A building with large windows giving an outdoor feel. Clean and well maintained. Friendly staff and good strong coffee.

If you like cafe culture then this place is okay for a quick stop during a busy shopping trip. It's based inside the House of Fraser deprtment store on the ground floor (access is through the shop). They have a lix of seating/tables with some classic comfy seats with the option for long tables if you're a large group. We ordered a mix of hot and cold drinks with food (toasites and panini's) plus a cake. The service was good and friendly, but the tables needed a bit of a clean (probably due to the counter staff being busy). Cost wise it wasn't the cheapest cafe locally but it served it's purpose for satifying our need for a rest and refreshments. We later found that the nearby Waterstones bookshop also has a cafe (upstairs) which was better value and more comfortable, so consider this if you want something in the same area that's different.

The coffee is decent, the snacks are decent, the staff work hard. But the tea is god awful. As a yorkshireman, as a northerner, this is wholly unacceptable. It's not the staff's fault, it's whoever buys it in at the head office and then spreads it around all of their stores like manure. They must be the weakest, apologetic, sad tealeaves ever to grace a pot. There's nothing you can do to salvage it. Thorough consistent stirring is effort wasted. Aggressively squeezing the bag against the side of the cup until you get hand cramp is pointless. The teabags have passed. They have ceased to be. They never were. So yeah, avoid the tea.

We came upon this branch of Caffè Nero by accident, even though it's in the main area, near the Maritime Museum. It's housed in a former bank, so easy to miss. Gorgeous coffee, as always with this chain, relaxed surroundings and super friendly staff.

Situated on the ground floor of House of Fraser store. I sometimes pop in on my lunch for a takeaway Latte. The staff are very friendly and always remember your face and order which is a bonus in a city centre. Service is great, very quick and efficient. My Latte coffee's always taste great and I have never had issues with them being too milky unlike other coffee chains. Keep up the good work guys!

Went in today for a quick coffee on my way to a meeting and was very happy with the visit. Lovely coffee served by the very friendly and lovely Emma, she made time to tell me her favourite cake even though their was a clear queue. Place was clean and tidy. Coffee was beautiful

Good friendly service and excellent deep flavored coffee. We had americano which came with a small jug of milk. Can be quite busy but we were here mid afternoon taking a break from shopping. Other were sitting in the window overlooking Jameson Street just watching the world go by. This cafe has been here for some years and I was surprised not to be able to find a review for it. Very relaxing.

It's a shame about the original Bob Carver's. It just needs doing up exactly like it. Then reopening again. But the patties from the other one are lovely. Batter and breaded.

Great for an adult meet up. We popped in with the kids for a quick pub meal which was great value for money but it was Saturday late afternoon and the rugby was on so it was a bit loud and full, however it was still a great visit. If you're watching sports with the lads and drinking beer it's perfect !
