Food was poor and service was worse, everything appeared to be a bother. Pity really as its a great location but could be much better

Take away coffee was ok but the rolls were terrie. Uncooked bacon and slice and the rolls were dry with hardly any butter in them. Wish I had read the reviews first..

All i will say after my visit today, is that if the older woman's (of the 3 women working there today) job role is to ensure she loses as many customers as possible, then she's great at her job. Argumentative, aggressive, appalling customer service. Shouting and making rude comments about me. All because i asked for my tea with curdled milk to be replaced. Absolutely disgusted.

Stopped at end coastal walk for a ice cream for my dog. The women behind young girls standing supervising and creating a bad atmosphere. I asked for cup tap water and poor girl said I need to charge you. I said that's against the law to decline tap water. In end supervisor said I could get little plastic cup! Has things got that bad that people are so unkind. I would r mi d but it was mobbed so on a warm day plenty people coming here! Won't be back!

Extremely disappointing. Stopped here for a quick bite and cuppa, but despite us all wanting different panini from the menu we all ended up having to have Ham & Cheese as others were “off the menu”, despite being a early Feb Saturday (early afternoon) and only a few (4) other customers. The panini were shoved in paper bags with napkins which then stuck entirely to the melted cheese spoiling the food and making the napkin totally useless. I was further annoyed when I asked for a bowl of water for the dog. The staff asked the manager and the response was a simple “no”. I was directed to the public water fountain across the street. At first I thought this was a joke! When I asked if I could have a cup or container I was told I’d have to buy one at 50p. Bearing in mind we had just spent £15+ on food & drink, I politely declined. Given this place is on the beach Esplanade where 100’s of dog walkers are it seems extremely petty and tight fisted not to put a plastic bowl or tub down for dogs and try to charge for a cup. Let’s face it, the bowl is free (it’s an ice-cream shop & cafe) and water is free. They have no idea what good customer service is nor how to encourage repeat business, both of which can cost nothing other than a wee bit of thought & consideration. I will NOT be going back again.

Horrible Service from cheeky older woman ordered a scone, custard slice and 2 drinks, scone was solid, I mean solid, could.not cut with a knife, so i asked for a refund of the purchase price £2.50. At that point heard her mumbling to staff, bloody customers, she offered me an alternative scone which I declined, she then got all the scone squeezed poked them all before advising she had a slightly softer one. I declined her offer to which she said This one is softer so why Not take it. I advised they were all from same batch, so no thank you, she then got very loud and almost demaned I make do with the slightly softer scone, I asked her again for a refund before she threw it at me.,..Then we notice the Custard slice was not yellow but had turned brown, yes brown at that point we left. What a terrible place to eat at. Lovely location, shame its run by someone who has customer service and only motivated by profits by selling items well past their sell by date. I wish I had read all the other complaints about this woman and her service. Would have gone no where near it....Terrible place run terrible manager.

Very disappointing! We have always stopped here for a takeaway lunch to have on the boat home to Belfast. The food was always amazing. However, today we got a tuna sandwich which was so wet it was a mess. We also had a ham and cheese wrap. The cheese had obviously been defrosted and in doing so it had melted....not pleasant in a wrap. Unfortunately, we won't be back

Drove to Dobbie's for lunch at 1pm today. The roll and sandwich counter was busy as usual, but the hot food counter was empty, I liked the look of the cauliflour cheese, a waited to be served, and waited, and waited. To my left people were being served, to my right ( coffee point) people we being served, i made a point of looking like I would like to be served, i noticed a staff member or possibly the cafe boss made a great job of ignoring me as she wandered backward and forth several times. Eventually I gave up, I shan't be going to Debbie's Ayr any more.

Had lunch here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Sits on a busy corner of the main street but once inside it opens into a bar area and good restaurant area and garden overlooking the river( and boatyard). Menu has a good selection of classic pub food. Took a little time for our meal to arrive but as is was freshly made this was not a problem. The boatyard burger was one of the best burgers I have had in years and my wife was delighted with the chicken pie with mash and fresh veg. The chef knows how to cook!! If you are in Girvan this place is worth a visit for the food and the view.
