Lovely food. We came here for breakfast. I’m a bit fussy (like my bacon and sausage well cooked) and like hot sauce with most things. Nothing was too much trouble - Tomatoes were beautiful, as was the mushroom - the brown toast and of course the sausage and bacon was spot on. Coffee was lovely as was the fresh pressed orange juice Would definitely come again.

Looked this place up as it was local and stopped in for breakfast. We ordered a full English and an omelette with breakfast tea. We had bounced off a series of franchised eateries and fadderies on Tottenham Court Road, not to mention several pubs which might have been ok in daytime but were noisy and packed in the evening. All we wanted was a light meal and some peace and quiet. And then, just in time, we came across the Café Rio, with its quaint mix of all-day English breakfasts and Brazilian specialities. There was a lovely cake for dessert, too. There was music, but you could at least have a conversation! Prices were very reasonable, and it was all so good we went back for lunch the next day. And because the pasta was so good I'll call it a European restaurant in the summary list...

If ever I've visited a more congenial cafe I'm not sure when and where. If I've had any better coffee in London, please somebody, tell me where it was. Frankly, I've fallen hopelessly in love with this little place...been here at least ten out of the last fourteen days. The coffee is great, the light is great (situated on a corner with great sun exposure throughout the day, but lots of shade from the tree in front and all the lovely plants gracing the patio, it's ideal in this respect) and all the food I've had is superb, but most of all every single person working there from chef to kitchen staff to manager and wait staff are absolutely the friendliest, most accommodating people imaginable. Just interacting with them makes everything else turn to magic.

While living on Fitzroy Street this was a really great little local cafe I could quickly pop down to get breakfast. I've visited a number of times, the staff are great and always seem in a cheerful mood, I'm not sure if this is a family run cafe but it really feels like it so that's always a plus because those are rare nowadays in central London. The prices are on the cheaper side compared to a lot of other cafes and restaurants in the area, they are incredibly reasonable particularly for the portion of food you're receiving on your plate. I was really satisfied with breakfast and dinner here and also they have the cheapest cocktails in London (from what I've seen), averaging at £5-6 and they're much better than more high profile bars who literally serve you fruit juice whereas Cafe Rio uses freshly squeezed berries. I definetly recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a big plate of breakfast filled with food for a reasonable price in a lovely cosy cafe. The only downside is that it seems depending on the day the amount of food you receive fluctuates, I got the Rio steak twice now and the first time it was pretty large but the second I got a significantly larger size, perhaps I'm just being too picky though haha.

It’s a tiny cafe and really popular, so with the limited amount of seating it can be a struggle to get in at peak times. However sitting outside is lovely, on the street but with a sense of being secluded thanks to the plants. Staff are really friendly and it oozes the family run vibe. For such a small place the menu is decent with a range of pastas, salads, sandwiches and Brazilian hot dishes. They also serve alcohol with a large range of wines and a choice of bottled beers.Service of our initial drinks was a bit slow and the main meals arrived at different times, but the quality of the food was good and portion sizes large. However for the high prices that was to be expected.Overall it’s a really pleasant place, especially on a sunny day sat outside. There’s plenty of other options in the area, arguably with better prices, but for the friendliness of the staff and relaxing atmosphere I’ll be returning.

But it has not been easy to find a superbly done presentation with all of the side elements - until I happened upon Cafe Rio, right next to my hotel in Fitzrovia. It was so delicious that I went back three times during the week I was there. After a long day of work, it was a lovely respite to wind down. For such a tiny place they have a fantastic menu. I found the staff charming and helpful, especially as I pondered which sinful-looking dessert to choose to enjoy in my hotel later (couldn't eat another bite after polishing off the feijoada plate with a cold beer). I think most people who have lived or travelled to Brazil will have enjoyed the various snacks and dishes that make places like Sao Paulo a culinary capital. At Cafe Rio, you can get many of those Brazilian treats - pao de queijo, risole, esfiha etc. They also do a good selection of desserts, like the delicious (and hyper-sweet) brigadeiro. They also offer a wide range of main courses, although I've mainly been here to get a hit of Brazilian snack food. They also serve acai, so I've enjoyed an acai and orange smoothie many times. It's a little on the pricey side, but if you miss your Brazilian food, this is definitely the place to go in central London. And the lady that runs it is so sweet! If you speak a little bit of Portuguese, you'll make her day.

