Nice welcome, order taken promptly. Unfortunately the server seemed more interested in talking to her friends than serving our food, which as a result was delivered lukewarm at best. This was however quickly rectified.

Lovely venue much bigger than it looks outside. Great drinks menu and the pizza looked fabulous but we didnt eat here. Service was great, friendly and fast.

Incredible Thai street food at affordable prices.

been here a lot and always thought it was lovely, but my opinion has drastically changed. went last night and the bartender/owner was being homophobic, directly in front of me, on a gay date, joking with 2 customers about the “alphabet army”. after having been here a lot, i’m really disappointed. i’m not comfortable supporting a business owner who thinks he can make jokes about such things directly in front of customers in a quiet bar, when he provides a service to the public! the vibe shift after he said those things was monumental and me and my date were both incredibly uncomfortable afterwards, definitely won’t be returning here anytime soon

Would have been 5* but the brown sauce is that cheap awful stuff.

I'm really impressed with this place, and I would recommend it for an authentic bowl of scouse. It has a nice simple menu that includes vegan and vegetarian options.

The hashbrown stack was chefs kiss. I loved that we stumbled across this place on a whim , and although I had oringally wanted to eat in Bamboo I am really glad we came here instead. Lovely restaurant x

A great cafe/bar with great staff/service, coffee and a stack of hash browns. I spent a delightful hour in there drinking coffee, watching the world go by.

What an amazing Liverpool institution. I've not been for 15 years but the coffee, food and service are still great. The meatball sandwich was delicious, thanks to the staff for tipping as a good choice. Great atmosphere for passing some time away from the typical consumer nonsense on a Saturday afternoon.

I visited this bar for my friend’s 21st birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a venue. From the moment we arrived, we were met with nothing but rudeness and incompetence from one particular staff member. I initially found a table and asked if it was table or bar service. The bartender said he could take my order if I was ready, so I proceeded. As he was retrieving the bottle of wine, a blonde male employee with glasses and a headband came over, interrupted, and demanded my ID. No problem—I went to grab it from the table, but he followed me and then insisted that he needed both mine and my friend’s ID. After checking our IDs, instead of processing our order, he walked away, whispered to another staff member behind the bar, and then completely ignored me when I attempted to pay. A few minutes later, I noticed him standing outside with what seemed to be his friends, only to return inside and ask for our IDs again, this time claiming they were fake. At this point, my friend—whose 21st birthday it literally was—had to physically show him how to verify a real ID using UV reflection because, clearly, this employee had no clue what he was doing. No apology, no acknowledgment of his mistake—just a miserable attitude that made us feel completely unwelcome. Meanwhile, a customer at a nearby table was actually polite and wished my friend a happy birthday, a basic level of courtesy that this guy couldn’t manage. The final straw? When we decided to leave and go somewhere that actually knows how to check IDs properly, this staff member laughed at us. Completely unprofessional and absolutely unfit to work in hospitality. Thankfully, we went to Albert’s Schloss, where the staff were not only competent but actually knew how to provide good service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy being treated with suspicion and disrespect for no reason. Avoid at all costs.

Realmente disfruté de este café - fue para el brunch, el personal muy servicial moviendo mesas para adaptarse al grupo de cinco. Tomó orden rápidamente, llevó agua y la comida llegó en un plazo razonable - la comida era preciosa (4 x inglés completo y un sándwich Club) , tamaño de la porción bastante generoso, precios bastante razonables y todo servido en preciosos platos calientes.

One of my favorite places to go in town for food, hot drinks or a bevies. Worked for a few hours from here today - lovely bowl of scouse and a few pints!

It's great, I literally have not a thing to say bad or even mediocre about it. Latte is wonderful, full English is perfect, atmosphere is great, service is friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend stopping by for breakfast!

We visited this cafe today. We ordered Scouse, and although it was quite tasty, it was cold in parts and warm, hot in other parts. So it hadn't been heated properly. The staff were pleasant, but it took a while for us to be served.

Lovely looking place and staff was nice. Asked for an oat milk latte and got regular milk. Had to call over to Order after everyone around us was served. Ordered 'fresh' made waffles with fruit. Thinking I was the first to order those that day as the 'fresh' fruit was still frozen in the middle and the waffles were obviously from a packet...... The food wasn't necessarily bad but not worth the £10 at all 🙃 Can't recommend

My wife and I have been going for years and it has lost a lot of its character and charm but final straw was being snapped at for moving towards seating after being ignored by two serving staff. We’ll just spend our money elsewhere lads

Entré en Café Tabac después de un viaje de compras de Navidad con mi marido ... Nos recibieron instantáneamente con una cálida bienvenida por el encantador Rohan y Abbie. Nos llevaron a una mesa inmediatamente y Rohan amablemente nos pasó por el menú y nos ofreció recomendaciones basadas en nuestros gustos. Nos decidimos por baileys chocolates calientes que eran deliciosos y el servicio fue rápido. Disfrutamos del ambiente acogedor y la sensación de comunidad. Ejemplo perfecto de hospitalidad - servicio amable, personal, pero también eficiente y profesional.

