CAFE VALOR in Birmingham

Staffs were nice and service was good but the food was very bad and oily. Karak chai was so bad that had to return it ( it’s says Buffalo milk but really watery and didn’t taste Chai )

Visited Cafe Valor for breakfast and it was lovely! Beautiful interior decor, friendly and helpful staff who displayed excellent customer service and delicious food at a reasonable price. The menu is very diverse with vast options to choose from. The atmosphere was calm and quiet and I felt very comfortable; definitely family friendly! Will certainly be visiting again soon.

Traveled down from Middlesbrough, breakfast was unreal, very delicious and super fast service. Got some cakes to take back with us and I do recommend the Dubi chocolate in the tin. Well worth the money and we will return again x

Visited cafe valor for the first time. Food was spot on and the portion size was value for money aswell as tasting good. Service was great and didn’t have to wait too long for food. Decor was lovely too and felt like I had privacy with the way the place is setup. Would absolutely recommend if you want a Desi or English breakfast or lunch. Staff was very polite too.

I visited with my family and friends for brunch, we were a table of 11, we were quickly seated and welcomed, my first encounter at the till was with Ruqqayah and the owner who were really lovely, this cafe specialises in Karak Chai with Buffalo Milk I have tried this before at a wedding and it was incredible and it did not fail to disappoint. I had ordered the egg muffin which exceeded my expectations, I would definitely recommend. I finally ordered a French toast, which was great. I would definitely visit again. It was also extremely reasonable for everything.

We had a great breakfast, chosen from a huge range of options from different cultures. Very tasty and very reasonable prices! The staff were super friendly and helpful as well. Totally recommended!!

Please avoid this cafe. Absolutely terrible service. The staff is untrained and order was served one thing at a time per hourly basis. They kept bringing other people’s order and we had to keep reminding them what we ordered … Drink Selection pathetic and they don’t know how to make/ brew any kind of tea. This is the second time I’ve come here and I absolutely loved the food especially the desi breakfast and the karak chai is one of the best I’ve had. The owner also came personally and spoke to us about our experience and how the food was, overall it was very nice and pleasant cafe to have breakfast and the service was nice, staff were very friendly and polite.

Went to the cafe today for breakfast and I am sorry to say , for a service industry this cafe has miles to cover for it to be amongst the best in Birmingham. No one is there to seat you or show you where to sit . The payment system is also funny, there is no receipt of payment . No cutlery or napkins were provided . We ordered the sultan breakfast with extra Parathas and teas , and waited for more than 30 minutes until I had to go to the til to remind them that our breakfast had not been served . Tea arrived which was lukewarm. The girl at the till seemed quite lost and the kid who was the server at the tables was clueless and untrained . Everything felt haphazard. Finally our breakfast arrived with raw/hardly cooked paratha, the extra parathas still missing. Upon reminding them again of our order, the girl disappeared. We kept waiting until we ate our breakfast with a spoon and fork . The last straw was when she reappeared to inform us that they have lost our order and gave us a refund for the two extra Parathas. While all this was happening we noticed the party at the next table also complained about their food (egg being undercooked) . Overall it wasn’t a pleasant experience and I wouldn’t be going back neither will I be sending any of my contacts there . I left the place feeling angry and disappointed. Service is very poor however the food quality was good minus the uncooked Parathas . Hot drinks were horrible. If any owner is reading this plz train your kitchen and staff.

got the carrot cake and it was stale and still partially frozen. they swapped it for a chocolate cake slice which was steamed and warm on the outside then frozen in the middle. they have cash only policy or bank transfer which is inconvenient for customers. coffee was fine.

Lovely decor, great food and the staff were so helpful when we had menu questions, even letting us sample the chai before we committed to a cup! A really good experience.

The food was delivered on time which was great as I was waiting for my morning tea and breakfast. The food quality was average though, and the packaging could have been better as the packets were oily. The Karak tea was ok too, more like store-bought powder than restaurant-made.

First time visitor and I enjoyed a Desi breakfast. The breakfast was a hefty portion with eggs, channa, keema, spicy potato salad and a parantha. I did order an extra parantha to finish the sides. Everything tasted nice and fresh. I also had a Capuccino which was very tasty. I would recommend simply because a lot of places do Desi breakfast and for me, this one stood out amongst one if the best flavours 👌👌

Amazing food at really affordable prices the Kunafe was *chef's kiss*. The staff were so friendly and kind, really made the visit! So friendly to the children that we had with us and had baby changing facilities which you don't always find.

