Cafe Shack in Croydon

My friend and I visit here every other day or so for a hot chocolate or latte. Staff are very nice and friendly. Food is excellent quality and quick to arrive. Does get busy especially of a weekend but well worth it.

A lovely welcoming cafe. We all ordered breakfasts and the food for very nice and big portions! It was a little gem and really made a good start to our day. Will definitely be returning very soon!

Was looking for a regular place to meet a friend - great position - very sad to see no reviews since January - and that was a terrible one! Come on Cafe Shack, you can do better. Will try you but you should make more of an effort now social media is so important!

I’m extremely disappointed with the service my friend and I received as the food was really good. When I was ordering our waitress made me feel stupid as I was asking questions about a set breakfast and she replied with”oh my god it’s not hard” which I was thought was extremely out of order. By the time our bill got to our table she told us that it’s cash only, there was no sign on the door and they did not notify us when we came in which I feel was their responsibility to do so. Furthermore, the cash machine next door was not working so my friend had to walk 20 minutes to the next cash point. When we finally paid I told the waitress it would have been nice knowing it was cash only and she replied with you should always have cash on you which was completely unacceptable. She also went on to say their business has been there for 12 years so we should know it’s cash only so I replied saying we have never been here before. She asked where we live and we said down the road and she was shocked we haven’t been in her cafe before but because we live so close we should somehow know about the payment situation. She refused to take any accountability as she told us we should have asked when we came in which I believe is her role as a waitress as we are coming into her business. We will never be returning.

We love Cafe Shack, been going there for years for the friendly service, great milkshakes and large portions of tasty food. However..our last visit left us feeling a little sad and still a little hungry. Where is the friendly waitress? Why are,the portions so small now? Theyve shrunk! The milkshakes are smaller, the buns are smaller, the plates seem, well smaller.... whats going on Cafe Shack?

We had a such a lovely sunday morning breakfast here.Its a family run cafe and you are sure to feel the warm welcome. Would recommend to everyone.

Superb local eatery, great menu choices, the usual breakfast combos plus loads of lunch type options plus puddings. The shepherds pie and veg is great, portions big and good value for money. Staff are friendly and do all they can to help. All in all a good place to eat - so good, often chocca weekend mornings! P.S. ice in the milkshakes would be great!

The milk shakes are awesome...this is a suggestion, a few ice cubes I. It would be mega, as it's not that cold on a bolibg hot day. I was getting confused with the frostino when I said to my daughter, I'm sure it had ice and was colder? Put just a few j e cubes in please?? That would be great! Thank you. They are amazing the milkshakes people!!!

Been loads of times. Friendly. Great breakfast food. Brilliant dealing with my autistic son. Good option for quelling hunger.

This place is so amazing that i love coming back here time after time. The staff are all very friendly and so welcoming when you walk through the door. The food is excellent and the service is superb. Great for a chilled sit down or a nice full english after a heavy night. Great atmosphere and such a lovely experience.

Just been here for breakfast, first time visiting and it was great. Full English with toast and coffee, all spot on and great customer service too - will definitely be back 👌

I was driving through old coulsdon when I saw the sign of the cafe, and popped in for a quick breakfast. The food was amazing I had an omelette, food served with a smile. Nice interior , flat screen tv spacious sitting area and they also have sitting area outside. The staff was very nice and it was an all round good experience, I would highly recommend.

These guys here never disappoint. Well spacious cafe with flat screen tv and outside sitting area. The food is delicious, their homemade dinners such as the lasagna and spaghetti are personal favourites of mine. Very polite and kind staff. Definitely a recommendation from me.

This is a lovely cafe really nice staff and great done and great vegetarian options. Not too expensive

We visited for breakfast this morning and as normal they didn’t disappoint. The breakfasts are big and the staff are always friendly.

This cafe is our local cafe and we go at least once a week for breakfast. My husband is vegetarian and ordered a cheese tomato and onion omelette today . By mistake it had ham in it . It was an awful situation as my husband hasn’t eaten meat after being vegetarian for 25 yrs . The staff here are lovely except for the lady who owns the cafe .The owner did not care and when I suggested that it would be a good will gesture not to charge us today she became rude and aggressive. I am so saddened as we love this place . Bad customer experience has just cost this mean woman at least £100 per month .WOULD NEVER GO BACK

We decided to give cafe shack a go as it was busy on a weekday which can only be a good sign (mainly builders as Well!). The staff were very friendly and the food portions generous and tasty. Felt a little hectic inside as it was busy but I think this was only down to it being lunchtime.

The staff are great and very friendly. The foood is good with everything and some you would expect from a descent cafe. They are open 7 days a week.

The best breakfast in coulsdon! Always good service and friendly staff.. nothing is too much trouble even when you ask for alot of ingredients in your omlette!

This used to be a great cafe but since changing hands it has deteriorated remarkably.

