I visited this establishment on my birthday with three of my family members. We all had a really lovely time, the food was excellent as was the service from the staff working at that time. I took a note of the name of our waitress but sadly lost the paper it was written on. I do remember it began with a B & she had dark hair. She was very attentive throughout our visit.

Sorry to hear this place is closing soon. However, it has been gradually going downhill for sometime. There used to be a real jolly atmosphere, with live singing on a Sunday evening. The food and menu was good too. But now the service is dismal. Today’s visit will no doubt be our last and our order was delivered incorrectly! This was rectified, but meant we didn’t eat our meal totally together. I understand that many restaurants from this chain are closing, which is such a shame. Maybe it’s due to the company not taking proper care of its customers.

I regularly have breakfast here before work and its always great. Order taken quickly by friendly servers and it always comes out in good time. Well cooked,delicious and good value for money. Jack served me on this occasion and he's great and remembered my order as a regular which makes me feel really valued as a customer. I've also been served by Beatta in the past who gives the same level of service. No complaints, excellent!

We decided to visit the whole family today bluewater and cafe rouge. It was a great choice. Many thanks for the wonderful service made by Beata. She was professional and very friendly. Our little one had a little breakfast and we orders grande and veggie breakfasts. We will definitely be back here! Thanks Beata!

Decided on an early lunch at Bluewater today, and of all the restaurant choices, selected Cafe Rouge. Disappointing choice. We both chose the light bites menu, Croque Mushroom and a ham omelette. Disappointing choices. The food was terrible, the tables dirty and sticky. What’s happened to Cafe Rouge? The only highlight was the service. As the server handed us the bill (which was far too much for the quality), she asked for TripAdvisor feedback. Here it is. Improve the quality of food, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. This is not Café Rouge.

We went in today for a late breakfast. The service was excellent, thanks Jack. My husband had eggs Benedict and I had Avo on toast. I asked Jack how the onions on top were cooked/pickled and he asked the chef for me. It was delicious

Came here for afternoon tea with a voucher from Buyagift.com . Would not reccommend . Cakes look and taste like they were bought from tesco. The savoury parts didn’t taste of much . The best part was the cup of tea and the scone but the scone was not home made. For the money spent would have been good for more of a drink option instead of just coffee or tea and more freshly made options . Also the waitresses were not attentitive. They weren’t too polite and looked not happy to be there . For a Sunday it was not that busy but they seemed to still be under staffed . When it come to paying they tried to charge us extra money when we specially asked for only what the voucher covered . We had to argue to not pay extra and eventually a kind waitor/ manager said it was fine and let us leave . Never again .

Great location and atmosphere with windows looking out into the shopping centre. Afternoon tea is a real treat at the end of an afternoon! Genuine care and attention from friendly staff - Natalia makes this place a real gem. I will make a point to visit when I pass.

We really enjoy eating at Cafe Rouge , Bluewater. The choice of menu is great , good value and the staff are always friendly and polite. A great service - we would really miss it if it wasn't there! Great after an afternoon's shopping! Worth booking in advance!

Great ambience with open window area onto The Mall area. Servers are fast & efficient. The coffee & breakfast arrived promptly. The coffee was large , tasty & beautifully presented. The granola breakfast tasty enough but not home-made & tiny!

Glad we came back here. This is our second time dinning here and I have to say that we have seen a great improvement in the food and the service since the last time we were here. The Demi Poulenc was delicious; perfectly cooked. The service was prompt and made us feel appreciated as costumers. We will definitely will be back here a third time.

Staff are so nice and friendly they give a very good service. They do extra mile to deliver a good customer service. Will recommend this place.

Lukewarm fries and cold steaks served on cold plates. We ate a few chips and left the steaks. We told the waiter that the food was cold when he took our full plates away. No explanation as to why the food was cold and NO apology either but we were only charged for our drinks. Whenever we go to Bluewater we have a meal at Cafe Rouge. We will be trying other places in future.