This place is hugely convenient (a brief stroll from Warren Street), but feels nice and special.I had a bottle of their Portuguese beer (Sagres - always a favourite) and a lovely smoked salmon salad (very tasty and really fresh ingredients). That cost around £10 (hardly bad for central London).Although I sat outside, it looked cosy and atmospheric inside as well. And the waitress who looked after us was extremely helpful and friendly.Having lived in London for many years, I'd describe this cafe as a little gem, that's well worth seeking out, as you sit with a drink watching the world go by.

My friend and I have been to this cafe twice, and in both occasions we left distressed, annoyed, absolutely disgusted by the service and the attitude of one member of staff. One of the barmaids (the oldest and more experienced one) treats everybody like they are doing her a favour by coming in, literally. She was training a new waitress and continuously kept shouting and being rude towards her in front of all customers and it was just a horrible thing to see. The shocking point was when a group of 5 people came in for a coffee and she bluntly refused (in Portuguese) to give up her table to the paying customers who had to sit apart from each other in different tables. Complete lack of professionalism. They serve nice Brazilian savouries, but the reality is that there are a lot of other places in London with better food and are willing to give you the best service.

We ordered some cappuccinos and French pastries. With it being a fine day we took advantage of the outdoor seating. I recommend relaxing with a coffee and watching the world go by here. A Very nice café - nothing out of the ordinary but we really enjoyed the hour we spent here with our coffees and how relaxing it was in this part of London.

Had dinner at Cafe Rio tonight. My guest, a Moslem, does not eat pork. I asked if the hamburger they offered contained any and the proprietor sent us a message via a waitress that it was all beef. On his third mouthful my guest found to his horror that a layer of cheese in the burger hid a slice of bacon. Greatly distressed, he protested to a waitress who replied that she had been talking only of the patty, not the dish. She offered not one hint of an apology or even any acknowledgement of the seriousness of the matter for my guest. Shortly afterwards the restaurant proprietor came over to remonstrate with us for being angry about what had happened. She showed not one sign of understanding the significance of her error for my very distressed guest or caring in the slightest. There was no apology. She refused my offered payment for my (rather average) dish of black beans in an entirely graceless manner. People with a sloppy offhand attitude to customer needs and service like this have no place in the restaurant business. I wouldn't touch this place again with a barge pole.

How lovely to find somewhere with decent food, service with a smile, and quaintness in the middle of London. My omelette was excellent. Handy for UCL and Euston. Outdoor seating.

I been to many Brazilian restaurants and coffee shops in London. But nothing like cafe Rio. Cafe Rio delivery a real taste of home made Brazilian food. As a Brazilian myself, I can highly recommend Cafe Rio with no resignations. My partner who's Australian also loves cafe rio. We love our Saturday lunch in there.Cafe rio is a small but very elegant and heart warming cafe. The food are always well presented, tasty, beautiful and prices are very reasonable. Considering the location and the amount of food served on the plate. The owner is also a legend. Very friendly and she's always there supporting everyone. She always welcomes you with a big smile.I can't recommend the cafe high enough. Well done.

When I'm up near Warren Street, I always try to drop in here for lunch or coffee. It's always full if Brazilians and they serve authentic Brazilian food along with classic English standards like omelettes and sandwiches. Coffee is good & in sunny weather it's nice to sit outside and watch the world go by.

I popped in here for a quick, reasonably priced tea, and opted for the Avo Truffle with a side of Edamame. Good, healthy choices! I made it a meal deal with an Elderflower Fentiman’s, and also got 20% student discount.

Chicken pad Thai was too sweet. And noodles are not the best and chewy
