This spot has a good location, however the service and food let it down. We were seated upstairs and were forgotten about. A lengthy period went by before we finally managed to catch the eye of a downstairs waiter who came and took our order. Coffee was nice but the food disappointing and read better on the menu than it tasted. We ordered eggs florentine - the bed of spinach was shredded do finely it was like grass. The vegan breakfast was also disappointing. The beans were stone cold on one side and hadn’t been reheated properly and unfortunately the smashed avocado tasted like it had vinegar through it rather than lemon. We were asked if we enjoyed our meal but sadly it came across as though the waiting staff genuinely weren’t interested. Overall disappointing.

Good Flat White Decaf and atmosphere. Shakshuka £11.50, just not the way I like it. Eggs overcooked, sauce thick and full of spice. Other breakfast, Avo toast with crab and egg was enjoyed.

Great food and service for lunch. The food is quite unusual and is very tasty. Think it is quite good for veggies and vegans. Always busy, but the tables seem to turn around quickly. They are dog friendly as well both inside and out which is good. They serve coffee etc but also serve beer and wines as well.

I have heard great things about the breakfasts at Ziques but I wouldn’t have dinner here again. Before I get to the meal however there were two of us and we found that the tables were placed too close together. No way was the restaurant good value which is probably to be expected given the venue however some of it was “off the scale” even for Hyndland. Firstly the wine is way overpriced, my friend and I chose a rose which was the second cheapest at £29 and not particularly memorable! Now for the food - all small plates arriving at different times to suit the chefs which is somewhat standard these days. First to arrive was the small portion of goats cheese (four tiny circles priced at £5.50). The next dish shocked us both, scallops – all TWO of them, priced at £9. I live in the west end and dine out constantly but £4.50 a scallop, come on!!! We ordered the fillet of beef in Yorkshire pudding which was dry, tasteless and cold! Then the Qgnolotti arrived (filled pasta shapes) quite nice if not high in flavour but at least a reasonable portion (for a small plate). In our opinion the best of the main courses was the aubergine with yogurt and pomegranate, so delicious we ordered two (as still hungry). Finished off with the piece de resistance the “orange posset” absolutely delicious and believe it or not one portion was enough to share, unlike the rest. We did mention to our really pleasant and extremely hard working waiter our disappointment at the vastly overpriced scallops and he kindly arranged for these to be removed from our bill however the cost of the meal and drinks was £100 (including tip) which we felt was too expensive for what was served. Despite excellent service from our friendly overworked server and the fact I have read the great breakfast reviews I could not recommend anybody visit this restaurant for dinner.

Myself and three friends ate here tonight, food really good but it is the service which I particularly want to praise. The young chap serving us was really professional, cool and calm under pressure as well as being super friendly and well mannered. I just wanted to say this because I know how difficult it must be for staff at the moment; our experience was excellent, thank you.

We were seated upstairs on a Saturday night, it was extremely warm and before long it got smokey from the kitchen which only made the experience more uncomfortable. They were out of a lot of dishes at 7:30 on a Saturday and we chose a selection. The drinks order took an appalling amount of time to arrive. I've been a chef, sommelier and bartender etc. before and I am not sure if it was inexperience, lack of leadership or just a very slow worker that was to blame. The espresso martini was nothing special and the cokes and sparkling water were as expected (considering the lengthy wait we thought the sparkling water was going to be fresh from the source in the Highlands!). The seabass ceviche was the best dish, wonderful flavours and so fresh. The rest was ok, beef was unseasoned and the brownie for dessert was crying out for some ice cream to cut trough the richness. Ultimately, hot and smokey experience as we sat upstairs stewing in our own juice. Really long wait for drinks (could have watched Lord of the Rings a few times) and ok food with the exception of the seabass ceviche which was amazing! Heard it is better during the week, however, a restaurant should be able to handle a Saturday night.

We were really looking forward to eating here as my friend had booked a table inside the restaurant for us on Saturday 28th August. She politely asked the waitress if we could be seated outside seeing as it was a sunny day, and was promptly told there were no spaces even though we could clearly see there was. Literally within a few minutes of being seated at our table a couple walked in and asked another waitress if there were any tables outside and that they hadn't made a reservation. The waitress picked up some menus and took the couple outside and sat them at one of the empty tables! We asked our waitress why we weren't given the option to move as we had politely requested previously... she abruptly told us there had been a cancellation, which was strange as whilst we were seated at our table the phone didn't ring once. Maybe it was an online cancellation and she was probably having an off day but her attitude stank. I'm fully aware of the pressures on the hospitality industry the moment with staff shortages etc but the restaurant wasnt full. We had to ask a waiter if we could place an order for our food and drinks. The food was good but Ziques won't be my first choice when booking again!