Good food, well cooked and well priced and very pleasant and efficient staff. The only reason I have not given the restaurant 5 stars is the unnecessary loud music (which you seem to have to endure in all restaurants - why?)

I suppose when you see the general manager walking around dressed differently to the main staff in an orange T-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers you get a feeling things aren going to go well. Last night 18th sept around 8.00pm proved this theory right.We walked in to an almost empty restaurant for a coffee. There were 3 of us. I notified a member of staff where we were going to sit but after 15 minutes of us just watching staff almost seemingly avoiding eye contact with us including this so called oddly dressed general manager who was finding cash register till screens more interesting to look at than those wanting to be served, we stood up to leave. At that moment I was immediately greeted not only by one of the staff but also the odd manager. I was asked if everything was ok, which I assume they knew wasn’t, I replied “no it isn’t I’ve been here almost 15 minutes, I’m not waiting anymore for just a coffee”.So that’s it. It’s been many years since I’ve walked out of an establishment but having had several minutes just sitting, watching and observing how this cafe rouge is run it is pretty clear and not surprising when you read this chain of restaurants is going through closures and tough times. If you can’t get the basics right of simple customer servicing by being attentive and making people feel welcome then there really isn’t much hope is there?

The fact the food is at least passable saves this place from getting a lower score. We’d never been to a cafe rouge before, so didn’t know what to expect. A short and sharp interaction at the door where we were made to feel like they’d “found space for us “as it was “just the two of you” even though we’d booked a table… swiftly told the menu items they didn’t have (5+) and then hustled into a dark, dingy, poorly lit restaurant that looked like it hadn’t had any TLC for the best part of a decade. Service was ok, but rushed - nothing impolite but just all a bit short and sharp, the minimum done in the quickest way possible. Glass arrived with lipstick on it, swiftly changed and apologised but still unacceptable. Between us we had the Pate, Duck Confit and Demi Poulet. Pate good but far too much for the amount of bread/toast (better option than the other way around!), confit duck delicious, though potato and spinach sides were miniscule, Demi poulet the miss of the bunch - chicken was a little sloppy as if it had been left sitting in the juices, but tasted good. Pretty much bang average, we won’t be rushing back.

Had a 3 course meal offer with wine here on Sunday.The restaurant itself was clean, tidy and welcoming.Service was really good actually and very attentive and efficient.Most of the food was really good, but the chicken (in the chicken burger) was cheap processd chicken , which I was quite disappointed about and it was barely warm. We did mention it to the server who kindly gave us free drinks which was a nice touch.Overall a good experience.

Me and my family had a delicious Birthday dinner. All food tasty and amazing cocktails. Our waitress Vanna been very attentive and professional. Highly recommended Cafe Rouge at Bluewater for any kind of celebration.

We called in for lunch as we had never been before and the menu suited us perfectly. The service was very good despite it being quite busy. My wife and I chose the poulet breton which was an absolute taste sensation! The chicken was cooked perfectly and the roast potatoes were perfect. The white wine sauce was also very very tasty. My daughter had the wild mushroom risotto, this was also an extremely tasty dish. We couldn’t fault the service and the quality of the food could not have been better. Well worth a visit.

Have been here a few times mainly for breakfast but also had dinner hear on one occasion.Every time the food has been of good standard. Place is alway clean.Today however was exceptionally good. We were served by a lady called Diana. From start to finish she was so pleasant and helpful when we were asking questions. Quick with the food and bill. Smooth. Made the whole experience lovely.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Bluewater. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal. Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Cant wait to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Bluewater.

