Bold Street Coffee in Liverpool

We visited as a group of 3 on a busy lunchtime, we were lucky to get a table as it was so busy. It had a great buzz and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional- very tasty and lovely sized portions. I’d definitely love to come back next time I’m in Liverpool.

I consistently enjoy coffee from Bold Street Coffee, and I firmly believe that it stands as one of the finest coffee shops in Liverpool.

Lovely place had a great vibe to it and the coffee was delicious definitely the best tasting around. The only let down was while waiting to be served,I was looking at what baked goodies to buy and noticed gnat like fly landing on the baked cakes.I made a member of staff awear. She informed me they know about the flies. I decided not to purchase a cake. 4/5

Like a lot of these trendy coffee shops, it’s way overpriced. £3.95 for small cappuccino.

I was shocked at the £10 avocado toast which was just a very thin small slice of bread with a lot of flavorless mashed avocado on top. There were chili flakes but that was it. I had to add salt and pepper for taste. The coffee was ok but the benches were uncomfortable. I won’t be going back!

Great service, staff are brilliant as is the food. They serve a lot of people but the place runs very well, really like it. Great breakfasts.

Visited on a Sunday morning for brunch whilst visiting Liverpool for the weekend. It was packed, clearly very popular, but the wait was short and we soon had a table. Food & coffee were excellent (pancakes with maple syrup & bacon, and eggs benedict). Friendly staff. Would recommend and return. Happy to frequent a an independent business over a corporate.

Nice coffee but it takes itself too seriously. It's almost as if they only want a certain type of person to frequent; i.e arty farty students who will pay 2.75 for a can of water. The female staff in there also struggle to smile and are often a bit rude either knowingly or otherwise. I'd suggest Costa going forward. Or 200 degrees down the road.

I visited here recently for breakfast and both my partner and I ordered a sausage and a bacon buoy, their signature breakfast sandwiches, which had come highly recommended to us. The food was served quickly. The breakfast was lovely, it came as a sausage patty and not the traditional type of sausage. This was served with scrambled eggs and cheese. Although nice and of a decent size, at £12 it was very pricey for what you got.

Saw this place several times walking by and kept meaning to try it. Finally had some time to drop by today and loved both the coffee and the environment. I normally need to add a good amount of sweetener to coffee to like it, but I tried theirs without anything added and just kept sipping away as-is because it was quite good. Love the vibe in here too. The food at the next few tables over looks quite delish, so I think I'll need to return to try that too. I'm loving the music here too. All around, a great place.

Stumbled across this place while looking for a quick coffee, but ended up ordering brunch. The service couldn’t be faulted and the food was amazing. I had a full cooked breakfast, which in no way felt fatty or greasy, it was top tier! Great atmosphere, too!

The batch brew is probably the best ever. Actually it's just all great coffee there, and the food is impressive. Love it.

It was pretty busy on the main floor when we arrived, so we were told we could sit downstairs, which was blissfully empty at first but started to fill up soon after our drinks were brought down. My friend was very impressed with the matcha. I had the Arnold Palmer (fruit tea topped with lemonade), which was lovely and refreshing on a hot, sunny day. I'll be sure to check out the Manchester branches soon. 🍵

Came here a few times with my partner. Staff are always friendly, coffee is great and the breakfast menu is amazing and really good value for money. Best breakfast on Bold street and I’d go as far to say it’s quite possibly the best breakfast in Liverpool. Highly recommend!!!

The best coffee, by a long way, that I’ve had in a trip through the UK.

No doubt the food here is good, as is the coffee. However, I take issue with charging £2.75 for a can of still water. I do not think that this is justifiable. I know it is not cheap to run a city centre hospitality business in Liverpool, but I just think the prices here would put me off coming again. Sorry guys.

Absolutely superb coffee. As good as it gets!! A coffee full of aroma, flavour and trully velvety. Sandwiches are also superb. The staff are great fun a very upbeat atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this cafe! I had wanted to try bold street coffee since long and I finally visited this morning! Me n my boyfriend got iced latte and iced mocha along with the dark chocolate almond cookie. The cookie stole the show because it was simply delicious! The iced latte was okayish. I asked for hazelnut syrup but idts they put hazelnut syrup in it. The iced mocha was really good tho. We also loved the atmosphere and chill vibes. I’m definitely visiting again!

Was recommended this place from a friend and I can definitely see why! Wonderful place, lovely decor and layout. Lovely to see all the photography on display. Coffee was incredible. Really flavourful and a great selection of drinks. The food was so tasty and came quickly even though the place was really busy. Service was fab, staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, and great choice of drinks. We had a little wait on a Saturday morning, but our expectations were managed regularly and appreciated the honesty from the staff of wait times. Would definitely visit again :)

Despite not being too busy on a weekend morning, Nothing moves in this place, including staff. Slowest service for the most mediocre coffee ever. Also didn't have almond milk or GF bread despite being on the menu. Over hyped. Avoid.

Popped in here for a quick coffee while I read some of my book, The Americano was delicious, the staff very friendly and helped me land on choosing a baked good, a lemon meringue cookie. Which was also delish and captured the essence of a lemon meringue pie with surprising fidelity, the taste of lemon meringue paired with the crisp/chew of a cookie? Don’t mind if I diddly-do! Overall had a nice relaxing coffee although the bloke who brought me my coffee didn’t say a word to me when he brought it, I was all like ‘cheers mate’ and he didn’t respond at all but hey ho, he was probably busy and stuff!

