Caffe Nero in Watford

Place was very dilapidated and worn. Food was awful. I had a tuna melt, which had hardly any tuna or cheese in. It tasted like cat food. The tea was ok. The place needs a good refurb, and the only toilet was very awful. Had to get a key from a member of staff to use it, which was embarrasing. When I went in, it was horrendous in there. The floor tiles were sodden and squelching underfoot. There was obviously a leak coming from somewhere. The floor was brown and there was poop on the floor which hadn't been cleared up. There was just a caution board. Honestly, it was digusting. Would never go there again or recommend to others.

Quick stop for a cup of coffee. Bit light coffee, service was good. It was busy time but good atmosphere. Seats available in and out.

Excellent customer service by Nishat. The lady in headscarf greeted me with a genuine smile and offered me the new millionaires hot chocolate. I agreed to try it and it was absolutely amazing. The service was flawless and easy. I would highly recommend these cafe in Watford high Street

I was refused to use my Perks free coffee scan codes. Both barista and the manager were rude, no manners, lacking any social skills, low morale, no knowledge about promotions and products they sell. The manager were rolling her eyes and making faces. Such a disgrace! I do like Cafe Nero coffee and usually baristas are very friendly and helpful, but not in Watford branch. Me and son left with gutted feelings.

Ants walking all over the scones and muffins. Told the barista who was very reluctant to do anything. When pushed, he eventually threw the scones away. Coffee not made well. Would not recommend.

A male staff member in a trainee t-shirt getting the hump with a customer and then telling her to go find another coffee shop. It was an issue around a scone and it not coming with butter, she said it was ok to pay for the jam. Also telling her not his day and other stuff. His whole aggressive tone was inappropriate. The rest of the staff just ignoring him. Felt I had to ask him that he might step away only to be also told to find another cafe. I was eating in so felt quite uncomfortable as already had make my purchase not sure I want to return anytime soon. Even the staff member I spoke to afterwards seemed afraid of him! Emailed Caffe Nero just a thanks for emailing them and not even an apology. Shame as I do like the coffee!

My wife went into the Nero café in Watford Hertfordshire today asked the two employees is she could use the toliet as he has diabetes and a week bladder so needs to go regular the two employees looked her up and down and said no it's for paying customers only my wife then left the cafe meeting me outside she was in tears because of what happened and because she was in a lot of pain from holding it in This should never happen to anyone and hope it never happens to you

The watford branch cafe nero is fantastic. Good mocha, the staff are very respectful and always aim to help in any shape or form. I would like to give a special shout out to christina, jo, maari as they always make great coffee and always are very helpful smiley people:) definently recommend visiting this store in particular just because of the customer service.

The Watford high street branch seriously needs a proper refurb, I mean a paint wouldn’t go amiss it’s a proper tired and dated establishment that has old worn sofas badly chipped and cracked doors and poorly cleaned flooring. Come on Cafe Nero get it sorted you are great coffee house with some of the loveliest coffee but this store lets your brand down big time

Standard affair .. never had a bad experience here. Coffee is always freshly made and the cakes are nice .. My only gripe .. the leather sofas are so knackered and low, it’s like I’m sitting on the floor .. lol

I go every other day and the staff recognise me and always know what drink I want. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the drinks are always warm and tasty. It is a busy store and there can be a queue at most times. I'm surprised Caffe Nero haven't updated the store like others and only having two members on site isn't good especially as one is often needed to clean and clear the store, as the other is left to deal with the hordes single-handed. And that disabled toilet seriously needs upgrading. It can honk at times. Overall, it is a great store to go to that Caffe Nero need to value.

The staff here make you feel unwelcome, they all talk in their own language, ignore you & are very abrupt & rude when serving, there is no customer service or service with a smile! Very sad as it was our first visit since lockdown

Coffee and service is very good but the place looks a bit worn out . A great location to spend some time and enjoy a flat white, meal and ginger shot .

Popular coffee bar but sadly looks dirty and untidy. Usually a long queue. Big coffee bar and not many staff.

I went for the first time in this Caffe , the welcoming and friendliness was there . The lady whom serves me was very smiley and calm. Latte with halzenut : spot on . Shop clean and regularly cleared from any empty cups . Also music level spot on . Well done to the staff .

Tried here after some bad experiences in the local M&S. Staff very accommodating and helpful in Cafe Nero.Coffee splendid. Service excellent and food tasty. Perfect for a relaxing coffee and snack. Variety of seating with nice outdoor seating area. Good value and properly staffed. Superior service and seating compared to M&S opposite.

As regular Nero people we welcomed the great new food selection with mini pizzas, yummy deep filled savoury tarts with butternut or roasted veg fillings, del-sandwiches using what looks like focaccia type bread and much more. It has diverted us from Costa for lunches. The new food menu was long overdue and most enjoyable

I went for a coffee today and one member of staff asked me to bring the chair I was sitting on inside. I replied that there were no other chairs and she said I don't care. Later on I saw other people brining chairs from inside the shop outside and she did nothing. I told her that she discriminated me and she threatened me.that she would call the police using her finger against me. I will go back only if she leaves this shop. Racist uneducated person who must not work in customer service .AOID AT ALL COSTSSS.

Such a shame that Cafe Nero has not updated this coffee shop.The coffee is far better than the other coffee shops in the area. The staff are generally friendly and the biscuits/pastries are really good. If its a nice day and you can get a table outside...5 out of 5. If you have to sit inside, take a peg for your nose and some covers to keep your shoes clean.

Great place for a cuppa but usually busy so sometimes hard to get a seat. Good value and a good cup of tea - loads of cakes and speciality coffees too. Friendly staff.

Caffe Nero was just the job for meeting an old friend on a rainy day. Coffee was excellent, paninis and pain au raisins excellent. Very happy to go again.