First time at this place for breakfast. Was greeted on arrival and place was pretty empty. We ordered the Lahori breakfast and omlette breakfast . The peri chicken on the omlette was slightly burnt and didn't taste fresh at all. We didnt complain .Food arrived pretty quick. The decor was nice and atmosphere was good. Overall pretty decent place.

I had desi toastie omelette nicely done with keema cheese red onion chilli sauce filling can't fault the toastie unfortunately for me chai was luck warm to drink too milky lack any flavour to it eating area nice and clean no offence could alot a better chai for the price you pay okay breakfast places for desi young ones and desi auntie still think their still at college and un days so they can hold their hold their hands under the table incase they go missing no offence that's my personal experience eating here

Extremely friendly staff on arrival, gave my little one a complimentary drink. A special thanks to Ruqayya. We ordered the egg muffin, and frappe’s, they were absolutely delicious. We would recommend this place to anyone.

This place is a hidden gem. Came here after reading several online reviews and looking at the photos on the Google page. Was happily greeted upon entry. The cafe smells fresh and looks so elegant. Nothing too fancy, not overly done so. We ordered the lamb shakshuka and guaco egg salmon. I was really taken back by the presentation of the breakfast. Understandably there was a bit of a wait as it's made fresh. But; it was worth the wait. The paratha was made fresh. You can tell straight away it's not frozen and was crispy and hot. As I went during the week and mid morning; there was ample seating. The music gives it a nice vibe when having your breakfast. Again, music wasn't loud. I could easily converse with my partner and hear the music in the background. I wish the business the very best and would happily come again. Our meal came to around £20 including a fresh karak chai. THANK GOD it was a proper authentic version with buffalo milk. Not the cheap warmed up version chaiwala and all these "chai xxx" shops use.

Nice venue, great options to choose from. You can sit outside at the front or inside with little different settings. Price is reasonable, easy parking too. Will be back again !

This is my second visit here. Very nice & lovely atmosphere, came here with my young kid for brunch. They have good seating area. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. We had a great time there. Visit it again. Good place for work online on laptop. I will definitely recommend this place.

Lovely family friendly cafe offering desi style breakfast along with milkshakes, hot & cold drinks and also desserts. They have delicious Pakistani breakfast platters. We also tried their Caramal Frappe & Mango Milkshake which we really enjoyed. Plenty of seating available and atmosphere is comfortable.

Really nice place. Looks lovely and feels welcoming. Went there the 3 days I was staying in Birmingham.... Egg and cheese muffins were excellent as well as the lahori breakfast. Would have liked to have tried the smash burgers but maybe next time. The staff were super nice and welcoming each time and service was fast... Will definitely be coming back on the next visit.. Just reading through some of these reviews and I visited on monday and had a delightful experience.. they were busy during the time I was there but delivered amazing customer service.. however there was a customer making a fuss about the fresh parantas which i didnt seem to understand as the parantas were fresh and delicious.. so if your used to frozen parantas you would REALLY appreciate the taste of FRESH parantas.. I ordered the sultan and the buffalo milk tea is new but tasted just like home.. was greeted by hannah at the door she was lovely and welcoming. Had a great conversation with Dua and she mentioned this new chocolate kunafa crossaint which was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be coming back for the amazing customer serice and FOOD.. highly recommend this place

I recently visited this place, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The prices were unreasonably high for what we received, and the quality of the food left much to be desired. To start, the butter on the bread wasn’t even spread properly, which is a basic expectation. I specifically asked for mayonnaise, and they gave us a tiny pot that was barely enough for one person, let alone four. It felt like they were skimping on even the simplest of requests. The food itself was disappointing. The fish fingers were overcooked on the outside and cold on the inside, which made them almost inedible. It was clear that cheap ingredients were used, despite the high prices. Overall, the food tasted cheap and didn’t come close to justifying the cost. I won’t be returning here again. There are plenty of better options out there that offer both quality and value for money. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.

super friendly staff, pretty decorations & good value, tasty food!! was pretty easy to put together a vegan breakfast. ACCESS INFO: there are 2 steps up to where you order which is an accessibility issue (i dont know if they have a ramp as i just had my partner lift my chair up the steps). the red bathroom emergency cord also did not reach the floor, as it should for easy access in case of an emergency. there also was some furniture in the bathroom that made manoeuvring in my wheelchair quite difficult.