The best breakfast! We visited Liverpool for the weekend and came for coffee and breakfast this morning. Super impressive stuff from bold coffee. The food was excellent, fresh and quick. Coffee is also fantastic, a few different selections of espresso and the perfect temperature. Really great baristas. We've all had a lovely morning here :)

Went on a super busy day, so there was a wait, which is expected. Staff were very obviously under pressure, which showed when they interacted with you. Was asked to move multiple times when waiting for my coffee but was difficult to not be in the way with the amount of people waiting/ limited bench space left to sit on.Got an iced dirty chai, I enjoyed this but have had nicer. Breakfasts look lovely, would come back to try these.

The woman with the red hair was extremely rude! As we went to sit down, she told us we needed to go and sit on the bench and wait for the table (even though it was free). We sat on the bench for about five minutes before the table was given to two people who had literally just walked in! We left after this. I will not be returning.

Great coffee and food, but the service can be slow due to it being super busy, especially on weekends. The atmosphere is a bit chaotic for me personally, so if you don't like loud, fast-paced cafés, I would recommend getting takeout.

Visited recently for breakfast while having to kill a couple of hours in town. The food was great, the iced tea and coffee were excellent and the atmosphere was pleasantly chaotic on a sunny weekend late-morning. As they accept take-out and sit-in orders at the same time it can make the venue seem much busier than it actually is upstairs, they also have a downstairs seating space too so things aren't always as they seem - well worth another visit.

A little on the expensive side for food, however you get what you pay for in this location. The coffee is superb and is genuinely some of the nest in liverpool. Nice and casual atmosphere.

I am an American tourist. We came here for coffee because my friend is a coffee expert and he thought it was good. I had the breakfast sandwich and liked it. A cool laid back place that is very busy.

Looked busy but staff directed us to seats straight away. Food simple tasty quality. Well labelled and plenty of choice. Good service. Happy to come back to try pancakes!

Great, simple but tasty food, attentive staff without being in your face. Good and accurate information on the menu . Quality ,clean, relaxed. And open for breakfast at breakfast time! Their signature Buoy was just what was needed.

We entered the cafe and found many people waiting inside. Then a staff directed us to underground level. We were supposed to order a sandwich. But it’s not being served during that moment. Thus, we simply had cappuccino. Taste good.

Bad service, long waiting time. I asked a young guy crew about my hot chocolate (turned up to be assigned on food prep) and he told me to check it myself at the till. When hot cocolate came after a long wait it was lukewarm, cold after 5 mins. Who drinks lukewarm hot chocolate?! There's a reason it's cslled hot chocolate! Never again!

Came here for a coffee and was lovely. My only suggestion is to please avoid playing club music on an afternoon - no one was enjoying it and it’s not pleasant having to shout over it.

Whilst staying in Liverpool Bold Street was recommended to us as a place to visit, according to Trip Advisor there are a few cafes here so we walked the length of the street and only one cafe seemed to be busy (and as such popular) and that was the Bold Street Cafe. We were shown to our table and given extensive menus to choose from, catering for all, I had the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious, my wife had Avocado on toast and the others had the BSC Fry and the Scrambled Eggs with a side of Creamy Mushrooms, we all had either tea or coffee too. As we were leaving we all agreed that that was the best breakfast we had had during our short stay in Liverpool, so much so we returned the day after for a repeat performance ! It’s a pity it’s 170 miles away from where we live !

Coffee is great as always, but I can’t say the same about food :(. It’s always tasteless, for me it seems that it is made without a cook’s soul. I remember I ordered a scramble with salmon and there were only a bread, eggs and a smoked salmon.. nothing else.. no sauce, no decoration, no toppings. they didn’t even spread any butter on a slice of bread… they charged 13£ or 14£ for it

I ordered salmon with scrambled egg and toast and left it. Absolutely revolting the so called scrambled egg was rock hard and had clearly been microwaved. Went somewhere else to eat

I ordered a coffee, chap at the counter said he’d bring the drink out to me as I was sitting on the cool bench outside. Subsequently, folk came in after me and were squared away with their drinks. Some 15 mins later, I popped back in and asked the chap if he forgot about me. He replied, ‘it’s been busy’. I guess My money meant nowt. I’ll be taking my money elsewhere if you are going to skip my order and serve others ahead of me. Another one for entry into Liverpool’s Green Book 🤷🏿 Thought I’d give them a try again. The Barista blatantly served the blonde white woman first who paid for her coffee after me. Sheepishly, he said when questioned ‘I didn’t know if this was for takeaway or not’ waving a ticket. Dint even apologise. I gave them two years, I’m done. I’ve heard other POC people mention to me they didn’t feel welcome. Costa it is.. Shame, nice coffee.

Great little cafe with great food. It’s not on the menu but they have gf bread which you can swap out for any of the bread options. The staff also had a good understanding of coeliac disease. Overall great experience.

Have been a regular at Bold Street Coffee since it opened. I am hooked on the coffee - the method used and the taste. It was the guest filters that made the difference. However since the ownership change the coffee service has diminished. They stopped with the press coffee and only had filter already on tap. This morning no filter coffee. They are now in the same market as costa, cafe Nero and all the other mundane chains. It’s a shame.

I had an amazing caramely nutty Flat white and a bacon sarnie - as much as I love my bacon crispy there's a fine line between crispy and cremated. Left a burnt aftertaste and was falling out of the sandwich rather than being contained - not good for a takeaway. But otherwise warm, friendly with great decor and photo gallery on the walls which are also for sale.