Spot on we the location of the restaurant, close to the car park and close enough to the main shops in the shopping centre. The food was very well presentable and off course delicious! Also I would love to highlight the wonderful service and recommendations from the young pretty lady. Thank you to Monica who make our afternoon very pleasant. We were treated to Afternoon Tea by my daughter for both my husbands birthday and our 47th wedding Anniversary which was today.Let me say I have been before and enjoyed it very much but today was a let down.It has nothing to do with the staff who were friendly and attentive but all to do with the food served which is different to the website.They have stopped doing there famous sandwiches, instead you are given two tiny pieces of baguette with either ( not both ) ham or cheese. One very well done sausage roll and a tasteless piece of quiche.Now to the scones, they are shop bought, over baked , one small scone each and no clotted cream just whipped fresh cream. There was also a well done piece of chocolate cake, carrot cake and some chocolate mousse with cherries.The problem is they are cutting costs by serving small portions, buying cheap scones and even cheaper cream.To say were we disappointed is an understatement. I do not blame the staff they can only serve what they are givenCafe Rouge take note, it does not pay but trying to get back lost profits by cutting costs because people will not return. I will not tell my daughter as I do not want to upset her but it ruined our day.

First time we have eaten at cafe rouge . We went for breakfast . We both had a grande breakfast .with a large pot of tea . The ambience and atmosphere was excellent . Our waitress very friendly and efficient the breakfast was absolutely perfect we can’t find any fault with this place and can’t wait to go back again

My partner and I were given a gift of an afternoon tea voucher at cafe rouge which we were looking forward to using once restaurants reopened again. We made the booking via the voucher provider website. Upon arrival to the restaurant we were asked if we had a reservation and when we said yes we were shown to a table without needing to confirm our name. The normal menus were given to us and when the waitress came to take our order we explained we had a voucher to use for afternoon tea. She then had to go and search for the afternoon tea menus (presume they don’t do them often) and asked what my verification code was. I wasn’t sure what she meant and checked my emails but couldn’t find it. The staff took my printed voucher away from me which was absolutely fine but what made us feel uncomfortable and actually really unwelcome was that they stood next to our table for almost the whole duration of our stay looking at our voucher and using their computer. The restaurant is big enough that they could have gone anywhere to discuss but instead chose to stand next to us. After our food I asked our waitress if everything was ok with the voucher and she said “not sure I’ll check with my manager”. If serving afternoon tea to their customers is that much hassle I do struggle to understand why they offer it in the first place. However, the food itself was good and much better than we expected for the price tag. I wouldn’t return but we enjoyed our visit here, just a shame we were made to feel like an inconvenience.

Popped in for breakfast here before doing some shopping. First time I've actually eaten out since lockdown and Cafe Rouge did not disappoint. I believe it was Diana who derved us, she was so polite and friendly, attentive when I'd finished my drink she offered another.Food was amazing, had a monsieur croque and it was honestly incredible! Great value for breakfast, definitely will come back when I'm next here in Bluewater shopping!

Went for breakfast the staff are very nice and attentive the food however is very average. However they are good prices. I don't think I will return personally.

My partner and I had chosen cafe rouge to go for our long-awaited date night post lockdown and we were so pleasantly surprised. Chain restuarants always seem to get a bit of a bad rep but this particular cafe rouge didn't feel as part of a chain at all. The food was so yummy, I had the French Onion Soup, Poulet Breton amd a Creme Brulee and all of it was spot on and so delicious. The waiting staff and management were what really made the meal for us; Karolina was our server who just thought of absolutely everything but was so non-intrusive. For example, I was fishing out ice in my drink as it was just a little cold on my teeth and she saw and without saying anything, brought me over a spoon to get it out and topped up my drink for me! She was just so lovely and felt as though you were a guest in her home and she was spoiling you rotten. The management and whole team seem to run a cosy, well oiled machine and I would go back in a heartbeat or recommend to anyone looking for lunch/dinner after a shopping trip.