Avoid! Went to Cafe Valor on 18/08/24 at around 11am. Decor was okay. I had seen the videos on Tiktok and thought I'd try this spot for a desi breakfast. I ordered the Sultan platter. When the food arrived it looked well presented. However the quality of the food was awful. The keema was cold and off. It had a strong unpleasant smell. The potatoe curry was very tangy and the middle of potatoe cubes were cold /icy. The Palak was slimey consistency and the eggs were rubbery. The paratha was deep fried but raw inside. My friend ordered the Mediterranean breakfast. The only food that was fresh was the bits of salad and fruit. The eggs were a very strange texture, the mushrooms were canned. Falafel were old and dry, the hummus was from supermarket and instead of giving her Halloumi they put mozzarella on her plate. We were really disappointed. I actually had a sour taste in my mouth after trying some of the food. I have uploaded before and after of the food to show you how much was left. I absolutely hate wasting food but this was bad/off. We called the waiter over who was quite polite then another member of staff arrived from kitchen asking what the problem is. She offered a replacement or refund. I was so put off by the food that we just got our refund and left ASAP. I would not visit again.

Great service, we were welcomed with a smile and it was nice that they remembered us from our last visit. The Food was delicious and warm snd previously if anything was wrong they corrected it or replaced it with a free item. They have always been willing to sort any issues out with a smile. The service it excellent and I would highly recommend a visit. Great staff and always a warm welcome. On our visit today we were even given a hot chocolate on the house. 😊 I will be back again soon.

First time visiting the cafe, such a nice atmosphere as soon as you walk in you feel like you're somewhere else. Staff were so friendly and approachable. Very fast service, order was correct and food was 10/10 I got the Valor sizzler and my brother got the desi breakfast. Very hygienic and tidy, good standards of service, food and atmosphere. Milk cake was so delicious and nicely presented too. I would most definitely visit again, 100% worth it.

Quite disappointed about this order toh. Came highly recommended but the full English had no seasoning or anything on it, very bland and was all squished and delivered poorly. The fish burger was stale and the tartare sauce went everywhere making a soggy burger bun with a stale or over cooked fillet burger. The desi breakfast was not bad but the paratha was hard and cold when delivered. For almost £10 each, the breakfasts were a let down with the desi breakfast slightly better than the full English. I wouldn't order the fish burger again either. The pasta wasn't bad, but for the money, you can get much better overall from other cafes.

Came down from Glasgow for the weekend and tried this place for breakfast. Desi breakfast was the best i’ve had anywhere and the Turkish Shakshuka was incredible too. Service was also 10/10, the staff took good care of us. Will be back here again next time I come down! All the best!

Was a little skeptical visiting this place as Ines is further up the road which I really like. But wooow, it really pays off to try somewhere different! Cafe Valor.. my new favourite brunch spot ! The atmosphere was aesthetically beautiful, and the food.. wow.. the flavours, the portions was amazing!! Service was impeccable and the milk cakes were lush!! Chai was authentically made with buffalo milk. A hidden gem that deserves so much more recognition!! Highly recommend !

Paranta could have been softer and gave only one should give 2 considerimg the amount of the platter. Also give 2 toast instead of 1 otherwise really good experience really enjoyed the food and would come back to try the rest of the menu

I recently visited a unique establishment that offers a distinct alternative to the usual cafe experience. One highlight was the delicious buffalo milk karak chai. We also enjoyed their standout dishes, the Sultan and the Royal Damn, both of which were exceptional. The dessert selection was impressive, with the milkcake being particularly outstanding. They also serve freshly squeezed orange juice. The service was excellent, with enthusiastic and knowledgeable servers who were quick to engage and assist with recommendations. Overall, it's a place worth visiting repeatedly, whether for social gatherings or solo activities.

Abit bland for my likings, crispy chicken wrap wasn't fresh. Seemed like frozen chicken strips used. Desi tea eas lovely. Sultan platter amazing variety but can do eith abit my salt and spice

I ordered a full English breakfast which was 12 pounds. For the portion size I got it wasn’t worth all that money. I’ve had better breakfast for much less that price. The beans were watery like someone added water and cold, egg tasted blund, 1 rusher, 1 sausage overall the meal didn’t taste fresh. 1 burnt toast that was black and had no butter. The service wasn’t even great. Wouldn’t recommend eating here. 😷

Went for brunch. We had desi breakfast which was nice. Not like your normal desi breakfast. Homemade paratha which was a bonus. Many places use frozen ones. Nice selection of food and desserts. Had a nice piece coconut cake. Definitely would recommend this place!

