Tiny place, excellent food, great service, good value, what more could you want? I had Monkfish in Prosecco Batter, the batter was the lightest I'd ever had, delicious. I'm recently back from Sicily so couldn't resist the Linguine Alla Puttanesca which was perfect too, much better actually than a similar dish in Sicily.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The haggis pasta is amazing. Beautiful rich flavour and a good sized portion. Loved the complimentary bread and oil on arrival. Such a nice touch. Staff were lovely and friendly as well so I’ll definitely be back when I’m next in Edinburgh

We went to Domenicos during the Edinburgh festival and spent a lovely couple of hours taking our time over a long lunch. Arancini and burrata followed by linguine and the seafood stew special. Then tiramisu and cherry special dessert. All absolutely amazing. Authentic Italian cooking in a small intimate setting with a great vibe. Fantastic and attentive service. We couldn’t fault anything at all. We also visited last year for dinner and didn’t get round to reviewing - sorry we didn’t. We will be back.

This small Italian restaurant is bustling inside with the warm welcome matched by the excellent service and genuine Italian food. The meal was moderately priced, even with a couple of glasses of the house red, whilst the atmosphere was pleasant and bubbling all evening. We booked ahead and I would recommend doing so - as you will see from other reviews this great little restaurant is not a secret!

Great gem in Leith. Menu is small but perfectly formed, server was very knowledgeable about the food and could give great detail about the food. I was part of a table of 8 and nothing was a problem, food came out hot and was a joy to eat. Thank you for fitting us in at short notice and taking care of us like we where your own.

Have always been a fan of Domenico's but hadn't been for a while. Was really impressed - the place is looking good and the menu seems to have been slimmed down a bit. The dishes on the main menu were well chosen and the specials board was great - I had the fish stew off the board and it was really, really good. The staff, as ever, were efficient, funny and friendly and, overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.

Our second visit, and this time for a special birthday meal. It didn’t disappoint. The seafood here is really something special: beautifully prepared, top quality ingredients, and generous portions. A lovely Italian white wine, very reasonably priced. A really cheerful place, bags of character, tucked out of the way from the main drag. But best to book—it was packed even on a Tuesday evening.

We had our wedding meal here and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Karen was an absolute dream and made sure that everything went perfect for our big day. We worked with them to curate a menu and all our guests said the food was outstanding and the best they have had for a special event. We are local to Leith and this is truly a neighborhood gem with a cozy feel, outstanding staff and a truly wonderful chef. Bravo!!

This place was on my way to the royal mile from my hotel by Calton Hill. Looked nice and I love Italian food. I had the lasagna and it was very good. The service is great nice people and all this at a great price.

Domenicos catered our wedding reception and were absolutely amazing. The organisation was super helpful and smooth and the team that set up on the day were really professional. The display looked great and the food was DELICIOUS - big trays of pasta, salads, arancini and bruschetta. Everyone loved it! Would highly recommend.

Small restaurant just a block off "the Shore" in Leith. The service was excellent and the food even better. Homemade pasta, nice selection, good deserts. Prices quite reasonable. Just a real find and we can't recommend it highly enough.

Tucked away just around the corner from the Water of Leith, we were so happy to have discovered this authentic and charming little restaurant. A proper Italian, with super friendly service and excellent food. The monkfish starter is unmissable, but we found everything fresh, tasty and great value. There are not many tables for groups, so perhaps better to book ahead for anything more than a couple. Easily accessible from the tram if you're travelling from the city centre.

We have been here twice for lunch. It's a small, cosy, slightly shabby restaurant with pleasant staff and reasonable prices. Everything we've eaten here has been lovely. There are always people waiting near the door to get takeaway deli sandwiches which are clearly popular in the neighbourhood. As the previous reviewer said, What's not to like?

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was good but what we experienced would not recommend me to suggest visiting as their behaviour was scandalous. We had booked for the last sitting but arrived earlier about 35 minutes earlier. They said no problem so sat and enjoyed the meal until we had finished the mains when we were asked to leave as we had been there two hours which was not the case; we hadn’t been advised about the rule. So we had to leave as they point blank refused to serve desserts coffees or after dinner liqueur. I had said to my wife earlier they could have sold these tables twice over. Do not go there as behaviour like this should not be rewarded

A delightful restaurant with lovely people who really believe in the food they serve up. The avocado sauce with linguine and sea bass was a perfectly balanced dish. Who knew you could make a pasta sauce from avocado! Genius. Locally popular so you probably need to book.

My husband and I were there on Saturday night (having booked about a month ago on a recommendation from a colleague). The restaurant is small and very cosy. The staff were all so welcoming and chatty (but not in your face like some places!) I had the monkfish in prosecco batter with aoili as a starter which was very nice but the haggis pasta that I had as a main was AMAZING (even though I only managed half of it - although they were happy to give me the other half away "for breakfast"!!) Husband had an amazing starter of goats cheese wrapped in parma ham with honey and pine nuts (I was very jealous that I hadnt ordered this). He had coley with roast potatoes and the sauce underneath was sooooo nice. We did manage to share a chocolate orange cake with Cointreau. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food and service. Almost feel like I shouldn't be writing this review - as we won't be able to get a table in future!!!

In our visit to Edinburgh we happened to meet a local who is from Leith. She recommended we visit Leith and said they have many restaurants to eat at. We decided to Uber over and booked a reservation online to eat here since my daughter was wanting Italian food. They called us and apologized that they were already booked but could offer us a “small table”. We were expecting a very tight fit but the table was actually a normal size to accommodate us. I have been here on several occasions, both for a sit down evening meal and for a quick take away wrap at lunchtime, it is always a pleasure. The food is always delicious, portions are extremely generous (come hungry!) and the staff are all lovely and friendly. Plenty of vegan options too, and knowledgeable staff who can easily adapt menu items as required.

This place really does have something for everyone from sandwiches and wraps to full on Sunday lunches and everything in between. I’ve been going for over 20 years and it’s so good to see somewhere that has stood the test of time. The change of ownership a few years ago has really helped what was already a great little place. I recently went with a coeliac colleague and they adapted a dish specially for her which she said was tasty and that she felt very safe. They are also good at making the best of seasonal produce. An apple pie which I was told was made from fruit from the garden of the owners Mum was absolutely delicious. I pretty much scraped the plate clean! The wine list is also good reasonably priced. My husband always enjoys the house reds. Domenicos is one of those places you often forget about, but when you go back you wonder why you don’t visit more often. It always delivers and never disappoints. Go, and tell all your friends!

Intento comer aquí cada vez que visito Edimburgo. No es lujoso ni pretencioso, ni es probable que gane una estrella michelin en el corto plazo (gracias a Dios), PERO, todos los vecindarios deberían tener un restaurante como este. No cambien lo básico, amigos, y especialmente no adornen su puerta con ninguna de esas flores de plástico y follaje que parecen estar despegando por todas partes en Edimburgo. ¡No te elogiaré más porque quiero poder conseguir un asiento en la próxima visita!
