Boathouse cafe and shop in Pembrokeshire

Absolutely fab local cafe. We had breakfast bagel and an avocado/halloumi bloomer - AMAZINGLY TASTY and really nicely presented! Lovely setting, dog friendly and warm welcome - plus a fantastic menu and cake selection. Highly recommended!

We had a simple choice, egg bacon & sausage roll. Something so simple was very poorly presented. If I closed my eyes I would not know what I was eating. Virtually tasteless. I’m local and it’s my normal choice for late morning snack. In comparison some of the other local egg bacon & sausage rolls are full of flavour. Certainly will not be back here again for food. To top it off £6:50 for a tasteless bite when others around full of local produce are £5 - £5:50. Thanks but no thanks.

We ate here after paddle boarding. A really lovely lunch. The children’s food was really fresh and delicious and the chicken nuggets were really good. The adults meals were all really tasty and all completely finished. The salads with the sandwiches were delicious. My mother didn’t want chips with her meal so she was kindly offered extra salad. The service was efficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting. I would definitely have lunch here again, simple food done excellently.

Make your mind up what time you are opening till last week 7pm this week 5.30 on a summers evening had to go elsewhere and not in Dale.

Been going here for over 10 years and will never return. The prices have gone through the roof, actually tripled since it has been taken over. Shame the food quality hasn’t reflected the price change. Everything was cold. Pulled pork straight from the fridge! Such a Shame!

Ludicrously poor value. £6.50 for a sausage and egg roll: two very low quality sausages and one egg=£6.50. chicken nuggets and chips=£10. Make your own sandwiches, far better option.

Beach side cafe with plenty of outdoor seating. Food was better than expected from a café and service is great too. Happy to recommend for drinks, snacks or full-blown meal. Food and a drink comes to about £18 per person

Great Cafe, food and service great, outlook fabulous! Lovely vibe in Dale with the boats/wind-surfers/rowers/swimmers etc., all enjoying lovely safe Dale bay and this cafe is right there to refresh thirsty adventurers after their time on/in the water.

Popped in for coffee and cakes while walking. Found the coffee rather sharp tasting (milk seen better days possibly?!) and the cakes were not good. Bit disappointed for nearly £15!!! Cracking views

Great location, with views of the bay in Dale. Good food selection and we enjoyed the special (fish board) but we would have given 5 if the staff warns us that the Black pepper squid was off the menu but we did get double prawns which were just a good.

Wonderful breakfast great staff, highly recommend, I had the vegetarian breakfast which was amazing. 2 Eggs, veggie sausage, mushrooms, Hash browns, beans, Well worth the money.

We were actually heading for The Griffin but decided to have a look here first. Not expecting much to be honest - but there was enough on the menu to keep everyone happy so gave it a go. Service quick and friendly, food amazing and very well presented. Go here.

We stopped off in Dale during our holiday in Pembrokeshire and discovered The Boathouse. We enjoyed a fabulous fish platter & fish finger sandwiches for lunch overlooking the bay. It was a great experience! Very quirky and simple but great location and food!

We stopped in Dale whilst on holiday in the area and wanted to find somewhere for lunch. We liked the look of the menu at The Boathouse and it didn’t disappoint. The fish platter was fantastic & the fish finger sandwiches were delicious. The views over the harbour & friendly service made the whole experience very memorable. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Dale.

Very nice people, plenty of things to choose from, plenty of space indoors and out. The halloumi, pesto sandwich was superb, as was the lovely beer. A very successful visit, highly recommend

After our lengthy hike from Martin’s Haven to Dale, we were looking for somewhere to to have a bite to eat, we came across this delightful cafe in the middle of Dale with spectacular views looking out over the bay We both had main meals which were delicious and served in no time at all. The staff were pleasant and courteous. The establishment is also dog friendly which was an added bonus too accommodate our two dogs. We asked one of the waitresses about a taxi back to Martins Haven as the next bus was a 3 hour wait and we didn’t fancy another 6 mile hike back to the van. We were amazed when this young women offered to give us a lift back to our vehicle, we were so grateful! It turned out that she was the owner! We had a lovely meal and would highly recommend calling in this lovely little cafe!

A really nice cafe which has a good selection of cakes, drinks and meals at a reasonable price. Service was very efficient and there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

Stale-ish bread in a sandwich , greasy chips, and a “steak” burger which was reconstituted meat, probably lamb. Busy as you would expect on an August weekend, but unmerited

Took various attempts to eat here the kitchen shuts early when they appear to be open. The cafes, pubs and restaurants in this area seems to be closed for food at the same time - why can’t just one them stay open, just for snacks. Disappointing breakfast that tasted of cheap quality low end supermarket food which was poorly cooked. Coffee was good though. However there are really nice surroundings and friendly and helpful staff so I’ll give 3 stars.