Como siempre, martini sucio perfecto (no en el menú, pero ese hombre sabe lo que está haciendo!!!! } así como otros cócteles magníficos, y un servicio absolutamente encantador del personal como de costumbre - son increíblemente eficientes y encantadores. Uno de los mejores lugares en Liverpool - no se vería fuera de lugar en el West End de Londres, e incluso lo mejoraría. Me encanta este lugar.

Overall a decent place but the man who appeared to be a manger (without any uniform) was extremely rude and ruined our vibe. Absolute arrogant man who has no respect towards customers. I also noticed multiple reviews about him and it seems everyone had the same experience. Will never be coming back to this place because of his disgraceful attitude.

Food was decent but that's where it ends. The waitress took our order of two English breakfast and gave us one English breakfast 40 mins later and forgot the other one. The atmosphere was really loud throughout the time we were sat there because of the coffee machines. Ruined my visit to Liverpool 😡. Also it was £13 for one English breakfast and no tea included, must be having a giggle

María y Tom eran geniales - visita familiar desde Australia y la mejor comida que hemos tenido desde el aterrizaje en el Reino Unido. El desayuno era excelente, el servicio impecable y la música que suena para colmo - era increíble ... . ¡Toda la mejor música de los 80! Recomiendo encarecidamente - usted no será decepcionado.

Tenía huevos fritos fantásticos en flor tostado y dos ollas de té (¿qué puedo decir - me gusta mi té). Gran precio (y muy buenas bolsitas de té - de nuevo... Me gusta mi té). Así que llenar - no necesitaba comer de nuevo hasta que llegué a casa en Wigan después de las 3 pm. Personal encantador! Volveré a desayunar aquí en mi próxima visita.

The staff were very attentive, friendly, and humorous. We opted for the vegetarian breakfast, cooked well and which was very filling. Cappuccino was nice. The place was busy, but we were served fairly quickly and had the option to sit outside.

Came in for some drinks with family, the cocktails were great and the staff ( Abbie & Talia ) were amazing and provided great service!

As a regular visitor I decided to take a group of friends as a celebration of a Baptism ceremony. This was their first visit and we received such a personal experience from Sophie and Maria. They went over and above and provided such a wonderful customer service we will definitely return again.

Organised a film night at cafe tabac for my birthday party and was incredibly happy with how everything went. Not only is hiring the back room for a group free of charge, but the versatility and freedom you have to make the experience bespoke and personal exceeded expectations. We were served mostly by Abbie and Rohan who were lovely and attentive and added to the overall experience. Have been coming to tabac for a while and would recommend it to anyone.

Cool place with great cocktails and extremely helpful and attentive staff, overall service was great, we were seated immediately despite being a larger group. However I ordered a ceaser salad for £7.95 which showed up as a very small portion of lettuce and dressing no parmesan as described and an overall very disappointing portion. There was an option to upgrade to chicken for £2 or bacon for £1.50 which is a bit cheeky considering you’re already paying eight pound for a bowl of leaves and bottled dressing. Disappointing food but can’t fault the staff, vibes, drinks and service.

Massive thank you to our waitress Abbey who served us tonight. The coffee was excellent the service she delivered was brilliant. She genuinely brightened our night and made us all laugh so I thought I would leave her a review :) thanks again Abbey!

Pancakes were burned and served with back bacon, which doesn't work. Tiny bit of maple syrup provided and no butter. Hot chocolate was basically warm brown water and iced coffee was extremely bitter. Overpriced for what you get, and sooo not worth it.

genuinely a fantastic place with good atmosphere and drink selection, however, the man who appears to be the manager in his mid 30s who doesn’t wear uniform is unbelievably rude, condensing and overall not a nice person. Apart from that thing, the place is great however avoid being served by him unless you want to get talked down on.

We loved the food in here, the waitress was lovely and extremely helpful and she left us to eat and chat, there was no pressure to eat and leave. Fabulous food and plenty of it.

We hired out Screen Tabac and it was perfect. It was smaller than I originally thought but was very nice, would say it got very warm but the staff provided us with a fan and they went out of their way to create cocktails that weren't on the menu.

I love Tabac, a true jewel in the crown of Bold St, such a cosy atmosphere and a fascinating history. Long may Tabac reign!

Only issue was the guy kept turning the lights up where we were sat which was kinda ruining the atmosphere but otherwise it was a great little evening. Do love it in tabac

Lovely quiet breakfast at the top of Bold Street with a view of the Bombed out church if you sit outside. Really nice vibe especially on a warm sunny morning 🌄 if you sit outside. Inside the cafe its nice and light due to the glass front. Not too busy although by 10am it had liven up somewhat. Table service was quick and breakfast served within 10 to 15 minutes. I needed 2 tables due to doing some work too. The waitress was more than happy and suggested pushing them together. The tables are quite small but designed for small meals really. The food was really nice and the poached eggs still hot on arrival which is tricky. Portion size was more than acceptable too in this instance. I really enjoyed my experience. Thanks

We bring our puppy here , he absolutely loves it. The staff are the kindest girls ever and fuss over him , definitely the best cafe in Liverpool , they make you feel so welcome. Food and drinks are lovely and they even have water and pupachinos 🐶
