Not happy. Told cashier I was allergic to cheese when placed my order. My order was then presented with Parmesan cheese. I sent it back and selected a dish that was £2 cheaper. The manager called Emma then refused to credit the £2 to a cake I was going to buy. She stated that I should not of returned the original dish as it had to be thrown away. So she wanted me to eat a cheese dish and be violently sick, when I told them I was allergic to cheese. I’m appalled at this attitude as people with allergies can die. I will not be going there again

Went for breakfast had bacon bap. Bread was dryish. The bacon was hard and dry like it had been microwaved. Others have said same on here. The hot chocolate was highly overpriced at £4.20 and was nothing special. Therefore will not be visiting again. The garden centre itself is good.

I booked afternoon tea at cafe pacific for my friends birthday and wow we were not disappointed. It was one of the nicest afternoon teas I have had, and I have had a few. The quality of food was fantastic. It consisted of finger sandwiches, a plain and fruit scone each with jam and clotted cream, a selection of cakes and then to top it all there was a plate of lovely cheese and biscuits. It was quite simply delicious. We could also have unlimited hot drinks, not just tea or coffee but hot chocolates or speciality coffees like late. Although I just had a tea and my friend had an Americano. The service was very good and a member of staff popped over to our table to check we were happy with the tea. I will defiantly have another afternoon tea there soon!

I was given an afternoon tea voucher as a gift and this place did not disappoint! Locally sourced home cooked and fresh sandwiches and cakes. I loved the addition of cheese and biscuits. I had to buy some True Grit cheese from the farm shop before I left. Bottomless hit drinks and outstanding service made Cafe Pacific a place where I shall certainly visit again!

Went this morning when it opened. Very clean and the staff is friendly, unfortunately the food is a let down. Firstly, very poor in vegan range. Asked for the smashed avocado on bread without eggs and butter. When served it was slathered in butter. When replaced it was then covered in chili oil which totally ruined the meal. My friend ordered the breakfast. The bacon was hard, either overcooked or over heated. Sadly, a place we won’t be returning to again for a meal.

We decided to take a ride to this garden centre. After a lovely browse we decided to have a light lunch and my goodness what a place, beyond helpful. Usually when I ask for tuna not swamped in mayonnaise it seems to be a firm NO. Not here they met my requirements 100%. Beautiful presentation and a most lovely lunch. Thanks to your awesome staff.

Visited this garden centre and cafe today for the first time. Have to say we were really impressed!!! The garden centre is nicely laid out, organised, clean and bright. Nice quality stuff and prices comparable with other garden centres we go to (Melbicks, Dobbies and Notcutts). Went outside and were impressed with the plants, probably better selection than Melbicks to be fair. Prices were again comparable. It was a gorgeous sunny day which of course helps, everywhere looks better in the sun than if it’s raining. Walked around by the garden offices/sheds and the lawned area was beautiful. Felt like a proper big garden rather than a shop. Very pleasant. Sat outside in the cafe area, really nice. Inside the cafe is bright and clean. Cakes on display looked fresh and inviting. Ordered two lattes, a lemon cake and a scone with jam and cream. Was offered choice of jams. Now…. For those people moaning about price, yes it’s not cheap but nowhere is now. Go to Greggs if you want cheap food. The above order cost just under £18 which is the same as Melbicks and Dobbies. The service was much much quicker than Melbicks. The guy who came out was pleasant and we saw other staff talking to customers who clearly have visited before and asked advice, as the staff were asking how the plants were growing etc. The lattes were lovely. The cakes were lovely and I could have sat there all day relaxing. It was really peaceful and we will definitely be returning. My only wish….. that it was dog friendly. That would be nice. But such is life. Great place. Highly recommend garden centre and cafe.

I rang the restaurant to ask if I could reserve a table for 5 people for lunch, was told only reserve tables for afternoon tea. I explained our complicated situation. we would be taking a dementia customer to recall and hopefully find pleasure in visiting this place as we had done many times before. I explained that we had to book special transport as the customer was no mobile and couldn't travel by normal transport and also that to wait around would cause anxiety. I was told it was company policy and no we couldn't book. I then called customer service explained our situation again only to given the same response, I was told that we would be seated if we turned up, this wasn't acceptable for someone so severely disabled. I find this deeply distressing as did my family . We decided to go to another Garden Centre but, sent the customer in a special taxi with 2 relatives, while I travelled with another relative by car, we decide to call in at Pacific on the way, there was no way we could have been seated there had we arrived as the restaurant was full to capacity. I am appalled at the lack of empathy by this company. I will not be visiting here nor will my family again - appalling !!!

