CAFE SOLO woodford in Redbridge

Went with a friend for lunch. We decided to sit outside as the weather was good. We were the only ones outside but there were a few people inside but not overly busy. There was hand sanitiser by the doors The service was very prompt and friendly. The lady said that if we did get cold we were welcome to come inside. I had a halloumi burger and my friend had an avocado sandwich. Both were excellent and came promptly. The café did have a note on the door saying they were closing at 3pm due to staff shortages. Hopefully this will be sorted soon.

Shocking service, arrived 2.15 Friday afternoon, explained I was looking for food but waiting for my son, was given menus, 5 minutes later another customer came in and was told the kitchen was closed, no attempt to tell me, so I asked and was told yes , kitchen closed. Poor customer service. People !

5 of us went on Christmas Eve for a sandwich and a coffee - we all ordered something different and every single order was wrong. After the 3rd time of sending something back someone came out of the kitchen to speak to us (not to apologise) and the waitress told him it was our fault, that we were given what we ordered and had changed our minds. Despite, my vegetarian son being given a ham sandwich and avocado in my daughter’s sandwich which is her most hated food. In the end, we Just ate what we were given and swore not to go back. We also advise other people to not bother going there, which is a shame because usually we like to support local businesses.

What lovely smiley folks serving great good and make you feel welcomed ! I had an omelette with salad and a large pot of tea...all under a tenner! Thank you : its much better than a national coffee chain outlet across the road !

I came here for a coffee before work and the owner was so nice he came and sat with me and chatted to me. He really devoted his time just to me and was just so lovely. Every time I come here, nothing is too much for him and the food he cooks is fantastic. The prices are reasonable and the position of the Café is brilliant as it’s not far from the station itself. I will be coming for many times to come in the future, that’s for sure!

Good local business which serves tasty food with excellent service. Also they do a good selection of drinks. Highly recommended

Very friendly bloke behind the counter, serving. The food couldn’t have been better. We can’t have been the first tourist in a strange town wanting a toilet, and deciding to get a coffee, so we could use the facilities. When we when in, we were impressed. Not least by there being, obviously, local families enjoying a meal. So we decided to try a meal. The style seems, largely, to start with something like an omelette, jacket potato, bowl of pasta etc, then add to it from the list of extras. As well as sandwiches or baguettes. My wife had a mushroom omelette, I had pasta with grilled vegetables. They were both very good. And the prices very reasonable. Also, for a small town centre, the view across the green was interesting. Incidentally the toilet was fine. Just the one for ladies, gents and disabled

Really good coffee and lovely food at great prices. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are cheerful and efficient. Child-friendly.

Popped in why passing, food was well presented and tasty. Cafe was clean and tidy, can’t not be happy

Service was efficient and friendly, we were able to mix a few items from the menu and asked for smashed avocado with our poached eggs. Nice and cleanly decorated. We didn't feel hurried and it wasn't noisy like some places.

Had gone to Woodford to meet up with a pal who had recently moved into the area and on what was a very miserable and drizzly day,stumbled on Cafe Solo. Initially went in for just coffees but liked the warm atomosphere within. Service was friendly and efficient,drinks were made exactly as ordered and staff attentive to our needs.We thus decided to have something light to eat as well. One of our party has to follow a gluten free diet and although no special menu is offered,some dishes naturally do not contain gluten. The owner/chef came out to double check what exactly was permitted for that person and to ensure that everything was done correctly.All done in an extremely easy manner, a real desire to get things right for the customer. A very pleasant experience indeed,felt we had value for money and also felt that we were not "hurried". Will return.

Sat outside on a very busy day so service was slow. We weren't offered menus but there's a huge one in the window. Nice food. Basic cheese and tomato panini with a pot of tea.

Okan and his staff are excellent at making this a home from home and always give us a warm welcome. The breakfasts are great, and the menu is good. Lunches are popular. Great for brunch and a chat or read of the Sunday papers. Comfortable sofa style seats and many regulars make a good atmosphere. Try some grilled haloumi with your poached eggs and bacon on toast - lovely! if only the council would cut back the huge trees outside a bit, it would be sunnier in the summer sitting outside.

Had an English Breakfast here - was average. The scrambled egg was a bit too dry and unfortunately probably wouldn't have the big breakfast for the price, unfortunately.

I arrived at Cafe Solo which is very close to Woodford Underground. Busy on a Saturday lunchtime with regular customers, a good sign. The menu choices are extensive and the prices fair and include panini options together with jacket potato variations. Friendly, efficient staff and well produced food made for a very good experience and I would certainly call again

Mejor en Woodford, de lejos, me encanta un desayuno inglés completo y he probado la mayoría de los alrededor de Woodford Green, para mí el desayuno es principalmente sobre la salchicha y este lugar sirve el mejor. He set 2 y siempre tienen huevos escalfados. Estos son cocinados perfecto cada vez, tostadas y té o café.

Great little cafe with reasonable prices, great choice of food & drink and friendly staff. Wifi available (didn't use so can't comment). Prefer going here than some other well known coffee houses

Great little local cafe. I've always found the breakfasts nice and excellent value. They offer a set breakfast deal £4.95 including and coffee or tea.

Muy decepcionado, ordenados salmón ahumado, huevos en tostadas y lo que llegó estaba pasada huevos revueltos en barato pan con persiana metálica de salmón en el huevo!! Nunca he tenido sirve salmón ahumado en los huevos este camino. Un timo. Café era tan malo-barato. Evitar!

Independent cafe, perched on a hill with terrace seating outside in the sun. Good value snacks and lunch - often with £5.00 food and drink deal.So much nicer than the dull chains of coffee shops.Perfect for a cool down with the kids - Milkshakes all round !

I go into café solo several times every week and have done so for a number of years now it is much improved with the change of ownership. In fact I treat it as my Woodford office. An excellent place for short business meetings, perfectly cooked and served food. The owner eats there. He is a congenial hard working man. His staff are all charming. If I happen to be in the West End and in need of a coffee, I wait until I get home to Woodford to have it at Café Solo. I do not recommend the other chain coffee shops in Woodford, I have tried them all they do not compare with Café Solo.

I am not sure if this cafe has changed hands but went in today for a sandwich and coffee and they got the order wrong, waited ages to have our order taken and the sandwich was nowhere as good as it was previously.I live 30 miles from the cafe ad make a special journey just to go there. Not sure if I will waste the time and petrol again as its nowhere near as good as it was. How hard is it to do a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich. The salad of three small pieces of lettuce was a waste.

We go to this café regularly, whether just for a cup of tea or lunch.Orcan the owner works tirelessly to make sure all his customers are served promptly and has recently produced an excellent new menu.They produce great food and many different, interesting dishes from a very small kitchen, amazing.The chairs are comfortable, service attentive and food great.Great to support an individual doing really well against the chain offerings.

Popped in for a sandwich and coffee couldn't fault either so I will return it was pretty busy so that tells you something.

This is an excellent coffee shop that sells light meals and snacks at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and courteous and the coffee is always first class. The place is always clean and tidy and the staff are always clearing and wiping the tables. There's a great selection of sandwiches, rolls and snacks that are all freshly made. They also do takeaway. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing with soft and comfortable leather seating - nothing like a greasy spoon. I don't know how the other reviewer thought it was. We go regularly and enjoy it every time we go. It is near to Woodford station and if you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

Good if you want a quick cheap bite. I had cheese on toast. I'd asked for onions but it arrived without, and i had to scrape most of the cheese off because there was way too much. On the plus side the bread was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special but then it is more like a greasy spoon than a 'cafe'. The flat white was good.