Everything was perfect I went there today and it was beautiful the food was amazing the owner was amazing he was so entertaining always wanting your reviews on how the food is gave me a milk cake for free. Having read a few of the reviews I thought I may call in for a breakfast and see what the hype is, this place is finished and furnished to a high standard and plenty of seating indoors and outdoor under cover. Very warm welcome on arrival and a good menu on offer. Selected the Lahore Platter and it was superb, served hot and tasty and plenty of it for less than a tenner. Great choice of hot and cold drinks too. This was our first of many visits from here onwards. Lovely staff and superb food and drink, if you’re thinking of going just do it you won’t be disappointed.

This was our second visit to Café Valor yesterday, and once again, we were treated exceptionally well, leaving us thoroughly impressed. We opted for lunch this time, and were pleased with the diverse menu options available. We chose the Street Munch and Burger, both of which were delicious and satisfying. For dessert, we tried the Milk Cake, which was wonderfully tasty. The interior atmosphere was delightful, with charming decor like the moon on the wall adding to the ambience. Additionally, they offer outdoor seating, providing a pleasant dining experience. Overall, the food and desserts were amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We look forward to visiting again soon!

This was our first time at Café Valor, and we were thoroughly impressed by the amazing vibes and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by the warm and inviting ambiance. Ayush, one of the staff members, greeted us and assisted with seating. He was incredibly helpful and recommended some dishes from the menu. Based on his suggestions, we tried the Sultan ,Lahori Platter and Lahori Shakshouka. All the dishes were absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor and presentation. The overall experience was fabulous, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Café Valor for its great food and excellent service❤️

Order 2 full breakfast, with hot chocolate drink & diet coke. The food arrive hot, tasted nice and was cooked well. They even swapped sauages for fish fingers. I liked the turkey rashes as an alternative to bacon. The coke I received was non branded, nor diet, quite disappointing as I paid £2.50 for 300ml. It was a name I never heard of 😳 I expected the coke brand for that money. Only thing missing was serviettes/napkins. Overall food was good.

Went here for breakfast and the food was really nice. There was plenty of choice, and you can add and swap items if required. It has quirky decor and very pretty in parts. It's a small space indoors but the do have the outside setting area too for when it's warmer. I'd recommend and will definitely go back.

For Now, im going to say 2 stars on the food, 4 for service and 4 for atmosphere. I will be back again and can change my review. I ordered the masala fish, which comes with chips and salad. First things first, the cost of this is a whopping £12.90, so, ive got high expectations because this is nearly double the price of what you would expect for masala fish. On average you can get a full masala fish, in naan and salad for about £6-8. I was expecting a full masala fish, but instead it was 4 small pieces/chunks, a large portion of chips and salad. Im not going to say it didnt taste good, but the thing is, for the price, this truly *is* extortion. I have no issue with paying high prices for food but im expecting matching quality. I would evaluate it around £6 cost wise. Also, there needs to be fewer chips on the plate and another piece or two of masala fish. You need to portion the plate correctly. Basic chips, basic salad and basic masala fish all for an unjustified price. I am ready to come again and try something else and then update my review as everyone deserves a second chance. Also, it doesnt make sense to serve this with beans...

Visited this place after seeing it on TikTok. Ordered a chaii latte, English tea, lahori desi breakfast and a desi breakfast. The Lahori desi breakfast portion is massive...more than enough for two...didn't realise this till after. The place itself is beautiful with ample seating and everything is well presented. The menu has a large variety of multicultural dishes. They have recently started doing a more self service approach which we weren't really told about and this is something the staff need to improve on. We weren't greeted at the door instead we went up to the till and were told to help ourselves to menus and take a seat wherever we like and come to the till to order when we are ready. The drinks came out first and the food followed after about 10/15mins...it was quiet so quick service, again we weren't given any cutlery or tissues. We saw a stand on the side and helped ourselves. The drinks were really nice however the food was cold and the parathas in the lahori breakfast were rock solid. After complaining one of the waitresses brought out a fresh paratha and we ate what was edible as you can see from one of the pics. We were offered a complete replacement but we asked for a refund instead as we got put off. We were given a complete refund and complimentary desserts. I would try this place again given that I don't have the same experience. I think the staff need to improve on their communication skills so that customers are aware that it is fully self service apart from these issues everything else is great.

We went to cafe valor last week and i have to say it is one of the best cafes I have been to hence felt I had to leave a review. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. We ordered the sultani platter and the lahori platter. Both were made to perfection. The portion sizes are big, you can even share one breakfast platter between two people. We also ordered samosa chaat to go which was freshly made warm and ready for us just before we left. We were served by Hannah whos customer service is beyond compare. She made us feel right at home and catered to our every need.