Maybe take out a bank loan before you visit. I think management need reminding that this is a garden centre cafe! Coffees with fish & chips for 4 people came to over £80 .. my visiting sister from abroad found several bones in fish. Chips were undercooked. Service was basic - no smiles, hellos or interaction from the scruffy girl serving us - who's thumb with chiped nail varnish when serving us was in the chips. Will not return !

I used to love it here. Was always my first choice. I hadn't been for a while and it will be some time before I go again! Very pricey for what you get. Very disappointing tea cakes. Small, very flat and slightly over toasted. Three of us got our tea cakes, drinks were slow to follow and the piece of cake took even longer. The young lady who brought it was very pleasant. That can't be said for other staff. Rude, unsmiling. Cleared table before we had finished. It was expensive for what we had. I went to use ladies toilets - what a mess in there. Others remarked likewise. Very, very poor standards today. Will stick to one of other GC nearby.

This used to be a favourite place of ours, until later last year. The meals on lunch menu became about half the size, but a huge price increase appeared for half the quantity of food on the plate. We are all having to deal with a Cost of Living crisis, and I know businesses have their own financial problems during this insecure time, but £9.00 for a jacket potato is I feel, hugely overpriced. The included ‘side salad’ is just an embarrassment, with half a cherry tomato? Please don’t bother. William Wheat’s appear to have got it right! Lessons to be learned I feel. The Cappuccino and Latte prices are the most expensive I have seen for a garden centre cafe, it beggars belief. We won’t be returning to Pacific any time soon, sadly.

My sister and our hubbies took our 94 yr old mother to Pacific cafe for a little treat and trip out from the nursing home she is in. We all ordered meals from the menu but due to mums poor health can only eat tiny portions.so ordered her children's fish finger and chips. The lady taking the order stated that a drink of squash was included so we chose blackcurrant for her. We also purchased her a hot chocolate which we poured into her feeding beaker . We all had drinks too. Total amount was over £72. Which was fine . However they did not bring mum her squash as was supposed to be included with price of child's menu. I questioned this and was told by the waitress that as mum was not a child she could not have one ( was offered water instead).I am furious about this policy as we have been regular customers there for over 6 yrs and mum has always had a child's meal due to her small appetite. I spoke to the manager who quite clearly did not get my point when I pointed out that mum was unable to eat a large meal and felt she was being penalised for being an adult with a small appetite. I told her that they obviously did not show any loyalty to their customers. She obviously disagreed with me. She went on to point out that there is a sign on the counter saying children's meals are strictly for under 12 yrs which I did not see and was not questioned about .I am disgusted with your policy what difference should it make if it's a child's meal or not we paid the price for it. I will be informing my neighbourhood and organisations of this ridiculous policy and I most certainly will never set foot in there again. I am also taking other action after seeking legal advice.

This review has taken longer than expected because I have been in two minds about leaving one. But considering how bad the situation could have been for somebody else, I concluded that I should write one. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, having ordered a chicken sandwich with soup combination, I was served chicken which was 'allergen contaminated' with prawns, which I have an allergy to. The contamination included whole prawns. The manager came out to see me and dealt with the situation politely and offered a refund, cookie for my son, and a new bowl of soup for me. She said that the chef did not know how the contamination had occurred. I understand that mistakes happen, which I why I didn't make a great fuss (mainly because the reaction I had was relatively mild - itchy throat, slight cough, and increased body temperature), and I thought it best not to leave a review. But having heard another story in the media, recently, about how a restaurant's negligence had led to a serious reaction for a customer, I changed my mind. Of course, this could be a one-off incident, but please be aware that something like this can happen and it can happen anywhere - I will certainly be more cautious with everything I eat from now on and not assume that what I order is what I will get. Ordinarily, I would never expect to find prawns in a chicken sandwich. I would have given this eatery another chance, but I didn't receive a refund for my meal (obviously I didn't finish the sandwich I ordered); the manager never came back to process that or check on me in the last 20 minutes (whilst I was waiting to be sure I was okay). Consequently, I will not be eating there again - which is a shame, as they are our neighbours.

Our first visit here as usually visit a nearby garden centre cafe. Disappointing breakfast, scrambled eggs overcooked (microwave?) even baked beans dry, hot drinks overpriced compared to other local cafes. Some reviews say had too wait too long for food but we felt it arrived too quickly for food ‘cooked fresh to order’ as advertised on the menu. Selection of cakes looked good so may visit for again in an afternoon but not for breakfast. Staff not very friendly. Garden centre itself was well stocked and good selection of garden furniture.

