First time trying a chippy, the crisp was perfect the inside was perfect and the mars was melting in the mouth, ice cream

Loved the chippy with all the sauces. Quick and tasty, big portion for good price. Great location and view of the church. Recommend

Had a tasty chicken kebab here, wasn't expecting much but turned out to be quite good. Deep fried mars bar is also nice, reminds me of blini.

Visited on a city break to Edinburgh. The home of the city’s fried food with friendly staff. Popped in for lunch - would like to come back at the end of a boozy night.

Went here purely for a deep fried Mars bar. We ordered the ice-cream with it and it was a good choice as they definitely compliment each other. Very tasty, but in my opinion, very over priced. For a once off Scottish experience worth a visit.

Food here was good, the piccante burger was lovely

The piccanta burger was actually spicy which was a happy surprise and the pickles were amazing. Staff was also really friendly.

As first time visitors to Edinburgh we went for the haggis, which was delicious. Afterwards I decided to try the deep fried Mars bar. I am not much of a dessert eater, I must say, but this is quite a treat anyway. A bit af salty added to the warm sweetness is very nice. Thanks a lot for the nice food and for inviting me behind the counter to see how the mars bar is being prepared.

I had my jumbo sausage, not expecting more than what it is, but the two flavourful fried sausages come with some delicious chips. Amazing. The staff is super nice and attentive. Nothing to complain about. And the deep fried mars bar? Again, I thought nothing of it BUT IT TASTES LIKE NUTELLA CREPE! I am happy I tried.

It was my first time in Scotland, I went with my grandma, safe to say we both enjoyed the haggis, she didn’t like the mars bar but I genuinely thought it was real good, first time trying both of those, now I’m stuck with the same old English chippy

Had a fish supper about 9pm last night. Took one bite and binned the rest. Fish was chewy and disgusting. NEVER AGIAN.

Just had the pepperoni delight pizza straight out the oven and loved it! Great service too!

I got a 1/2 pizza chips and drink lunch meal for a great price. The foods hot, filling, and quite delicious. I had instant service and had no issue finding a table at lunch time

Good service and Great deep fried mars bar with ice cream, but terrible fish and chips. The fish was so dry and chips were clearly cooked from frozen and had no fishy flavour. I found the quality of fish n chips at just 2 mins walk around the corner to place called The Chippy By Spencer on Broughton to be much more authentically British experience. Fish was so fresh, was cooked to order and the chips hand been hand cut and had the skins on too and been cooked in the fish oils! And ironically The fish at the chippy by spencer is cheaper too!

We tried the cheeseburgers and the fish and chips, and both dishes were perfect. The burgers were juicy and full of flavor, and the fish and chips were crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. We left feeling satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Piccante for anyone looking for great food and excellent service! To add on Selim Sener really looked after us during our visit which made it even more memorable

Came here on Christmas Eve because everywhere else is closed. Did not disappoint!! Great service and really solid food. Especially the chips!

I came here after a long car drive from London to replenish my energy and was satisfied with the price and food they offered. The atmosphere was comforting and the decor was very cool. 7/10, pretty great place to visit if you like savoury food

I've been meaning to visit the home of the world-famous deep-fried Mars Bar and, safe to say, this spot is solid. Food is good, fast service, and friendly staff. I'd especially recommend this spot after a pub crawl. Removed a star for being on the pricier side, but that is the cost one must pay to dine at the deep-fried mecca that is Piccante's.

A very good place if you try to eat at a time other than Scottish. They open late and the food is neither good nor bad, it's a turn off.

Tasty but poor value for money Tasty chips and curry but £6.50 is very expensive for what I got. We went as I used to go back in my uni days, but I was shocked by the pricing to portion size. My friend paid £8.50 for chips, gravy and cheese and £8.50 for nuggets and chips.

Famous fish and chips in the city, also famous for the battered and fried mars (you can also make other sweet bars such as snikers, twix etc etc). So absurd and so heavy, that it is practically irresistible, I ate 3 in a row. Very good and highly recommended.

We came here as a family and it was a blast!! We tried pakora chicken ,mozzarella sticks ( my favourite),onion rings, chicken and lamb donner kebab. Finally we tried the mars and snickers deep fried is scrumptious!!! We enjoyed this so much and would recommend 1000000%

Most expensive and worst chippy I’ve had in a long time. Cold old fish out the pass that had been there for who knows how long… Half the fish was empty cold batter. Always thought this was a tourist trap and yeah…it is!
