Caffe Nero in Barnet

Came across such a lazy and rude member of staff. She definitely needs some lessons in customer service! So so unhelpful. Avoid this place!!

Forgot why I do not come to this shop for breakfast. Door wide open ,freezing cold. Not very conducive to a relaxing morning coffee. Might as well have stayed at home & had breakfast in the garden.

Although I like this branch of Caffè Nero, both for its coffee and vibe, I'm surprised that such large premises would only have one customer toilet - which is ALWAYS occupied. Today I heard someone inside actually having a drawn-out phone conversation... Clown world! I gave up waiting after five minutes. There is a disabled toilet too, but this is kept locked. Perhaps management should consider allowing everyone access to it.

On rare occasions when I come in to buy a take-away drink there is frequently a queue and with only 2 staff taking orders, making food and drinks, taking payment etc I find the wait much too long and have often left after a 5-9 minute wait which is quite frustrating. With so many coffee bars in Barnet Nero's should be aware of the potential competition and employ some more staff. Tables don't get cleaned often enough either when sitting in although I do like the range of seating areas (though some may find the decor a bit noisy).

One lady who served me (she had dark hair and a European accent) was quite friendly, but the rest... Every time I've been in, they've been abrupt and not cracked a smile once. Regular customers seem to enjoy a chat with them, but something about my face must annoy them as they're unpleasant and almost rude. In fairness, they were crazily short-staffed last time I went in, but not every time. I can't bear customer-facing staff who don't seem to like interacting with people, and sadly what seems to be the case here.

We've been told that this place is a bit too family friendly on school days with lots of kids playing in a designated area, and that it tends to be way too loud and messy, but it was just perfect place for a Sunday coffee after lunch. Much larger than usual Nero coffee shops, it is spacious and airy, quiet and sheltered from the high-street noise. Our coffees were made to perfection and, chocolate cake was very fresh and delicious, and Belgian chocolate brownie was nothing short of perfection. We did not expect this good experience.

Enjoyed a coffee sitting outside in the sunshine which made a change in Barnet. Good cold coffee options... the list is endless!

i find it unbelievable that this restaurant allows the local tramp to sit on the chairs outside , this is enough to put anyone off from sitting there/ I am not talking homeless, as I have total sympathy with anyone with no where to live, I am talking really smelly with his wares all over the pavements around Barnet, there is no need for anyone to look like this there are toilets and washrooms in Barnet, and not nice to sit next to him after paying for coffee.

It seems this once good cafe has become a playground for screaming children. Not crying, which is unavoidable, but kids using it as a playground. Not their fault. Just what they’re allowed to do. Today was terrible. Kids jumping off chairs, tearing around and shouting. Really unpleasant. All of this could have been avoided by a manager asking the parents not to allow this behaviour. If you want a reasonably quiet coffee, I’d try somewhere else.

The coffee and cakes are always good quality at this chain but unfortunately this place is no longer family friendly. I don't know why they removed all the toys and books in the back corner that used to be there and the floor is not very clean. This used to be a place I and many other mums could take refuge and drink a coffee in peace with our young children but I don't come in anymore for these reasons.

Great staff with world wisdoms always a good word to say about their ways. The coffee always hits the spot and a little sweets in the form of a ginger biscuits seals the deal.