Always when visiting family we love a visit to Pacific. Today we thought we would try the breakfast. Staff are really friendly but think today they were a bit short of help. We had to ask for our table to be cleared and the breakfast took a while to come but was good, could have been hotter though. Our drinks order seemed to be forgotten and had to ask and the first person we ask said was busy doing something so we went to the counter and very apologetic and within minutes we had our drinks. To be fair the busy guy did come back 15 minutes later to ask if we had our drinks. A lovely place to wander around and spend, be aware lots of these gifts are cheaper elsewhere but that’s garden centres, they have to make money somewhere.

Visited Pacific for breakfast, which wasn’t cheap at nearly £60 for 5 people. Had to queue for nearly 10 minutes as only one person was taking orders. We were then advised there was a 30-minute wait for hot food. We accepted this, however they obviously meant to say a 50-minute wait as that’s how long it took our food to come out of the kitchen! Some of our party were on a deadline, so this ridiculous wait time basically for eggs, toast and tea cakes meant we were clock-watching and feeling stressed rather than relaxed. Maybe they were short-staffed, but at least have the decency to be upfront about the amount of time customers will be expected to wait. When the food did arrive, the poached eggs which 3 of us ordered were not runny - they were more like boiled eggs. The portions were small, the toast was cold and the tea cakes overdone. I didn’t have the time or energy to mention this to a member of staff and also, disappointingly, nobody checked in with us to ask how the food was. This was a shame as it made our custom feel unvalued. My previous visit before this one was for lunch - my food order was forgotten, so other people in my party had to start eating their food while I had to speak to a member of staff to establish where my lunch was. Pacific used to run more smoothly, so maybe our recent experiences have just been unlucky ones.

We had afternoon tea here this week, a present from a grand-child, and were somewhat disappointed by the experience. It didn't seem to up to the same standard as the last time. The sandwiches look unappealing as they were very chunky with thick bread, when what one expects is something dainty, and surely it should be pssiobole to provide a little salad? Perhaps a tomato cut into four and a leaf or two of lettuce. The scones were excellent but the cake selection was uninspiring - why not a Portugeuse custard, a slice of cake as well as (or instead of) some of the creamy things. Most unusually, when we commented on these matters to the waitress she seemed far more annoyned by our temerity than the comments we made! Again not typical, as the staff are usually so helpful and friendly. We'll be back again (we are regulars) but not for afternoon tea.

Sadly the coffees were luke warm and absolutely tasteless. I returned the coffees, asked for another shot of coffee to be added and for the drinks to be hot! When the drinks were returned admittedly they were nice and hot but even with an extra shot of coffee they were still virtually tasteless. If you charge top prices for a cup of coffee you need to get it right!!!

We’ve been a couple of times recently. The first time my daughter had the children’s ham sandwich with cucumber/crisps etc and it was lovely. I had soup which was also fab. The second time when we ordered the ham sandwich for my daughter again there were thick blocks of carved ham smothered in whole grain mustard. Lovely for an adult, a bit of a shock for a three year old! We had to scrape the mustard off. I also ordered a sandwich on brown, but it came on white. We then ordered ice cream which was supposed to come with a wafer (it didn’t). All little things but a tad exasperating when it’s not the cheapest place in the world.

This a really fab place to go. Been there today with friends for a wonderful Christmas afternoon tea. Wonderful food and drink and really fab staff who are helpful and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious and I loved the fact that we were not harassed because our table was needed. Great place and what a bonus that you can walk around all the Christmas goodies afterwards and even stroke the little back ponies. . We've had a fab day!

The worst experience I have ever had ,I was accused of stealing a plant at this place ,and when I was found completely innocent I had no apology whatsoever. The plants are good quality but are expensive, and the restaurant is extortionate and to small. This place is run by snobs , for snobs. Needless to say I will never be going back.

Staff always very friendly and helpful. Food always brilliant. I meet my cousin there every few weeks for a coffee but always end up having lunch or cake or even both.

We regularly visit this cafe for coffee and cake. We think that the coffee is the best comparing the other garden centres nearby. It provides table service and is a very pleasant place to enjoy a break. If you are lucky you can get one of the more comfortable tables, but it is usually quite busy and they go first. The adjoining garden centre provides a nice stroll and choice of goods, a small produce shop, a gift area and the usual gardening and outdoor furniture.

I visit here often with older people because of ease of location and accessibility but not out of choice.