I have always liked Cafe Rouge. My local one in Sevenoaks, Kent, closed down a while ago so when me and the Mem'sahib ventured out today to the Temple of Mammon a.k.a. Bluewater Shopping Mall and espied a Cafe Rouge we made a beeline for it.It was very busy which is not surprising given the lifting of Covid restrictions so, after ordering, we had a bit of a wait. However, it was made bearable by the kindness of Rafael, the waiter, offering us a complimentary glass each of vino blanc - very nice gesture.The meal arrived - fishcake and frites for the Mem'sahib and burger for me. Nicely presented and hot (I HATE lukewarm food). Good meaty burger with a very nice mustard in it. In face, best burger I have had since a memorable one at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town over a year ago.Tasty dessert afterwards and well satisfied.I was most impressed and will definitely be back there on our next excursion.Thank you Rafael.

The food was lovely and the service matched that. It is just a shame that management here haven't even attempted to follow the social distancing guidelines. We were sat winin an arms length of two other tables, even though our table had a 'do not use' label on it. People also could just walk in and eat, so they packed the restaurant as much as they could, rather than taking bookings. It felt like they cared about getting more money in their tills than the safety of their customers.

Sadly my Diet Coke tasted very much like Pepsi and I am normally very good at tasting the difference as I don’t like Pepsi. The waiter’s default question when there was an option of salad or chips was chips? Well one of us likes sweet potato which cost an extra £1 don’t really get that anywhere as they’re grown as much as non sweet potatoes. I had the croque Madame and my fried egg had been fried so the yoke was nearly as hard as if hard boiled. The grease proof parchment on the plates made the food slide as nearly had it in our lap once or twice.

Visited on Thursday so we were able to use the 25% discount offer. Service was OK but the greeting lady seemed a bit off and when we asked to change from a table at the back to one by the window she just waived her hand at us and then left our menu's on the first table and I had to go retrieve them! but the other lady was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed the angus burgers and the chicken all cooked well and the dressed salad was really good.

Food was overcooked and cold Service was awful no customer care We said we were in a hurry and were left for at least 10 mins to order then the menu was useless as most of the breakfast menu was out of stock !!! Wish we had gone elsewhere NEVER AGAIN

We visited Cafe Rouge Bluewater yesterday for lunch, the service was excellent and the restaurant was very Covid aware. We had French onion soup and mushrooms on sour dough bread, followed by an Angus burger served with a brioche bun and trimmings 2 course was £14.95 the food was delicious very hot and freshly cooked. The waitress was very attentive and asked if everything was okay. We will definitely return and would highly recommend a visit.

I've been to this restaurant many time with family members and never been disappointed. Apart from the good food and good atmopshere I feel what makes it is the staff - they are always friendly, welcoming and approachable. Covid measures in place suitable too. I will be back.

Have visited today for lunch with my family. Our meal was delicious and our server Natalia made our day. Prices are very good as well, we went for the set menu for the adults and also ordered some of the kid's menu dishes. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!

My Partner booked Cafe Rouge at Bluewater Very dark inside was thinking of using torch on mobile to read menu, but waitress seated us else where which was a little brighter. Menu is dull boring and overpriced food not that tasty. With so many Restaurants in Bluewater who have got their menu down to a fine art. Skinny Chicken , Nando’s, TGIs Won’t be going back, burger was boring unless you like birds eye . McDonald’s half the price and tastier. Menu needs serious revamp very 90s experience

Went to Cafe Rouge for dinner with my partner. The service was quick and food delicious.I had a duck leg with orange sauce my partner beef burgignion both dishes were tasty and delicious. Our waitress Ella been great very attentive with big smile. We got cappuccino coffee with one made my day as well. We love Cafe Rouge for long time. Nice to see u reopen after lock down and wish u all the best.

We really enjoyed our visit to Cafe Rouge. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the service was excellent. The quality of my son's meal from the children's menu was superb unlike some other places we have visited recently. My older son and I had a Crouqe Monsier and they were delious. My son's said the chips were great! We will definitely be returning here in the future.

