Caffe Nero in Southampton

Look what Kathy made me! That’s brilliant!

Order a hot chocolate 10minutes ago. Just opened the lid because I thought it felt light. It was half full. Really disappointed.

I visit Caffè Nero when I get the chance. My three favourite places are Southampton, Andover and Salisbury. Despite the number of coffee shops around, they are clean, staff is friendly, coffee is good, carrot cake delicious and best of all, they all allow dogs and serve pupachinos.

Our favorite coffee shop in Southampton by far. Coffee is always hot and the pastries delicious.

Ordered the chicken panini, and there was hardly any filling. Really poor for the price paid for it

My coffee shop of choice. Most of the staff are nice and the coffee is good. Needs a refit though and the toilets are really grim .

Asked for iced Americano and got mild one with 2 pics of ice and when asked for more ice with very agitated teenage voice “got no more ice 😒“ avoid for sure I’ll never be here again

I've been here several times, I've always been served with a smile. Staff are very knowledgeable and the drink are fantastic. The place gets filled up quite quickly due to its size and location.

Unfortunately this place has an infestation of fruit flies so it’s quite off putting getting anything there. Last time I went the woman told me they run out of ice and the customer after me was clearly a friend of hers as they were talking together and she ordered an ice drink and got some. I know sometimes places run out of ice temporarily but I could have been told to wait for a couple of minutes

Rude member of as he's the menger he's very unprofessional and seems to have attitude it's a one with a beard we don't go in this coffee shop anymore and I've always people to stay well clear

Awful service. Staff member ignored the mobile order (2 Drinks) and only acknowledged this when we approached to ask where the drinks were. Still took a further 10 minutes for her to do, meaning it took around 25-30 minutes in total. Dreadful staff levels and completely skimped on cream on the drinks. Complete shame as usually it’s very good in here.

Dear Café Nero Southampton Manager, I have been a loyal customer of your establishment for many years, and I left an excellent review three years ago. Whenever I'm in town, I always make it a point to visit and enjoy your delightful Cappuccino Cake and Belgian Chocolate Cake. Your cakes have consistently been delicious and moist, far superior to those of your competitors. However, my experience on June 23, 2024, at 15:17, was disappointing. I came in for my usual takeaway cakes, but to my horror, they were served in an unacceptable manner. The napkin was placed inside the box on top of my moist Cappuccino Cake, along with the fork! Additionally, the takeaway box was not even closed when it was handed to me. I expressed my dissatisfaction to my son, and the woman working at the till overheard my comments. She turned around and, rather confrontationally, told me, "That is how we do it here." I found this response to be quite confrontational and unprofessional. As a long-time customer of Café Nero, both in Southampton and across the country, I have never encountered this method of serving takeaway cakes. It felt akin to attending a children's party where mothers wrap cakes with icing in a napkin. I strongly urge you to retrain your staff and review your procedures for serving takeaway items, especially cakes. Presentation is a key aspect of your business, and the way my cake was served on this occasion was far from acceptable. I will revisit the shop and speak with the manager directly, but in the meantime, I hope this review brings attention to the issue. I trust that this was an isolated incident and hope that no other customers will have the same experience.

Just the same as other Neros,nothing special just overpriced coffee in a corporate type environment.

The staff are so incredibly lovely, I visited about a month ago now but my experience has stuck in my mind as they was just wonderful

So far, I haven't found an issue with this place. I like the food, I'm the drinks are nice, the vibes are pretty chill. Good choice of background music, and the interior is well done. Probably not worth going there on a daily basis as the prices are quite bitey but once in a while it feels nice.

The best coffee and loveliest staff!

I love this place, coffee is great, app is amazingly good and easy. However recent visit was not as great, girl who was making my coffee wasn't very helpful, slightly abrupt, maybe she had bad morning and needed coffee more than me. But I don't think this will stop me visiting this place. I still love their Caramel latte with cream, yum.

Warm and comfortable early in the morning.

Jo served me and my freind today and has to be one of the politest, sweetest and also most efficient Batista's I've ever met. She was efficient in making an order she was new to and yet it came out tasting amazing, one of the best I've had - she even made me and my freind laugh whilst waiting. Would recommend 10/10 (Iced pistachio latte with coconut milk and vegan cream)

Had a nice coffee here on a cold Xmas evening the coffee was good and the place was fine

I tried to call Caffè Nero to speak to the manager in order to bring this to her/his attention but just couldn’t get an answer. Waiting in line today, I was shocked to see a Barista ( NOT the trainee ) take coffee cups down from the top of the machine by putting her fingers INSIDE the rim of the cup. She was also handling money and also touching her face. I was happy to be waiting for a take away. The service was dead slow and from where I was standing, unhygienic.