EXCELLENT breakfast! We travel to Scotland often from the US and this is by far my favorite breakfast eatery. I can’t wait to come back to try lunch at some point. 🤤 HIGHLY recommend: the veggie breakfast w/ poached eggs & a slice of the French toast. The chili sauce + halloumi cheese on the veggie breakfast is an amazing combo! The French toast was probably the best I’ve ever had. Not too sweet and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered “the big breakfast” and was a traditional Scottish breakfast. He devoured it so I assume it was yummy. 😂 We will be back!

This will definitely not be our last visit. We liked the look of the cakes but didn’t have any room left. So, we looked up the address for the bakery and drove straight there for take away. The cakes lived up to how they looked, fantastic. If you want to visit here at the weekend, you’ll need to be early worms people, by 10am it was packed. It’s worth it .

Warm welcome from friendly server who ushered us upstairs to a nice spacious table. Full breakfast and eggs royale really tickled the tastebuds and deftly showcased the premium and locally-sourced ingredients used. Tabasco and lemon juice also took the hollandaise to really dizzy heights. While our son wolfed down his pork links and mushrooms, our strong coffees really put a spring in our step too. While some may baulk at the £33 bill, it is fair price for a first-class breakfast in an upscale and centrally-located diner. As all tables were taken within 20 minutes of our arrival, it is a must visit in the West End.

Our family had had a night's stopover in Glasgow after spending a week in the Outer Hebrides. We had been to church at St Patrick's and called in for a coffee at Cafezique nearby. When we saw the menu we decided to stay for breakfast. That was a great decision. When we tasted the coffee, we all thought that this was one of the best we had ever tasted. The quality of the breakfast matched the coffee. I had the full Scottish breakfast and it was possibly the best full English/Scottish breakfast that I had ever had.

I had previous been to Gather by Zique just up the road and had a fab dinner/evening. After such an experience I was keen to try the Cafe. Atmosphere was quite casual, menu looked interesting. I ordered the bbq pork chop and was not overly impressed - sauce significantly overpower everything and the pork was a bit dry! Disappointing - perhaps the wrong choice. Colleagues dinning with me had a reasonable meal. This meal did not deliver on my, perhaps overly optimistic, expectations! Also learnt that Gather had closed - a real loss, very sorry to hear this!!

On the whole we had a reasonable experience but with so many options in the west end, it may be a while before we venture back- saying that it was very busy and lots of people seem to love it. We had two lunches here, plus one dinner. We really liked the food and service on all the occasions, but unfortunately they don't take reservations, and every time we want to pop by it's absolutely, almost unpleasantly packed. It's become one of the most hip places in Hyndland / Partick, and you can forget about catching lunch or brunch here unless you are prepared to wait for quite some time. As a result, we stopped even trying. The food is nice, but with the abundance of lovely cafes in the area with pretty much the same offering as Cafezique, it's simply not worth cramming yourself and waiting for half an hour.

With so many good restaurants in Glasgow offering various dining options and value it can take a little time to revisit your favourites. On this occasion I used an Itison voucher, two courses and a cocktail. Each course was delicious as was my third choice, dessert. The restaurant is easy to find, underground to Kelvinhall, out off the station, turn right then short walk through Mansfield Park to Hyndland Street and the restaurant. Car parking in the area is available but at times might be problematic, it is a heavily populated area. The restaurant is bistro style but comfortable, service very good and with a smile. Go, you'll not be disappointed, the food is excellent.

Both our meals had been sitting for about 5 mins on counter before being served. Restuarant wasn't busy, my meal was warm not hot. I asked for it to be heated up. We've been to Cafezique several times over the last couple of years and have usually found the food to be nearly excellent. Lately though they seem to have lost a bit of focus. The service the other day was desperately slow despite the place being only about one third full. The Cullen skink was pretty good but served in a very mean portion. The smoked salmon salad was spoiled by the potatoes being stone cold, obviously straight from the fridge, when they should have been at room temperature. And why sprinkle every salad with balsamic stuff? Far better to hand good olive oil and vinegar separately and let the customer decide.

