Not the best place to have something to eat, unhygienic for a start, there is a dog in food prep areas which if health & safety got involved they'd be told thst that isn't allowed, how can having a yappy dog running round a boat where food is being prepped ok...the fella smokes, totally off putting, it's probably not legit and run under the radar, cheapest ingredients used as well, id give it a minus 10.

Friendly owners, good value and good toasties. A nice stop on an interesting canal walk. Lots of signage about the historic Buxworth Basin. Quite a bit of parking, or you can park at Tescos or in Whaley and walk to Buxworth.

If you are walking through Bugsworth Basin, it is really worth trying the home made scones at this canal boat cafe. The board stated they were delicious and they most certainly are. They also offer other cakes and sandwiches as well as a range of coffees and teas. Run by a lovely couple.

We are often visitors to Bugsworth Basin because of its unique location and we always stop at Cafe Kirianna for delicious home made bacon butty or cheese toasties. The cakes and scones home made by Carli are a real treat! No reheated food here, all the meals are made to order. The couple has kept their prices low and you can pay by card. They brighten up the day, especially Pablo's banter! They are also a mine of information on the locality. Drop by. You'll become a regular.

We visited Cafe Kirianna whilst on a weekend break in High Peak. Run by a lovely couple from thier liveaboard narrowboat. The cheese toasties were really tasty, so we went back the next day for coffee and homemade cake, and a cream tea with homemade scone. Delicious! The setting in Bugworth Basin is perfect for a walk along the tow path, lovely afternoon out and we'll definitely be visiting again!

Great pub. Called in after a long walk. Sat in this cozy pub drinking a great pint of Timothy Taylor and eating a nice steak and ale pie

Tasty breakfast we came here twice after being disappointed with the offerings from the on-site café at the campsite we stayed on. well cooked food and good menu choices. Good value. only slight criticism was quite a long wait for our food but may have been down to fewer staff on one day. will return.

The iced coffee and brownie was amazing. The shop is small but has a great atmosphere and products. My friend had a sandwich and it was great!

• Well behaved dogs allowed. • Not advised for those who are not fit and able. • Small children/babies are advised to be in carriers (we understood why on the way down). Continue reading for detailed review: The route down is steep. The stairs are damp in parts and you really do need to hold the railings. Myself and my husband are fit and able, our toddler was amazing and managed the whole way down and most of the way up (stopping to catch breath). It is not advised if you have cardiac issues or breathing issues, as well as knee or hip/leg issues. You can take pictures when you stop at each point. Filming is NOT allowed at all. Our guide Tony was great. He was very knowledgeable and was great with our toddler too. He was very considerate and made regular stops so those who aren't as fit could catch their breath. The cavern is incredible. It is made of so many different elements and seeing the Blue John Stone within the cave is really something special. We had a great time and would recommend it! Reasonably priced as well given the safety risks.
