn't be bothered. My son accidentally spilt a drink Upstairs and asked the rude guy for assistance, he came upstairs with some tissue and remarkably stood and watched as an elderly lady helped us clean the mess. I then went back to order something else and the rude guy left me standing at the till and served everyone behind me in the queue. The nice guy left what he was doing and came to serve me. I honestly feel bad for the nice guy having to work with such a rude arrogant person. I won't return here in a hurry. Someone give the nice guy a pay rise 😏

I usually quite enjoy coming to this specific store as I love atmosphere when sat on the balcony overlooking the street. Another view from the balcony is, unfortunately, the kitchen area. Once I purchased my coffee and headed upstairs, I noticed that all empty tables still had empty mugs and trays on them, and had not been cleared despite seeing all 4 members of the staff stood around at the till on entry. Thus I had to move this downstairs and ask another patron to watch my coffee while I gave it to the staff, where they asked me to prop the tray on top of the bin. 40 mins go by and the trays on the other tables were cleared only after the staff made time to count their tips behind the till. It is disappointing as I truly do enjoy the atmosphere that this specific store provides. I hope to see this improved in the near future.

Probably the worst customer service I have received in a long time. When I asked if i could have the froyo frappe the lady serving us replied in a very monotone, slow tone "I don't know" then proceeded to turn and look at the board showing the drink selection and made it sloppily with no care on presentation or cleanliness as it was poorly made. My sister ordered a pistachio iced latte and was met with the question of having rich or smooth coffee however, the lady serving didn't even turn around or obtain eye contact and once again in the same slow, monotone voice mumbled the question. We had to ask her to repeat it 3 times before understanding which she rolled eyes making us feel like a nuccence for simply ordering coffee. Terrible service for under average drinks, we will not be returning.

Super. Slow. Service. I've never been served here quickly. The staff are never friendly. They always cust amongst themselves and make you wait. It took 5mins for the drink to be made today. I was the only person waiting.

Worst customer service ever. I took cups off two tables outside to the counter, so we had somewhere to sit. This is since they weren't clearing tables thrmselves. The male batista took the cups and then wandered off without asking what we wanted. Three other female baristas stood talking amongst themselves for several minutes whilst we stood waiting to be served. The young woman who eventually served us got the order wrong. She made a small coffee when all three coffees we ordered were large. She made extra milk and poured this into a bigger but dirty cup. We had to ask for a tray because she never offered. We also had to ask for spoons. We then ordered two cakes, and she never provided a fork. My partner asked for this, and she only gave 1 fork for 2 cakes, so she had to ask again for another fork. No smiles, no pleasantries, no thank you. It's quite something to feel like an inconvenience when patronising a business. I recommend going elsewhere.

Wednesday 21st June 2023 We used this coffee house in Leeds good value money pleasent drinking areas on 2 floors helpfull friendly staff good valued Vanilla lattee and a nice outside drinking area I would use place again I gave no stars for food because I dis.d not ingest anything here today

Just another generic Caffe Nero. Coffee that does the trick, but nothing to write home about.

I went here first time today and walked back out the rude woman with the glasses hair tied back I thought she asked what I wanted to order no she said I thought you were waiting for toilet in a rude manner I said I am waiting in queue and her reply was your in wrong queue if you spoke nice and not with a angry face I would of stayed but don't forget the customer's back are to me so how I am supposed to know you are the most horrible person I have ever met.

The small Costa at the back of River island in Trinity Centre has gone!!!! Shock horror-i liked it because it was small and quiet-we traipsed up to this Costa on Headrow-its ok-what can you say its a generic coffee Shop-ive noticed never enough staff on so big que-always a rush on Panninis so long wait!!!!!!! Haha

Think it's time to give up on Caffè Nero unfortunately. It's a shame because I prefer the taste of Nero's coffee (decaff) compared to Starbucks etc but every single time I go in lately (most branches in Leeds actually) it's trainees where you have to drip feed your order to them because they don't understand what you're asking for and if it's not trainees it's still clearly someone fresh out-of training because just little things like being given say for example a latte cup for an Americano and then when you ask for the actual cup it's meant to come in you're looked at like it's you with the problem. In a cost of living crisis where a coffee can cost anywhere up to £5 you want it right. I notice a lot of new staff lately so do Caffè Nero not treat the staff well because the high turn over shows. Also there's some very rude staff. A girl in the Boar Lane branch and a girl on Headrow. You can tell they just don't want to be there but it's not good because quality in food and drinks I'd say Nero beats the likes of Costa and Starbucks but the lack of customer service and knowledge on how to make their own drinks massively lets them down which is a shame.

Came here for a quick coffee to kill time, the batista whom attempted to serve me was rude and condescending from the get go. I asked him firmly but politely to check his tone and he just ramped it up further. Absolutely disgusting behaviour on his part. I'll stick with Starbucks from now on

Drinking chocolate was good. Madness at the deli counter and checkout with both customers as well as staff almost oblivious of called out orders and then as no server continuity unable to identify who the order is for amongst the crowd of those waiting to be served and those still waiting for their order. Quite a muddle with a number of uncleared tables. Maybe better in quieter moments but not the best ad for an occasional coffee shop visit

I much rather give good reviews but honestly..the service is grumpy and the place is dirty AND the cakes were dry .With so many nice coffee shops in the area my next coffe break will definately not be at Neros.

Very welcome coffee on a busy shopping trip.

Was concerned to observe the barrister only put two shots in my large Americano instead of the usual 3. On being questioned, the barrister looked rather sheepish with the words "Ah, you got me there." Not particularly impressed. The final drink and sandwich were both fine.

The weakest cortado I've ever had, a burnt cinnamon swirl and a blended frappe latte that wasn't blended, all served by indifferent staff to be consumed on dirty tables. Just go to Kapow and avoid this place like I should have.

Drinks and food were good. But I don't think there were enough staff as there were lots and lots of dirty table and uses mugs around.

I've been drinking coffee from here for over 10 years, I tried to present my "loyalty card" but the server who ignored me when I came in said I had already paid. So terrible the customer services here even the manager, who said was trying to help was just telling me I m stood in the wrong place, that's why she didn't take my order, I've binned my loyalty card. Won't go back, lots of coffee shops.

This service is so bad there was only two staff and one was a trainee. The barrista left all the work to the trainee and she was loitering around. although there was only 3 people ahead of me it took the poor trainee over 10 minutes to get to me. He was very frustrated which was fair as the barrista didn't help him what so ever.

Called in for a Latte which was delicious however my daughter had a severe nose bleed whilst we was waiting and my 5* are for Sarah the lovely waitress that looked after is. Pointed to the loo, brought Meg a glass of water and made sure she was OK. (Other members of staff grumpy tbh and not in a hurry to help or even serve other customers) Sarah was exceptional thanks x

One of the best buildings for Nero - the seating is spread over 3 levels and the open staircase between the levels is really nice. I recommend all of the vegan items, but wish they would expand the vegan range.

Staffed by a trainee who couldn't do basic maths. Toilets were filthy. Place needed sweeping and leather sofa had a big rip down the middle and to top it all the coffee was luke warm

Good location, amazing coffee as usual. Their foods and desserts are pretty decent. They will also have some new foods, for example around xman they will have "festival feasts". Recently they have a collaboration with "This is" and their vegan foods are quite good. Fab staff and easy access. They have three levels in this cafe and each level has different view. At the first level there are small tables and you can look down and see the counter and the ground floor from the edge. At the second floor it is very spacious and there is a big window so you can see outside and the street. It is a fantastic place to rest or hang out with friends.