Had the eggs Jose with sobrasada, a kind of sausage paste but not as spicy as nduja, with extra haggis. Well presented and tasty if not the biggest portion in the world. Also had the french toast with banana, got a table easily before 10am but by 10.30 it was full

Albeit last time I was at cafezique was last year - the menu has changed from then; more limited and portions are reduced. Burgers and polenta chips have gone and the hummus was not the same in taste or texture. Food was good but not what we remember or were after - heard the old management are now across the road now in a new venue will be checking it out I think :(

I've travelled the world and had many many great breakfasts but this one from Cafezique tops them all. It's a very busy eatery and tables are not immediately available but the staff keep you fully updated as to when your table is available. You can sit at the bar with a drink while waiting for your table. It's well worth waiting for the breakfast - delicious bacon, poached eggs, black pudding, potato scone, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato & toast. All piping hot and delicious. Washed down with a well honed latte. This is a very busy place but with plenty of staff be prepared for a bit of a wait at busy times with food being cooked to order, the short time in getting served was well worth the wait. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. We've been a number of times before and have never been disappointed. We'll be back!

Went for a meal last night, 2 steaks and 1 sole, Food took 45 minutes to come and the steaks were distinctly average, been in here during the day but at night it is so slow, chefs seemed more interested in chatting to each other that getting the food out which is infuriating when you are waiting for food.

I like the distressed look on the outside which continues inside. I ordered the full veggie breakfast. It was super tasty. The food is excellent. The staff are very friendly. Expect a little wait for a table as it's very busy. My only complaint is the wait. The food took a long time. My tea was exhausted in this time.

Sorry but didn't live up to expectations. Took a very long time for food to come but to be fair they were really busy, however no apology for the lengthy wait. Coffee was very good but totally let down by my breakfast of poached eggs with toast and a side order of bacon. The bread was very difficult to cut and even more of a challenge to chew. The eggs were nice bit the bacon was so over cooked it had no taste and was extremely brittle. I wondered if the plate had sat under a heat lamp for a while before being served. Despite mentioning the problem with the bread to 2 different servers, nothing was done or an alternative suggested and was still charged the full amount. Not going to be rushing back unless it's only for a coffee!

We visited Cafezique last week and both ordered the big breakfast. Everything was absolutely delicious and we both cleared our plates! The sausage and bacon were particularly tasty although the highlight was the beans...they tasted like apple and cinnamon beans. Strange but soooo good! Great value for money and we both agreed it was the best cooked breakfast we have had in a long time. All washed down with a very tasty flat white and friendly service!

I've been here before and am glad to see that the service has somewhat improved. I ordered scrambled eggs and smoked which is £8.50, not an unusual price in the West End. However I was really disappointed by the portion size, which looked like only 1 egg had been used and a pretty small portion of smoked salmon. There were 2 big bits of toast, which didn't really make up for it. I've had this elsewhere with at least double the quantities. My friend had French toast and bacon and said that it was about half the quantity of bacon than when she had had it before. With lots of brunch competition in the West End, I'm likely to go somewhere else in the future.

We visited on a weekday for a late breakfast, and arrived just before the rush. Not vegetarians but we opted for the veggie breakfast and were not disappointed. Very filling, well presented, everything seasoned just right. Service was good, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of breakfast options on offer, worth the money, and good coffee. Would recommend.

On a hot day we wanted to sit outside because even on the coolest day inside it's like an oven and there's no air conditioning. There were three empty tables outside at midday on a Saturday afternoon and on enquiry we were told they were all reserved. Fortunately, a table of three got up to leave and when we asked the waiter if we could sit there he told us he would enquire inside and come back. He came back to say it wasn't possible to have this table it was for three girls inside. I explained that they arrived a lot later than us. He went back in again and came back to tell us that the manager said it had been reserved for three girls waiting inside. The service has never been great here but this was the last straw and I'll never be going back there. Expect a very muddled service and rather haughty staff.

£2.90 for a bottle of water - Are you kidding? We went for 2 x breakfast rolls (one was a doubler/the other was a tripler), didn’t inform us that the menu we were looking at was takeaway prices only until we were leaving. The sit in menu doesn’t even have the cost of the tripler roll on it when I asked to double check the price. £15.80 for two breakfast rolls & one bottle of water is absolutely outrageous pricing. There are much better local options with a reasonable price attached to them!

Found this place via trip advisor recommendations. Lovely little cafe clean and well set out . Very friendly efficient staff. We went for breakfast I had the full breakfast with haggis and my partner who is fussy made her own breakfast. Everything cooked freshly and well presented quality produce. Clean toilets. Everything decently priced considering the area.

Fine dining in the most unpretentious surroundings. Our food and service were both faultless the food cooked to perfection. Mitchell’s is an institution and one that we should treasure so if you are looking for a place to have guaranteed excellent food and service look no further.