It’s not a huge centre, but there’s plenty to look at and a good selection of plants. They were putting up the Xmas decorations the day we visited.

Came with family but left disappointed. Breakfast was luke warm and service is impersonal. Much preferred the old Pacific. Feels very Wyvale now. Needs something to make it more unique and not so corporate.

Visited with a friend for lunch, not too crowded and we found a table quite easily. I have often eaten here and am pleased that they have upgraded the cafe recently with new fittings and seating. Good meal, helpful staff and fair value for money.

We visited one day at around 3:30pm, we sat down and saw on the menu that food was not served after 3pm. There is no mention of this on the website, all it says is the cafe is open until 4:30. We chose to come here as other places specifically mentioned they stopped serving food after a certain time. There was also a lack of cakes at the counter. However, the drinks we had were very good.

My friend and I visited the newly refurbished cafe for breakfast yesterday and were very impressed with the lovely surroundings however when we sat down the table was so wobbly that my coffee ended up in the saucer, we moved to another table for two and the same thing happened, finally found a sturdy table and ordered our food. My eggs benedict were undercooked and the bacon on my friends sandwich was a strange shade of grey. It was expensive and definitely not worth the money. On a positive note the coffee was really nice and the staff pleasant.

This was a great cafe before the refurbishment. Still OK but seems to have less choice. No real snacks except for cakes, which are nowhere as nice as they used to be. Dry and bland coffee and walnut. Have tried scones twice, still expensive and nowhere as nice as they were. They used to be the best anywhere but both times they were dry. I know why now! Look through the kitchen viewing area and you'll see the large industrial scale boxes marked 'scone mix'.

My sister booked afternoon tea for the three of us at our favourite garden centre. We sat at a table overlooking the lovely garden. Our order for pots of tea was taken and it was delivered to our table in no time. The sandwiches and dainty cakes and scones along with jam butter and cream soon followed. There were sandwiches for the non carnivore too..… me! All were served by nice friendly staff who even stopped for a chat. The food was delicious and just enough to allow us to waddle round the plants afterwards. A very enjoyable experience, thank you. Looking forward to the next one.

I came here of a lunch time and eat outside in the garden. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, the food was very nice and good portion sizes too. I ordered a club sandwich which came with mayo, coleslaw, and salad and a cappuccino coffee. The service was fast and the staff where very polite and friendly.

Tornati dopo un po' di tempo, abbiamo aspettato una Gionata di sole ed abbiamo utilizzato i tavoli all'esterno. Pranzo buono a prezzi normali. Giardino sempre ben curato ma con prezzi delle piante un po' troppo alti, fossero più ragionevoli ci starebbero 5 stelle.

It was a pleasant cafe. I thought it was a bit expensive for a sandwich, even if it did come accompanied by a large helping of crisps! The cafe overlooks the plant area, but I did not feel particularly inspired. A shop sells expensive food too.

Visited with my two sons for breakfast. Mushrooms and sausages cold very unappetizing. Then visited the farm shop where the assistant closely followed my 18 year oldson around the shop as if he was going to steal something. Made him very uncomfortable !!! Will not be returning ! Also saw your Chef - in her chef whites in Asda - do Environmental Health rules not apply to you ?

We have just taken our friend here for afternoon tea on her birthday. I can honestly say that it was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. Lovely fresh sandwiches, amazing cakes and mini cheesecakes, all delicious. It was very busy but the service was very efficient and the staff very friendly. A nice atmosphere and obviously very popular. Will definitely be returning soon. Many thanks.

My friend and I decided to call in for breakfast to take a look at the newly refurbished cafe. We ordered 2 poached eggs and a bacon bap. The food arrived but sadly only 1 poach egg was served on the plate and the bacon was so tough it was inedible. We called the manageress over and she provided us with feeble excuses for the mistakes. The excuse that really made me laugh was that "the restaurant had only recently re-opened and the staff were getting used to the new kitchen............". How hard is it to cook poached eggs and bacon??? However freshly cooked food was then served . The cafe should really do better, especially charging £4.95 for a bacon bap!! On the positive side the refurbishments were an improvement.

We've been regulars at Pacific for years ands now, since, the alterations, it's become even better. Service is first class, the staff are efficient and friendly and the food is as good as ever, particular the cakes. The new décor makes the place more comfortable and the change to waitress service is also an improvement.

Nice, just, food EXCEPT, you will lose many customers if you continue to use the cheapest of the cheap teabags bottom of the barrel margarine and 20p bread?. Never heard of Anchor butter and Yorkshire teabags, they might just give you the boost you need to get back some irate customers.
