We came to this cafe on the recommendation of a friend who comes here regularly on the way to Aberystwyth. We had 2 vegetarian breakfasts which were hot and tasty and a very good portion. We got 3 vege sausages, hash browns, beans, cooked tomatoes, eggs, toast and mushrooms. I altered my brekkie, removing the mushrooms and asking for scrambled egg which they did without any problems. Each brekkie was just £5.50 which we felt was very good value. The server was friendly and the cafe had a nice atmosphere. It is a basic no frills cafe but delivered what we had been told which was very tasty and good value breakfast. We were happy and would definitely go back. Especially at that price!

Exceptional value for money. Two mains and drinks for pennies over £13.00. Delicious food, a huge mouthwatering cheese and tomato on toast came with fresh salad and crisps and a macaroni cheese which was accompanied by plenty of juicy salad and a generous portion of peas and chips. With help yourself sauces and condiments at no extra charge. The area was buzzing with customers enjoying a range of simple but beautifully cooked cafe fare. We sat near the door and watched a procession of customers leaving with satisfied smiles on their faces. Not since pre pandemic times have I left a restaurant/cafe and felt I had experienced great value and good service. We will be back on our next trip through this area.

We stopped during a cold bike ride for coffee. It was not great. A spacious place which was busy on a Saturday. Maybe it is better for fry ups and jacket potatoes which a lot of folk had.

I called in here as a last minute thing with a friend on the way back from Cardiff. The chippy was closed in llandrindod wells so my mate suggested here. I havnt been here for years. We had two coffees and a cheese slice- nothing to write home about and my mate had the better looking steak and kidney pie. It came to just short of 9 quid. I know this is not a lot to some. When I got home I looked at the bill and they over charged for the steak and kidney by 50 p. No big deal. The point is- I was looking around for some ketchup for the pies. I asked the women behind the counter where it was and she replied its 5 p.....I said I only had a quid. She got change she said. I just nodded no. I shant be going there again just for that point. Paying nearly 9 quid and their that tight to charge 5 p for a bit of sauce. Some manners and customer service training wouldn't go amiss also. Live and learn. Two customers not going back. Highly not recommended.

The Cafe is clean and tidy but could do with changing the napkins under table legs (to stop them rocking) more often as they have been mopped-around so many time they look like dishwater. The staff could be more welcoming and friendly. On placing an order for a drink they turn round to the machine, make the drink and place it in front of you, on on you canteen-tray, without any grunt of 'hello' or 'thank you'. I appreciate customer service in Wales in infamously poor but it is shame as there is nowhere else nearby to readily get refreshment. When quite the staff sit together at a table chatting, but don't budge or say anything when a customer walks in.... perhaps they should have a common-room/lounge out-of-sight? The food is standard canteen-style grub. Prepare to queue and reminisce about being in the school canteen with grumpy dinner ladies!

We visited this cafe in the month of August. The staff was very rude. They were even laughing on what we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend to any of my friends to visit this cafe...really disappointed.

Customer service training opportunity here, like most places in Wales they have no CS, if you don't like retail get a different job 😃

Good honest breakfast freshly cooked to order. We’ve been coming here for years for a cooked breakfast, mainly on our travels to Aberystwyth. Now we live just down the road and pop in regularly for breakfast as a treat. If you are looking for a little chef type breakfast, this is the place to come. The staff are always friendly and it’s a busy cafe, but food always arrives promptly and is good value. In my opinion it’s much nicer having a freshly cooked breakfast here than a hotel buffet style breakfast where the food has been hanging around for ages.

We visited today. Staff are really friendly. We had two full breakfast, big portions and not too much to pay. Gluten free is not a problem, the restaurant is very clean.

We were disappointed with our breakfast, as it was rather greasy and only lukewarm, we would normally have complained but were on a little bit of a tight schedule as we had to be in Aberystwyth for an appointment. Having said that the staff were very pleasant.

I used this as a half way stop when travelling into Wales and found it a perfectly good place to pause and refresh. The cafe is clean and modern, and reminds me a bit of a Little Chef. There is a good menu of food from classics like the full breakfast up to various burgers, sandwiches and all sorts of drinks. I just went for a bacon sandwich and mug of tea. It was a well filled sandwich and I had no complaints. There is also a petrol station adjoining the cafe, selling a variety of standard mini-mart items like newspapers, snacks and so on. It was the only cafe of it's sort for many miles when driving through this area, so I am pleased that I made the stop off.

Friendly place with hot, tasty, and satisfying food. Oh and veggie friendly. It ain't going to win cuisine awards but is perfect to take a stop, chill, and refuel, whilst out on a ride. They even have visor cleaning spray available. We stopped on a cold, wet day, and after our food, felt ready to hit the road with a will.

What a dark and dingy place this is! It's pitch dark in there! As I went in for a drink a man came out and asked me if I had a torch! On buying a pint I understood what he was on about, you don't need a torch you need a SEARCHLIGHT! IN MY 73 YEARS IVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH A DARK PLACE! Like most people my age I have fading eyesight, doesn't the Owner realise this or doesn't he/she care? On going to the toilet I banged my head on a low beam, good job I have a good head of hair or i'd have had a nasty bump on my head! I am considering contacting Powys Health and Safety re - the matter. A man with a sore head!

Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.

Not regarding the store but the Store Manager (if that's what you can call her) She's extremely prejudice towards people who are neurodivergent. This may seem bias but ask yourself why do staff keep leaving? Is it because they are expected to start early and finish late but not paid for it? Or is it that, they don't give out breaks so when you ask, she'd shocked and hurt by the message regarding it? Or maybe it's the constant persistence in calling neurodivergent people sloe and saying that because of any issues with health at all, they aren't fit for the job. Your attitude is disgusting, you are a despicable person and I feel sorry for the staff you step on who work under you. You don't have staff because of you. You are the problem. You kept my partner on for the festival and as soon as it's not busy, you get rid of him. I can understand if he isn't fit for the job, but to bully his neurodivergence and constantly belittling and calling him slow?

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again