Had a table for 3 booked at 6.30 on arrival sat promptly by door host we ate from the set menu which is very good value our waitress ella was very attentive. A little disappointed no chocolate fondant pudding 😢

We went to eat in Cafe Rouge for lunch and we had a great time. Is right the mains took about 20 min to come out but that was because we weren't the only people in the restaurant..it was pretty full. They had in the menu everything we wanted ( only minus I could give is for desert because they didn't have so many ) but that was no problem because the food was great that we were full anyway ,so there was nothing to complain about.Diana is an excellent waitress. The service was great! We were lucky that she served our table. To end in a positive note, Diana constantly checked in on us to make sure we were taken care of . She's a gold standard for service that we haven't experienced in a long time.We definitely will come again and hope to be her the one who will serve our table!!!!

Went for meal last Sunday with my family for lunch. We went greeted by a lovely host, very friendly with professional manner. The food was good, my little one enjoyed it. We look forward to come back again!

When we got to the restaurant we were greeted and told there were menus on the table and they were sold out of a few items. The kids menu only had sausage and mash or macaroni cheese nothing else. The steak, burgers, sandwhiches, fish, Camembert was all aparently sold out on the main menu. We ordered something with a baguette only to be told that was sold out aswell. When we came to pay with cash they refused it. We said we only had cash so what were they going to do about it. They said they only took cash for tips (how convenient) so we had to ask the other people in the party to pay on their card and gave them the cash. The waitress seemed like she didn’t care in the slightest and just shrugged her shoulders. The food was good. Shame about the lack of choice and the attitude.

We were given a Virgin Gift Experience for Christmas last year which was for a 3-course meal for two with a glass of sparkling wine each at Cafe Rouge. We activated our voucher and booked a table at Cafe Rouge, Bluewater for Thursday 13/08. This process was simple and straightforward and we were welcomed at the restaurant 15 mins before our booked time. The restaurant wasn’t busy with approx 6 tables in use. We explained we were on a Virgin Gift Experience and we were told what we could order from the menu. This only included two starters Whitebait or French Onion Soup. We were told they had no spinach, mushrooms or tomatoes. Neither of us like Whitebait so we had to choose the soup which was fine for me but my wife wasn’t too keen but had it anyway. It was nice, but a greater choice would have been appreciated. We were told as part of the restricted menu that we could have any of the burgers and we both chose the Beef Bourgignon Burger with chips. We asked if we could substitute our wine for a soft drink as my wife doesn’t drink and I was driving. We were told this was fine and both ordered a Citron Pressé. Drinks were fine and service was good. Our mains then came but were wrong. We were given a Beef Bourgignon Dish with mashed Potato rather than the burger version we had ordered with chips. We informed the waitress who was apologetic but made us feel as though it was us who had ordered incorrectly. We obviously had to wait a bit longer while our correct order was cooked but that was ok and the food was good. Wethen ordered our dessert and my wife chose Hot Chocolate Fondant as this was one of the options we were told by our initial waitress that was included in the gift experience. She was told that she couldn’t have this as it wasn’t actually Included! She chose Creme Brûlée instead. I chose the two scoops of sorbet and asked for one each of lemon and mango. I was told they had no lemon sorbet! I therefore had two scoops of mango. Again the desserts were fine. When I gave our experience code I was presented with a bill for £11.20. This showed we had been charged £5.20 for the two Citron Presse drinks that we had been told we could have instead of the Prosecco and which were listed on the menu at half the price of a glass of Prosecco. Also we had been charged £3 each for the Beef Bourgignon Burger as that wasn’t included in the deal. This was despite being told we could choose any of the burgers and also that it was no more than £2 greater price than the cheapest burger on the menu. I complained about both aspects of this bill and the manager agreed to waive the charges on this occasion but gave me advice for the future! Frankly there won’t be a future occasion as we felt we had been treated as a second rate customer by Cafe Rouge. It smacked of a complete reluctance to be part of the gift experience scheme and that they would try to squeeze a few quid out of anyone who had the cheek to come in and try to have a meal on the scheme. It soured the experience for us and, despite the quality of the food we had and the polite service received, we did not enjoy it very much. It also seemed very poor that they had no mushrooms, tomatoes or lemon sorbet which should be basic ingredients in a French restaurant. I expected a limited menu but this menu was even more limited by the basic lack of simple ingredients and a poor understanding of what we could and couldn’t have by our initial waitress. I think a chain who are reportedly struggling in the current climate should be making better efforts to get customers through their doors however they are paying, rather than alienating them and putting them off future visits.

