Ordered two crab sandwiches latte and a beer, £35. Staff need a pick me up or it’s been a hard season. The crab sandwich was good, spoonful of coleslaw, frozen chips. Was told to help myself to a glass for the beer, everyone looked not properly washed, picked the cleanest but still had bubbles down inside indicating grease. Latte was tasteless. Not a pleasant experience won’t be back.

Perfect lunch stop when exploring the area around Solva. Lovely to sit on the balcony enjoying the view whilst having lunch. Lovely sandwiches and freshly cooked chips served in a cute little basket. Friendly service and immaculate toilet facility. It may seem a little pricey but you get what you pay for! If on a budget then look elsewhere, otherwise indulge yourself and enjoy it!

Very rude service. After paying £27 for 2 crab sandwiches we asked for ketchup, told it was 20p a sachet(despite sitting in the cafe). My husband went to pay and told it was 40p a sachet. My husband expressed how we didn’t feel it was normal to pay for ketchup with a sit in meal. The owner shouted at him, was incredibly rude and then he had to pay £1 as she couldn’t charge less on the card. It was all incredibly unpleasant and unnecessary as she could have just bought a bottle £1

We had lunch here twice during our holiday…both times it was gorgeous. Lovey panini with salad and coleslaw and the best chips I have ever tasted! The view from the balcony is fantastic and we were lucky it was sunny on our second visit and we could sit there and watch the world go by…well, the paddle boarders and crabbers! Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Solva.

I have been before and was holidaying in the area again and remembered how good it was so decided to go back, definitely not disappointed. Had the crab sandwich with accompaniments and it was very fresh and very tasty. Very good value for money in my opinion with excellent service and a very clean environment. Beautiful spot to enjoy food too overlooking the water. If you are in the area i would highly recommend giving it a try.

Super location overlooking the estuary with outside seating. Ordered teas and sandwiches, Given the teas but told it would be a 15 minute wait for the food, so refused the teas until the food was ready. It would make sense to have drinks and food at the same time rather have no tea left or cold tea when the food was served. The young staff didnt quite grasp this. However all worked out fine when all came together with fresh nicely made sandwiches and drinks.

In the every increasingly difficult hospitality market I plead for you to take a little pride in what you serve up before it leaves the kitchen whilst were all fully aware.gluten free bread isn't the greatest if it's treated with a little love it can be served without any issues however our bank holiday bun would have been more fitting if it was used as a cannon on pirates of the Caribbean all in all a little disappointing.

After walking from St David's to Solva via the Costal path a trek of some 5 miles but with the terrain being challenging for my wife as the path follows the outline of the cliffs it seems longer than 5 miles by the time we had completed the route and the sight of the Cafe on The Quay was most welcome. The Cafe was clean and staff very welcoming with a good range of drinks and snacks We had 2 coffees and some cake - A Death by Chocolate which was an instant burst of energy, However the view from the upstairs area was great

Cafe offering take away only but still charging “eat in” prices. Paninis were advertised as served with crisps and salad garnish but only 3 crisps were included! Halloumi inside consisted of a few crumbs of unrecognisable cheese. Expensive for what it was but no other option given rest of eateries were serving roast dinners or only Welsh cakes. After a tiring but enjoyable walk on the coastal path in the heat we dropped in for ice cream which was just what we needed. This cafe seems nice inside and out and staff were pleasant..it is in a great setting looking out over the water. There is a good choice of flavours..I had limoncello (very refreshing) and other half had a mix of vanilla, choc, nuts, fudge etc which seemed to go down well. Probably would go for cones next time as you seemed to get better value for money that way but based on today's visit would happily return.

Had a couple of stops here whilst walking the coastal path. The coffee was probably the best we had all week in this area. We did have a couple of toasted sandwiches which were very good but the accompanying salad was a bit hit and miss. It was covered in something brown, probably balsamic stuff which we hate.... so didn't eat any of that, though my other half wouldn't have eaten it anyway because it was mainly cucumber which he hates! Anyway the younger waiter and waitress were very good but the older one didn't seem that interested in customers. We'd go again if we were in the area as the outside seating overlooks the harbour and is great for people watching.

