Das Café ist im Buchladen integriert und befindet sich im 1. Stock. Selbstverständlich kann man sich Bücher zum Schmöckern mitnehmen. Die Kuchen und der Kaffee waren lecker. Herzhafte Speisen gäbe es auch.

We are regular visitors to Swansea but it is easy to miss the cafe at Waterstones as not all Waterstones have cafes and the bookshop itself is towards the edge of the main centre. On our latest trip we were passing and noticed the cafe sign so gave it a go. Very pleasantly surprised. Decent amount of space and well set out with a good range of cakes, snacks, etc. - certainly enough of a range to cater for breaks or lunch. I would certainly make this a more regular stop for us in future when we are in the area. Particular shout out to the member of staff who was on duty when we were there - very friendly, welcoming and efficient - don't know his name (friendly guy with very colourful hair!) he is a real asset to the place.

Popped in just to look for a book then feeling slightly unwell decided to go up stairs to the cafe we ordered cheese and onion toasty salad sandwich pot of tea and a cappuccino. I am old enough to remember this as a cinema and seeing some of the original interior was so pleasing the food and drinks where very nice décor also calm and the service was very good the only criticism I can make that it is grossly over prised for toasty and sandwich. There is a lift for those would need it but no toilets and it is relatively small but cosy Just well over priced

I cannot fault the customer service in the slightest! I was served by a lovely lady in the cafe when I first arrived who lent me a pen and took interest in my day. As I went to leave, I took back my coffee and food and Mo offered me a takeaway cup. As small as these gestures were, it really shows how compassionate they both are. Thank you for the lovely experience xo

Found this cafe by chance whilst strolling around Swansea and really enjoyed a muffin and a Cappuccino coffee in a relaxing atmosphere. It is sited in a former cinema called The Carlton and is part of a Waterstones book shop. The conversion has been tastefully done with many features having been retained. Both of the lady staff members I met were obliging, friendly and courteous and there was a lovely choice of cakes and pastries on offer. The visit made a welcome break from window shopping and I recommend.

We were shopping in Swansea on Saturday 18th May and popped into the “W” cafe at Waterstones. A delightful setting, in the former Carlton cinema on Oxford Street which was the first purpose-built cinema in the country and is a Grade II listed building. Much of the grandeur of the old cinema has been retained and it is a popular place to sit with a coffee and a book. I had a coffee, my wife had a camomile tea and we both had delicious cakes.

My partner and his family visited in November. We were made to feel very welcome. Great ales on tap. We were lucky enough for them to let us eat a takeaway in there as the restaurant we planned to go to had double booked which was very kind of them. We had a great night and was so privileged to hear Hermione the bar manager sing in a cappella an Irish folk tune. Wow we couldn't hear a pin drop when she sang. It literally took my breath away. Definitely recommend this place and we will definitely revisit .

Skinny Caramel latte and fruit porridge. I have never seen a breakfast look so amazing but this also tasted amazing too. I can highly recommend this little coffee house a visit not only for the beautiful food and beverage but for people watching too. Best place I've been too.

I have waited several weeks before writing this. I rarely post negative reviews, particularly not for small independent venues. But the price of 2 pieces of cheese on toast costing £10.95 is still irritating me. I didn’t look at the bill until sitting back down and my bank account flashed up the amount. I went back to the counter and asked if this was correct. Then to add insult to injury, we had nearly finished our coffees and my wife went to the counter to check where the cheese on toast was. No apology from the staff, and they said it was waiting in the kitchen as they couldn’t remember what table ordered it. You would expect sour dough bread or some, artisan crafted speciality bread and a fine local Welsh mature cheddar for this price. What we received was bog standard supermarket sliced brown bread and a meagre layer of bog standard supermarket cheese, that barely covered the cardboard toast. It was now barely tepid and ranks as the worst and most expensive cheese on toast we have ever had. Our cake was good but I overpriced, and the coffee was OK, but no where near as good as numerous other coffee shops in Swansea. Positives are: venue is nice and clean, staff friendly but somewhat dopey. It’s a shame they demolished my old school Ty-Coch. I am sure the catering ladies would have done a better job

Love the cakes, though, 4 months after moving shop they have yet to update online sources with their new telephone number.