I come here regularly. The hot drinks are always to a high standard. The tables are always clean, and the staff are very nice and welcoming. My only real criticism is the lack of variety with regards to snacks and lunch.

Had lunch (sandwich and a drink) here recently, the coffee was good as usual, the staff were friendly and seemed to know exactly what their regulars wanted, but it was very worn and tired looking and it looked like it could do with a deep clean and a lick of paint.

This is a busy café and sometimes there is a queue, but the servers are very efficient and keep things moving. The coffee is good, but the café itself may be in need of a makeover. It is looking a little tired.

The place needs a face-lift, but we don't go there for the ambiance. We go there because the friendly, helpful staff serve excellent coffee.

La ubicación es ideal, fuera del mall y en la calle alta. Es agradable y espacioso interior y es muy grande con muchos asientos. También tienen una bonita zona al aire libre también con asientos. Cafés son buenas, puede tener que esperar un poco para ser servido, ya que puede ser bastante concurrida.

As always with Nero outlets the coffee is fantastic, but this branch is often in need of a good clean, it's seems to get to busy for the number of staff. The staff are pleasant and welcoming.

If you are looking for a perfect strong (ristretto) Espresso or a delicious Cappuccino Caffe Nero in the Highstreet is the best place.

This is another popular and very busy restaurant which does serve decent tasting coffee, and reasonably good snacks. However it is another example of a place that needs a much better cleaning regime. I don't care how busy they are the place should be cleaner.

I like going here and usually visit a couple of times a week. Most of the staff are friendly. I appreciate it can be a stressful job. I don't appreciate surly staff who don't smile at you, and who act as if they are doing you a huge favour by serving you. This is the case with a couple of the staff. If they don't get your order right and you ask them to rectify it, they roll their eyes and have such a bad attitude. There is a Costa just down the road, maybe you would prefer that I go there and give them my money instead. First rule of customer service: Create a positive experience for the customer!

There are not enough staff. The staff that are there are good. I have walked out at least twice because i got fed up waiting to be served and standing in a the Que. I like the fact that they allow dogs in. It makes the place more home. They are loosing customers because of lack of staff though and need to sort this out!

Well prepared cappuccino and excellent double chocolate cookie. Free wi-fi which was a blessing. Clean washroom

Called in for a panini and a drink as I didn't want a full meal in a restaurant. It was 45 minutes before closing but was still busy. The panini was as expected and okay, the only thing I did't like was that instead of unwrapping it and then cutting it, she took the lazy way out and used the sharp knife to cut through the packaging and the panini before heating it up. Not good food safety practice as it increases the risk of food contamination from the plastic - can you please stop doing this!!!Okay if you want a snack, but nothing special. The service was average, you could see that they wanted to go home.

It opens early for the watford area..and we ended up here for some coffee and ended up having early breakfast at this place .. Freshly baked stuff here was too good and so was the coffee.. Outside seating was good too

Cafe Nero provides a standard of quality in all of its outlets that I consider to be good. I prefer the coffee here as opposed to other high street coffee shops. It has a reasonable range of drinks, sandwiches, cakes and snacks. Loyalty card also makes it worthwhile.

My daughter and I are Nero Fans. We have been going to Nero's for years. Loyal and love their coffee very much. And every time we go to Watford we will stop at Nero at least twice every trip … one coffee before we start and another half way through our shopping trip and if we are still in the mood another coffee before we go home. Its lovely sitting outside under the umbrellas chatting with our favourite coffee. The only thing is the last trip wasn't as much fun at Nero's … the barista behind the counter was in a bad mood, rushing around, and didn't get our order right then she got confused and didn't stamp my card properly with my loyalty stamp. Felt uncomfortable and I'm not the type to make a scene, so I just kept quiet and paid as usual. It did put a little damper on my sit down session but of course after two minutes I just got over it. I have been to lots of other Nero's where the staff were friendly and polite and nice but somehow this lady at the Watford branch wasn't right. Maybe she was having an off day so I'll give her another chance but seriously, she ought to consider changing jobs. Obviously this job is not suitable for her.I hope no one else get grumpy when they go to Watford's Nero's.

I love the tomato and basil soup, however they always seem to run out and I always seem to have the worst luck at scoring some. I can't have gluten and their soup is gluten free so when I'm out and about in town I try to stoock up, but they never seem to have any left :(

Regularly grab a hot choc with whipped cream on the top from Nero, oh and a slice of choc cheesecake. It's a killer combination and the dudes there keep it ever so real....happy days!

Allways have a good latte, pleasent staff, cold water available and great location. Nice compy seats and pleanty of room

the soup despite being microwaved was very tasty and presented.Really enjoyed it and great price. Good atmosphere but the easy chairs need replacing they are in terrible condition.

I love their coffee, I especially like the fact you can order a single shot (so my mother doesn't get too hyper!) the staff in the Watford branch are always very friendly and attentive even though their is usually a queue out of the door although during my last visit one of the ladies was a little sour faced and spent more time talking to her colleagues than her customers. I am presuming it was a one off as the service is usually very good. They have a nice selection of cakes and biscuits but the croissants are often too dry.Their panini selection is small, but delicious. If I am going into town with my mum, we nearly always make time to stop here.The outdoor area is huge and this is a bonus.

Caffe Nero is a large terrace space, however the service is done at the Balcony and the tables should be constantly cleaned so that customers can enjoy the space. In my view it is just ideal for a coffee or a cool frappe.

Just called for some coffeees -- no atmosphere, tables not cleared -- one cyclist with hard hat taking all the settees with one take away coffee -- very quiet and disinterested but 3 or 4 people just using the wi - fi. -- used to be good when they cared!