Visited this beautiful Cafe on the Quay on 2nd October 2016. We had fantastic service with the most friendliest staff that I have ever met. The cafe was immaculately clean and the service was outstanding, the food presentation looked so good that I didn't want to eat it, crab sandwiches were the best I've ever tasted and the coffee was second to none. A varied menu which is realistically priced. A fab relaxing atmosphere overlooking a beautiful harbour. Having read the reviews before posting my own, I really don't know what Mattvinyl is talking about! The fact that the manager is leaving bears little weight to his horrifically rude comment. This gorgeous cafe is well deserved of my 5* rating.

We went here following the advice of trip advisor reviews and were quite excited. When we arrived we weren't sure if the place was open or closed as the outdoor furniture was stacked up in the doorway but indeed it was open. We sat at a table and the ladies said hello then went into a corner for a gossip, no menus we given, no orders taken, we we're unsure as to what to do. We ordered from the counter and waited, and waited and waited. When the food came we were so disappointed, dry and tasteless with no care put into it at all, bizarrely it was topped off by a nasturtium flower. The place was messy and unloved, I later learned that the current manager is leaving and this definitely reflects in every aspect. Then came the bill, just shy of £30 for 4 dreadful sandwiches and 4 teas/coffees. All in all, I certainly wouldn't recommend this place except to look at the wonderful harbour.

There are blankets if you wish to sit outside in the cooler weather. I am sure it will be buzzing in the Summer. The view is great any time of year. We can't pass through Solva without a quick fix, thank you Claire

Congratulations to Solva Boat Owners Association, the new veranda is incredible, I didn't imagine the view could ever have been improved, you have achieved the impossible. High water is now even more of a visual experience than before, although low water is still great to see.Have been coming to Solva for decades, work and pleasure, supported Claire and The Cafe on the Quay since its launch, 8 yrs now?. Great to be back and enjoy Wales' best Bara Brith (Grandmothers recipe 11/10) wife gives similar score to carrot cake.Visit Cafe on the Quay, say hello, even when it's busy, and enjoy some fine food, crab sarnies and bacon rolls included. ;)

This cafe is situated on the actual Quay in Solva Harbour, so is best experienced in the summer months, but is great all the time when it is open. The lady who runs it is a highly qualified chef, and her cakes are legendary around here. All food is freshly made and always cheerful and smiling in the place. A must be visited place while in Solva. great welcome and always a great experience.

When we visit Solva we always go to the café on the quay for our tea and coffee, fantastic view, brilliant place to relax, great cakes and Claire and her staff are brilliant, but I shouldn't be telling you this because we may not get a seat on that wonderful veranda with the beautiful view !!!!!

This is the best view of the harbour in Solva. Sitting with a nice coffee taking in all the action in the harbour is priceless. Fishing boats in and out and canoers having a nice time. Very friendly service and lovely food. We have returned year after year to this lovely spot.

I used to go here on occasion while stationed at Brawdy. It was a great place to go after a session of surfing. I was saddened to hear that it recently suffered a fire.

Beautiful little pie shop, visited 1st October 2024. Young lady serving was very helpful, great service and beautifully packaged pies. Buy 5 get 1 free. Great prices 6 for £24. Premium products. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing food. Excellent service. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are friendly, chatty & helpful, and it’s clean. Definitely recommend the coronation chicken, cheese salad. Hubby had baked spud first time which he enjoyed & baguette 2nd time each he enjoyed. And the cakes WOW!! I will miss the carrot cake which I highly recommend & the custard slice is just as amazing. The cost is brilliant too. Thanks you Phillys Baguettes

I've never felt the need to write a review, as quite simply, if it's good we'll return if it's bad we won't! However, as we are regular visitors to St Davids to see family, this time, I've had to make an exception. We always like to visit St Davids Cathedral & stop at The Refectory for lunch.. What's gone wrong ? Not much choice as it's a very limited menu. Doesn't seem to be a manager or anyone in charge, it's more like lads on a night out. Bad language, dirty uniforms & very unorganised (putting it politely). We've always enjoyed visiting in the past but this experience makes us not want to come back again. After talking with family about our disappointing visit, we discovered there has been a change in management & staff. Standards have declined, the level of customer service, personal hygiene and food quality are extremely below standard. It's such a shame as previous visits have always been positive even during busy times.