Came here yesterday with my family had a lovely time after lockdown, really happy they are open again 😊definitely will come back

Lovely restaurant - clean and relaxing. Nice menu variety! Food was a very good standard and well presented! Lots of mocktail options for drivers :)! Would visit again for sure!

First visit there breakfast was ok didn’t wow me ( cote is our usual place to eat but thought we’d try here for a change ) did find it very dark that dark that we had job to read menu so got our touches on our phones to be able to read it ! Which we found amusing... sadly our eggs were over cooked, coffee not hot, service very slow waitress was lovely but long wait for food. I work at blue water went to use my discount card but was told we don’t give discount on breakfast but lunch & dinner they do !!! Confused ‍♀️.. not been back ...

I came here first time ate beef bourguignon the best dish ever I ate. Had the best cocktail called pear and elderflower delicious. The staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely will be coming back soon ☺️

The staff were really professional and friendly with delightful ambience. The food was absolutely wonderful We had 2 course lunch and prosecco Would not hesitate to recommend this place

Great welcome from friendly staff. Not too busy when we arrived , however by mid day a queue had formed. Good menu with something to please everyone. Good coffee too.

the menu included many classics cooked to perfection highly professional service Comprehensive wine list all French of course but reasonably good value the dessert worth recomending was chocolate mouse

Lovely staff and pleasant sourroundings.We were early for lunch but they happily served us Coffee until the lunch service started enjoyed the food.We all had new beef Burger which was tasty ☺️

We were firstly let down by Ed's Diner disappearing and we were certainly not going in a slim chickens as i like to be waited on and relax at a table as life is hustle and bustle if i wanted to eat in a place like that i would go to a fast food place like McDonalds or KFC. So not sure on what they are playing at as they were always busy and queues!! Well ED's Diner they've lost us as a customer and Cafe Rouge have gained us! I have to say the first impression in walking into Cafe Rouge was a bit rocky the member of staff wasn't very welcoming at the door or when she showed us to the table. I thought okay see how this goes! Then luckily then came along a different waitress who actually couldn't do enough to help and very efficient and professional. So this did end as a very pleasing experience and the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We will definitely return.

Decided to go here for afternoon tea with my daughter as it looked good and worth the money. It was definitely not worth the money. For £29 you got 3 little squares of sandwich half of which you couldn’t eat where they were rock hard. You got a tiny scone each that was rock hard and tasteless. ‘Signature chocolate mousse’ more like chocolate sand with how gritty it was and the cakes were so dry and hard to swallow. Would not recommend this to anybody unless you like eating dry rocks

Ordered starters and main. Very nice. Father in law 91 can be fussy but really enjoyed all dishes. Service good. A good amount of time between meal as I hate being rushed.

As usual the food on the lunch menu at Cafe Rouge was delicious and well presented. We had a lovley corner seat for three which looked amazing Our waitress Ella was absolutly amazing kind and nothing was to much for her thank you for perfect serivce

Visited this restaurant after watching a film at the showcase, we both ordered the same meal which was the new special aberdeen angus BBQ truffle sauce burger with fries. These meals were about £17 each if I remember correctly but I have to say that although the meat itself was of good quality the burger was on the small side and overall a little disappointing. The fries were also disappointing, they were skinny fries about half way in thickness between Mcdonalds and Burger King fries but they were not very crispy and looked pale, clearly they were deep fried only once.

We go there every Sunday for Breakfast. The staff are amazing ... so friendly and extremely efficient Food is delicious compliments to the Chefs. See you all next week!!
