Pizzologist is hands down the best place in Edinburgh to experience authentic Italian pizza without leaving the city! I could perfectly say that they are the best pizzas I have ever eaten in my entire life! Every time I eat a pizza I compare it to these, and no they can't even compare!! 10/10 As soon as I return to Edinburgh, I already have a favorite place to go to eat!

Ooft. What a terrible fall from grace. This was a great local restaurant and we’ve been there for private hire, family occasions, impromptu night outs and loved it every time. But now…..well, it’s a bit of a nightmare. Customer service has fallen off a cliff, dine in isn’t really an option and they won’t take bookings or offer any kind of service at all. To top it all they were closed in the evening last week with no explanation. Have they closed down? What a shame to see a business collapse so rapidly.

The pizza was good and all but they could of added a little more toppings to my pizza. When I came in to place my order in the evening, some of the items on their menu weren't available. Probably better to get at lunch for the full selection.

As an Italian tourist, I was amazed by the quality of the raw materials, fresh products, very light pizza. Really good tiramisu and espresso. Excellent prices, to be the envy of many pizzerias in Italy.

Not what it was since they evidently changed management recently. We made a reservation 6 weeks ago for a special occasion and we arrived to be told by an exasperated manager that they no longer do reservations no matter what their own restaurant website says. (???) It would have been great to know that so we could have changed plans (especially since their automated system - through THEIR own website not Google - sent us a reminder email 2 days before) but apparently changing their own website or sending an email to everyone who had made reservations was too stressful and difficult as we were told repeatedly by the very defensive manager. The lady doth protest too much? They didn't even try to accommodate us despite more than one table being free (we were 4 so they could have seated us separately at 2-person tables) and were generally just really unpleasant about the whole thing. Honestly the new manager didn't seem to have any idea what he was doing and kept complaining about how hard it's been to change Google's reservation system (despite us booking it through his own website, not Google) and the impact it's had on his mental health. Has this person ever run any restaurant or been in the service industry at all? It was a Friday night at dinnertime so we weren't confident we could sit down anywhere else with no reservation so we ordered takeout and were quite disappointed. The menu had recently changed (not a big issue by itself) but the pizzas we ordered weren't even quite right: they first didn't even give us all the pizzas we ordered and had to press to even get what we ordered and paid for; one pizza that explicitly had tomato sauce didn't have any sauce and the pizzas that came with various toppings had scant coverage at best (2 sundried tomatoes on a pizza does not really suffice to be honest). I could be more forgiving despite all this if perhaps all the trouble was due to being extremely busy at that moment, but the restaurant only had a few other patrons at the time (who were all finishing their food - ours were the only pizzas they had to prepare) despite being "completely booked up" which was very weird terminology to use when they had just told us they didn't do reservations anymore. Thankfully there are other places in Edinburgh with similar style pizzas because we will never be back. Save your money and your time and go literally anywhere else!

Eigentlich 'nur' eine Ausweichmöglichkeit, da das eigentliche Restaurant, welches wir besuchen wollten geschlossen hatte. Wir waren außerordentlich überrascht. Zwar ist das Ambiente etwas billig (Plastik Pflanzen, viel Schnickschnack), aber das Essen (Lasagne + Panini) waren unglaublich lecker. Würden wiederkommen.

It's lively and as an Italian cafe/bar/eatery, full of Italians. Good lobster ravioli. But! The local area is undergoing a renovation of sorts and looks a dump. Shame.

What to say...?!! if you happen to the Caffè ☕️ Maradona, instead of the usual soup ... you will drink an Italian coffee as it should be ... and then delicious sandwiches, pasta and pizza made in Italy ... a run away ... otherwise worse for you ! 😜😂😂👍

Just bought a place nearby to this cafe/restaurant. By chance, looking for a coffee I popped in one morning. For such an unassuming place, coffee is fantastic. Decided to give it a try for lunch. Sat outside and enjoyed delicious, authentic Bolognese. My partner had Milano panini (breaded chicken) which was also excellent. Friendly, good honest Italian cuisine.

Visited here by chance as I needed to get out of the rain and was really surprised to find such a gem! Had Lasagne which had an excellent tomato base and was enormous! The espresso was PERFECT, also had a big bottle of sparking water and bought a proper traditional cannolo to take away. For all of that was under £15. I also loved the super unique theme of Maradona, why not?! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone!

Nice coffee and comfort food, nothing fancy but great for a quick bite. The barista is also very nice, loved how he tried to accommodate my 4yo's requests.

Stopped by for lunch, stayed for coffee and pastries. Great authentic Italian pizza, pasta, and desserts. I had the vegetarian pizza which had a good amount of veggies and the crust was perfectly flaky. My husband had the pesto and chicken pasta and it was superb. Loved our lunch, so decided to get some pastries and they did not disappoint. Wonderful, friendly service, as well!

Genuinely Italian! You can find many pastries and a variety of typically Italian mains and soft drinks (for anyone who knows it, even the rare Tassoni soda) and coffees are on the spot. Long opening hours are making this place suitable for everything between breakfast to dinner.

Excellent small Italian bar. Tasty food very well cooked and presented. The guys at the counter are humble, kind and helpful. They're happy to explain clearly all different ingredients of cakes and savoury. The quality is amazing and reminds me of a typical south Italian family. Panzerotti (pizza fritta) are my favourite. I recommend this small Italian gem. Cakes and croissants are very good but sfogliatella napoletana is simply amazing. Keep up the good job.

Was working in Edinburgh and decided to relive my youth and get chips with salt and sauce (in Glasgow it's salt and vinegar). Was a bit worried that my memory of how good it was wouldn't match the reality, but OMG.....they were EPIC! Washed down with a cannot coke. Utter Bliss!

Proper, classic Edinburgh chippy and cafe ran by a friendly Scots-Italian family. Chips are how Edinburgh chips should be, and if you know Edinburgh chips, you'll know what I mean. Also sells Edinburgh chippy sauce in bottles, pizzas, and other bits and bobs.

At first the restaurant had no fish. But then the fish arrived at it was quite tasty. The chips therefore weren't perfect but it was all freshly made. The staff was really nice and helpful. Overall it was a great time here.
