Cafe la Passione in Islington

Three Course has changed food and concept without amending the website. Now it's a short menu of burgers and ribs instead of simple, fresh Scandinavian style. Cooking was atrocious even for the new simplified food. A veal chop cooked to leather. Soft shell burger squidgy and unpleasant. No sides or veg or salads. The "chef" simply can't cook. You have the feeling they are running this place by the seat of their pants - economically that is. David, the very nice and embarrassed manager, told us the owner had gone to work in another restaurant. Other customers have complained that it isn't what they expected. On the plus side, the interior decor is quirky and appealing and the wine list has some delicious, well-priced labels but, on the basis of our experience, it's unlikely to stay open much longer.

Este fue un buen hallazgo para el desayuno. La comida era buena, el servidor era amable y el entorno era muy agradable. No es una selección muy amplia de opciones, especialmente vegetariana, pero opté por huevos revueltos en tostadas y quedó sabroso.

Nos topamos con este restaurante por casualidad, justo en la calle de nuestro Airbnb, al final del día. El personal —especialmente el gerente— fue increíblemente amable y atento, algo que rara vez se encuentra. Nos lo pasamos de maravilla disfrutando de una bebida en su terraza, y terminamos llevándonos unos excelentes fish and chips, junto con pasteles caseros que se añadieron generosamente. Muy recomendable por la calidad de la comida y la genuina amabilidad del personal! Baptiste : )

Great atmosphere, great service and great food! Been a number of times now and have always enjoyed my visit!

A while ago I had an excellent coffee at one of Shoreditch hotels. The baristas never made an eye contact or said a word - it was like being served by perfectly sleek androids. At one point I picked up a copy of CAFFEINE magazine and read an interview with the manager, who said their goal is to serve the best coffee, not to be a social hub for making friends. It was and still is a major turn-off for going back. Goswell Road Coffee is a hub for socialising, enjoying music (unless it's too loud - talk to the staff to turn down the volume dial) and people watching. Or better yet, crowd-watching and enjoying to be watched back. All that, plus some SERIOUSLY GOOD COFFEE. The manager, a young lady named Kay - yes, Kay - will give you a hug if you need one. Interactions are encouraged! What else do you need in this world if not more connections, more socialising, more kindness, more touch? Good job, Kay, and the whole team.
