Cafe Gelato in South Lanarkshire

As per usual the staff were lovely and the Chicken and Rice soup my daughter had for the 1st time today was superb, my daughter compared it to Gran's soup, she's never done that before. High praise indeed. Always friendly and the food is delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Burnside.

RIP OFF CAFE asked for regular cappuccino which cost £2-45. Never have I had such a small cup. Could not be more than 3 inches across. No value for money at this cafe

As soon as I got to Cafe Gelato I could tell it would be a worthwhile journey. I was met at the door by a very happy positive server who offered a choice of tables. The experience is joyous from the start I had the breakfast with cappuccino. Quality of the food was fab and it was tasty and hearty. Service continued to be of the highest standard and the coffee was expertly made It is a really nice Glasgow Italian cafe, so few fine examples left but this is definitely one and the cherry on the top was how great and attentive the staff were. I will be back at every opportunity possible and highly recommend it

Usually go out and about for a coffee & breakfast after working the weekends. Like to try somewhere different all the time Popped in here …pleasantly suprised ! I got bacon and sausage rolls while my wife got French toast and bacon …all cooked to perfection and good quality …think the rolls tasted like Morton’s ! Will be back

Was in the area for work one morning and decided to grab a early lunch, and checking what was near by, one cafe grab my attention, but was closed on Mondays, and looking around to see what else there was I noticed Cafe Gelato along the street with a few people waiting outside. Nice little Italian Cafe that you get a warm welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Plenty of ice cream on offer and some seriously tempting cakes and stuff, but decided upon a coffee and a cheese salad roll. Waited outside for my order and the waitress brought it out to me. Really tasty and if in the area again I will most certainly be back again.

Shame to see some negative reviews here .My friend and i had a lovely experience today. I had a cheese nachos. My friend had Scotch pie beans and chips. We shared an iced fruit slice over tea and a latte and then had two scoop ice cream cups with assorted flavours. Everything was tickety boo. Great quality food and nice attentive, friendly service. A new girl who had recently started was particularly nice and gave good service. A clean well run establishment with good covid precautions. Well worth a return visit

Service and food both in variety and quality were great. In between hail showers (well, it is May!) we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. Soup was tasty, well stuffed delicious sandwiches and lovely coffee, all reasonably priced. Staff not only friendly but efficient.

Came here, seemed nice at first. I ordered a cappuccino and a roll with sausage. As I sat down inside i felt very hot so I asked if I could change my hot drink for a cold drink. I was told that I could I ate my roll and finished my drink and asked for the bill. £4.80 !! So I asked if a can of juice is nearly £3.00 and was told "are you crazy". You have been charged for a cappuccino aswell as your cold drink. I gave them £5.00 and they returned me £0.70. I couldnt be bothered to challenge them or make a scene so I just left it at that. I'm sure making ends meet in tjis type if business cannot be easy but treating your customers like that will definitely make it more difficult.

The French toast was soggy, I actually think it had been microwaved. Not impressed at all as it was quite pricey for what it was.

Love this cafe, food is great and so is service but seriously need to sort out their toilet. Does not look smell or feel nice. Toilet seat dirty and not fit for purpose. Water always cold. Hate going there and such a shame. Place is a goldmine and quite rightly but put some of the profits into improving the poor, dirty, cold toilet. It’s letting you down, big style!

Have visited many times and have never been disappointed. Staff are wonderful. Food is fantastic and good quality. Only drawback is that its cash only. Ice cream is amazing also.

Gelato is a lovely wee cafe. Staff are so nice. Food is delicious. Ice cream is amazing. Cash only can be a hassle if need to go to local supermarket for money. Floor could do with a good clean too.

I go here often, sometimes with my two kids, other times solo. Service is always really friendly and efficient. Cafe has a nice relaxed vibe and the food is really good. A great place to have in Burnside. Fab ice cream too.

Ate here every week when I worked in Burnside, now I am in Rutherglen I miss the tuna cheese panini’s and my loyal roll sausage and cheese, food is always first class and served with a smile, staff always lovely, if you haven’t tried it your missing out especially the ice cream thick shakes OMG amazing

Came into today with my partner for brunch, well impressed, extremely friendly staff, really nice quality of food and drinks, there’s also ice cream and sweets you can buy. I had the double potato scone and fried egg roll and a hot chocolate. Cooked to perfection, nice crispy roll. I’ll be back. 😁

Popped into this lovely cafe for an Ice cream and a coffee. It was delicious the staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband is in a wheelchair and they helped me to settle at a table. Much appreciated

Great wee cafe. Food good, service great and always a warm welcome. Only issue is thAt the toilet needs a serious clean. Floor and sink area need a good clean. Otherwise a great wee cafe.

Lovely wee neighbourhood cafe. Coffee lovely and food just what you need locally. But toilets could do with a proper clean.