Ordered the festive mocha only to be told, once the drink was made, they didn’t have any chocolate cream. As it is an essential part of the drink I said I’d leave it. The girl then snapped back “So, you don’t want the drink then?” before claiming she had told me earlier they didn’t have any cream. If they spent as much time cleaning the toilets as they do arguing with customers, when they are in the wrong. this place might be okay. Avoid.

Drinks where very tasty except not hot luke warm

This is very nice place to get a nice cup of coffee, they serve it in proper glass cups if you are having it in the shop. I tried their cake for the first time and I guess pistachio mousse is not a good choice.

I love to eat cinamon roll with americano here Sunday morning. I know nobody happy to work Sunday morning at 8 oclock but staff should be more good attitude makes costomers good days

I've ordered from this branch twice now and this has happened both times. I have ordered the vegetarian panini and they have sent over the meat one instead. First time i thought it was a mistake but seeing as this has happened again I can't help but think this is deliberate? If an order is not available, simply just cancel it or take it off the menu. Waste of time and money!

The two girls did amazing today despite having to close early due to staff sickness and being short staffed all day they still stayed open for as long as possible with great service. Their service is always lovely and I love that the coffee is the same price for both dine in and takeaway. A must visit!

Can’t recommend enough! For someone who never used to drink coffee, have found my favourite place to visit everyday! I love that wether I’m in a rush or have a chance to stay in and drink, the price doesn’t change! Big shout out for the manager aswell, she is so kind and helpful, and still manages to run a great service, even when she happens to be short staffed!

Sold us food and coffee at 16:50. Then told 10 mins later that we had to leave as they were closing, despite the closing time listed is 18:30. We were told we could transfer our food and drink to a take away cups and bags, after paying extra to eat in, this just added insult to injury. Our first time at caffe Nero … and our last. Back to Starbucks it is then. The first time I have ever left 1 star. Disgusting service, New management needed.

The barista, the Asian guy was so rude and aggressive and the customer service was really poor and he didn’t serve and treat the customer right he acted like we are getting the coffee for free!!

I never leave reviews, but I have to say that I was impressed. The setting and atmosphere were perfect for working on my computer, quiet, comfortable, with plenty of space and power sockets. The staff provided a professional, friendly and warm service during my couple of hours. I'll be back when next in Southampton, thank you.

The service can be great, it can be terrible. Some Batista's are natural, attentive and mindful, some are haphazard and distracted. No matter how carefully the grinders are dialed in and machines set, when they leave 10% of the last grinds in the portafilter and tamp off angle it's going to be a poor investment of £3.60 of a oat flatwhite. 🫣. And they really need to get the water glasses sorted, normally unusable.

Great coffee, pleasant atmosphere

This is our favorite coffee shop in Southampton. Great coffee, good atmosphere, friendly staff. The problem is the food . Where is it? Over the last month or more ever time we have gone in there for lunch ( around 12.30) there has been very little food available. Surely there should be still food around at that time. This has gone on for weeks. We went in there at 4 pm one Friday and the shelves were full. Who was going to buy that food? Please get your act together as we miss you.

Lovely staff, lovely seating outside with the shade of the trees, to be honest its one of my favourite cafés in Southampton because of the seats outside. Drinks are as expected. Loos right at the back. Comfy, cosy old leather and books sort of vibe inside.

Bit if a wait. Only two staff who were amazing. Just a long queue and big demand just as we got there.

Food and coffee always good, service is typically a bit slow but if you are not in a rush always worth the longer than average wait in the queue.

The queue was out of the door shortly after arriving. The cafe was not clean. Babyccino was in an espresso mug, absolutely tiny. The toilet facilities were filthy. Slow service to get any drinks or food.

To be honest. Not been to many as I find them to expensive. Have had a few offers with 3. So gave it a good. The stuff are lovely and don't look at you as if your a scab because your using an offer. 5 star's.

Visited this establishment for a coffee which was very nice. The cafe itself was very clean and tidy, Inviting and comfortable. The service was good and fast with a smile.

Very lovely staff, I ordered a hot chocolate which was very good. I also ordered a croissant but it was disappointing. It had been left out for ages to the point it went stale and it just didn't taste nice for what I payed. Overall it was ok but I'd probably visit not that often or in the morning when the pastries are warm and fresh.

The chai latte we had was very good, tasty and hot enough to warm us but not too hot so we could have a sip right away. Lovely happy people serving!

Great coffee with lovely atmosphere, I tried most of the city centre cafe but best decoration and calm atmosphere is for Nero. The only problem is most of the time tables are dirty and full of empty cups. Only one of the gentleman working there have a friendly behaviour sadly I don’t know his name.

Cafe Nero has the most relaxing and chilled vibes of all the coffee shops. Great staff and good service