Received a warm welcome on arrival. The waiting staff couldn't of been more helpful and accommodating. We received our tea very quickly and we couldn't believe our eyes when the food arrived, a few minutes later. The food looked beautiful and plentiful and tasted amazing....

It was nice and clean here but we couldn't get food here because the kitchen closed at 3oclock but we were glad because food here is very expensive my wife and I had a coffee each and a piece of cake each and it came to 14 pounds

Ate here after being faced with a poor attitude at the Griffin. What a difference in attitude here. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Nice view from the seating area. Food nicely presented. Portions generous. Prices keen. Great place for snacks or meals. Too late to order the blueberry pancakes but definitely on the list for our next visit.

Food was great - delicious pancakes, and lovely location. Coffee is from a barista machine but mine was disappointing (flavourless and didn't resemble a flat white from a technical point of view).

Before leaving Dale we treated ourselves to a breakfast at the Boathouse, and it was a lovely end to a couple of days away. They have a good number of tables outside and a great place to sit and relax. The food was well cooked and service was friendly and welcoming. We're planning to come back for lunch soon

good home style cooked food at very reasonably price , quick friendly service and wonderful views across the natural harbour of dale , also decent selection of hot and cold food , small shop inside to for your everyday essentials .

We always visit for lunch when in Dale, and have always had good food and good service. It would definitely be easier if they had a card machine but we just always ensure we have cash when visiting although understand that it would be frustrating if you dont know, as there are no cash points here.

I have been coming to Dale for 35 years and know this cafe well. It is run by a local family who I think produce good decently priced food. Yep the service can be a little rough around the edges at times but certainly in this COVID situation they have been taking the whole situation very seriously indeed with alot of screening and distance keeping. I really like this little Cafe and they dont charge an arm and a leg.

Worst greasy breakfast I’ve ever had !Grumpy grey haired lady so rude I was stood in shock how she was shouting at everyone to stand at least 10 metres apart?Waitress half her bum hanging out of her shorts. Breakfast was floating in grease only £5 so we left it was too scared to complain ! Shame as a lovely setting could be so good if they had staff that cared.

Lovely sea view cafe, stopped with family for some drinks on a warm day, but i must say! The waitress was rather undressed! The young lady with black & white hair i swear i could see her bum in them very short short shorts! At first i thought she was wearing nothing but her pinny... So lovely cafe beautiful sea view, but staff dress standards needs a improvement.

Stopped here for drinks yesterday afternoon. Covid19 signage was very unclear at the doorway. We stood in the wrong place and got barked at by two different staff members. We’re very conscious of social distancing - all that was needed was clear signage.Note also that they don’t take card payments.Asked if they had any non-milk options to go in tea - lady at counter asked what that was. Really?! Quite disappointing.

Dont ask them for pound coins as they get rather shirty about it. Realise they must get this a lot as pembroke council still only accepts pound coins but no reason to be quite so rude. Would it kill them to have a nig pile of pound coins o standby?

Lovely spot with captive audience as right opposite the slip in the stunning seaside village of Dale. I had a prawn sandwich, but my elderly mother wanted fish and chips. Sadly the fish was thin and frozen and the skinny chips were anaemic and unappetising. Staff lovely and the outdoor seating is wheelchair friendly. Personally, I think their menu is too extensive and they would benefit by cutting it back and offering home made dishes. I suppose we could’ve gone to one of the other places just up the road, which looked less ‘fast food’ than this place!

As a visiting yachtsman we went to this shop to get some food however the prices were too expensive we did buy some bacon 5 slices for £2.50, I'm guessing the shop is taking advantage of yachtsman that visit Dale

2019 and this establisment doesn't accept credit or debit cards, shame as I have eaten there many times before (must have had cash on me at those times). No cash point local either #darkages

Visited several times food reasonable and good value . One negative is one extremely rude member of staff think he’s in the wrong job!! Normally sells the ice creams you’ll know him when you see him I promise

Great location for a café, overlooking the sea by the main thoroughfare through the village. It's a short walking distance from the pay and display car park at very reasonable prices 2hrs for £1. The café is a friendly place with lush coffee and quite a selection of other goodies. We had the chocolate cake, very Moorish! There's plenty of seating inside and out with a small shop attached. I liked the second hand book section, all proceeds to the local defribulator fund.

Quiet sheltered place on the inside of Milford Haven. Large cafe shop acts as a traditional cafe. Superb bacon sandwich and pot of tea is exactly as it should be.Service is relaxed with lots of chat about local issue. They were happy to advise me on tide times, important to my safety on the next leg of the trip.