One of the very best cafes in the area. Good food, large portions and very friendly staff all done in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The perfect way to start a Friday morning with my old friend. The bacon and tea were especially good.

Cafe Shack is a really busy local cafe. Amazing breakfasts. Friendly, food freshly cooked and kitchen visible to all. Gets packed on weekend mornings - evidence of it's popularity locally.

Good value for money, nice service, nice environment. Not the best food ever, but for £12 for lunch for 2 people, you can't complain.

Worse hangover ever. This place sorted me out. Great fry up only thing that let it down was staff and worse coffee I have had. Shame as I have been to this place couple of times.

Staff are lovely. The food here feels as if Thor, son of Odin himself prepared it especially for me. The bacon feels like the piggies are diving into my mouth, just to please me. The chips remind me of growing up in 1968 Lisbon, Maine. The Tea, Well it was just tea to be fair.

Been here a couple of times now and i don't know what the fuss is about the set breakfast is £6 not cheap the quality of the food is poor the sausages are mushy have very little meat content and are deep fat fried, the bacon is very salty and tuff which is a sign of poor quality produce the chips are probably the best thing on the plate. I know it's a builders type cafe but you are getting charged £6 for poor quality food i won't be going back in a hurry.

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Cheap and the service is brilliant. I would eat here every day of my life if I could.

Could be great but it's the same only fat fried food. I even saw my sausages go in the deep fat fryer. Not a good way to start your weekend breakfast. Never going again.

We are addicted to the breakfasts here. So much so we limit ourselves otherwise we would be the size of a house. The staff are lovely especially Veema she's lovely!!

This cafe is always busy. The food is great, exactly ehat you would expect from that sort of place. Made to order, generous portions and always fresh! Staff is very friendly and always have a nice word for you. This is the best place by far in the area to have a traditional English breakfast. Lunches and dinners are amazing too!

Brilliant "greasy spoon" cafe. Very popular, great value, always quick and cheerful service.British breakfast and lunch food at its best. They do salads too!

After a heavy night out or whenever we want a decent fry up this is the place we always come to. Lovely staff and amazing breakfast!

We are regular here and the service and food are fresh and exceptional. My kid is very well taken care by the waitress. When ever we think about a full English breakfast we have cafe shack infront. Highly recommended. The place is too busy, so be prepared to wait even though they have plenty seating.

We as a family use this cafe regularly, there food is yum portions are good and always friendly good quick service! Also not to expensive!

I live round the corner to this lovely little cafe so this really is my local. Love it and would recommend to all! Veena and all the other staff are always really friendly, and make the effort so we feel welcome. Food is also very good (especially the chicken nuggets and fries) and always loads of dishes to choose from!

We popped into the cafe as family members descended on us unannounced around meal time...........the service was great and portion sizes were good and priced well within our budget. We were a mixed age group and they catered very well for our young member. Service was great, cafe was clean

Great service, portions, people, prices. Excellent all round but limited parking outside. Best to park away a bit and walk.

Called in here as a group of six walkers. We were welcomed as a group, and space was made available so that we could sit together. I'm always a bit sceptical of menus that are as diverse as this one, but I needn't have worried. All of us enjoyed a good meal, well cooked and served piping hot. We will definitely be using Café Shack again.

There are half a dozen cafes in Coulsdon so you pays your money and takes your choice but this is one of the best ones for good, fresh food served with a friendly demeanour

Breakfast is always good and staff are always friendly. My 2 kids love this place for there American pancakes.

We love it here I try not to go too often as I seriously stuff my face when I come here as their breakfasts are delicious and good value for money. The staff are lovely. it's always packed which is always a good sign!

Came across by accident, and glad I did - a rue local cafe, serving good honest food at good prices, with friendly and helpful staff, a great breakfast and a good cuppa. Will return when in area.

A friendly, local cafe, specialising in breakfast and lunch. Open from 06:30 AM to 5PM (4PM on Sundays), with generous portions at reasonable prices. The food's ok, but it is cafe food, after all. A sign says they have a wifi hotspot, but I couldn't find any but secure networks. Limited, on the street parking. Outdoor seating available. Takeaway and eat in. Seems family run and they seem like nice people. I full range of sauces available, at each table, which is a plus.

Regularly visit Cafe Shack and never disappointed, wide ranging menu covering breakfast, lunch and dinner plus much more and lots flexibility to mix and match across the set breakfasts.The place is always busy and each time we have been, which is numerous the food has been excellent, well cooked, pipping hot and delicious. The price is also reasonable, set breakfast is circa £6.00 which includes tea/coffee and toast.Definitely worth a visit.

Love this local cafe! Always welcoming and good honest food at a good price. The fact it's packed with locals on a Sunday morning should say it all.

This is the best café in this area but far!The food is lovely , well cooked piping hot and great choice too.`The staff here are great, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.We go to this café every couple of weeks or so and will keep coming back. We have tried others but the don't compare to this café.
