As I live round the corner I just walked in & ordered a bacon, sausage, egg & mushroom toasted sandwich/bloomer to take away. A few mins later when I returned home I will say it was "absolutely & incredibly cooked, sliced, layered & presented to perfection". A non branded local cafe serving great breakfasts using quality products. Overall compared to other cafes it wasn't a breakfast toasted sandwich that was just thrown together.

This was one of our favorite meals when visiting London. The owner was so kind, patient and helpful to us traveling Americans. The food was hot and tasted really good. Highly recommend!

We were looking for a local cafe rather than eating @ the hotel . This proved to a very good choice. The service was excellent and the food choice on menu was superb. . . Great food

This is my favourite breakfast place in Clapham and I have been coming here for 13 years. The breakfast options on the wall are wide-ranging but I have developed my own. When I arrive, I just select a seat and Izzy, who runs the place, just brings me what I always have. It is the best breakfast in Clapham. This is a lovely place with great photography on the walls and a very friendly host. Just ask him about chicken porridge in Turkey (not on the menu here) and he will be your friend forever. If you bring a child, they will be sure to be given a lollipop at the end. Don’t breakfast anywhere else.

Down to earth family run cafe with a good choice of breakfast & lunch. The montage of customer pictures on the wall is a nice touch showing the diversity of the customers as is the history behind the cafe.

Had a vegetarian cheese salad and coffee. Place was clean, service good and staff pleasant. Food was very good. Value for money was most satisfactory for London. Ordinary, down-to-earth cafe with no frills but with good food, service and staff.

I've been going to this restaurant for lunch everyday for the past 20 years and I have never been let down once. I've gotten to know the family that runs the cafe and have always felt welcomed to be in the environment. I'm sure that everyone who has come here will also feel the same way as they treat both regulars and newcomers with the same amount of care and respect, not to mention the food is great. The high street gives me the choice of multiple places to eat ranging from McDonald's to Five Guys, but I always find myself coming here for the food and the people. Whether your looking for breakfast lunch or even dinner you will always be happy to spend your money here.

First thing is that I struggle to find a good coffee. I have liked when Italians I have lived with have made coffee, but never when I make it. I go out and try expensive or cheap coffees in cafes and some taste like water and others taste very bad, while others are hit and miss. I need a coffee that’s decent every time. I work in a team of 4 and we often have for a day spare workers and drivers and they all say the same. They didn’t mess it up. Second you keep coming back and you notice the rapport between people there. It took me a while to realise the owner had took the time to learn sign language of his menu for members of the deaf club that go there. People felt they could speak to those on other tables. From the last years of my grandmother, I realised many people speak to older people as if they’re not individuals or even there. They don’t do that there. They have real conversations. I have seen them sit down with all kinds of people when the cafe is not busy. Third I would say that they always do my usual well and they always ask how do you want everything from tea to your mushrooms. New customers or old. Maybe just the basics to not confuse the new. So I adventure a little more comfortably out of my particular palate there. Lastly I wrote this review because I can see but by bit every area losing its affordable cafes. I don’t want it to turn into another Camden where you can’t find such places and the locals must go spare as they’re not making a journey there once a year. They have to live there. I realised walking in Brixton that apart from a van stand and a local pay what you like pop up cafe, there’s nothing there below £9 since the rents have gone and pushed out all sorts of traders. I would want a Denmark Hill where I can think of 4 or 5 places I could eat. After walking around Clapham with my baby boy looking for a place, it’s possible that Cafe’s Delight might be the last stand for an affordable breakfast and lunch

Obliged by a problem on the Northern Line to finds an alternative route into work, I chose to have a leisurely breakfast instead. In a fairly new part of town for me (Clapham) I walked past the usual chain fare of Cafe Nero, Starbucks, McDs etc etc and here, like an oasis in the desert, was Cafe Delight. A proper old school cafe and a great find in that they are owner-managed (since 1996) with superb food. It’s clean, with a wide menu and quick service. Some other reviewers have mentioned slightly higher prices and to that I say ‘tosh’. There are no economies of scale in running an individual cafe and this one has personality by the bucketful, definitely a price worth paying. I wish them the best of success and I can’t wait for my next visit here.

If only all builders left reviews for this place on Tripadvisor. Breakfast number 4 was amazing. Everyone eating had a smile on their face, 11am and there’s pies, brunches & breakfasts flying out in this clean, friendly place. They’ve recently celebrated 21 years trading ! Wish them the best of luck for the next 21 years

I wouldnt say I was a connossieur but I do like my workmans cafe and try to encourage visitors to try them out. The food at delight is quite good but there are 2 big but's firstly it is exspensive in comparison to others. For virtually the same breakfast with all the trimmings and 2 eggs the cost is £10 versus my local one of £6.50, secondly but more importantly the owner cannot be described as friendly I am afraid and runs the joint very much the way he wants to run it and customers have to fit in with that almost apologetically. I listen to him and watch how he deals with people and yes he has his group of mates in there but other than that not great. Some might say that is part of the charm and guess thats fair enough but it would be nice if he was a bit friendlier. I am not a regular, going to my old one whenever I can but do enjoy my breakfast there and will tell people worth going to but with the provisos.

I came across this traditional, unpretentious South London ‘caf’ because of a photography exhibition the café was staging.  Local photographer Jim Glover had taken a series of photographs to mark the café’s 21st birthday, and had beautifully captured the life of the café and its regular customers to mark the café’s 21st birthday.  It received considerable media attention, so as a keen photographer I popped along to check out the exhibition, titled ‘Café Delight is 21’, on display on the café’s walls.   The exhibition was delightful.  But the welcoming staff, spotlessly clean surroundings, and a café packed with people enjoying breakfast, enticed me to stay for breakfast, to see what this café was really all about.  And I’m glad I did.  My double espresso was perfectly brewed and served correctly.  My simple breakfast, of fried eggs, sausages and plum tomatoes,  was tasty – hot, non-greasy, and plentiful.  OK, the tomatoes were come from a can, but I would not have expected otherwise with a total bill of £4.50.  Service was efficient and welcoming.   Some of the regulars featured in the photographs were in the café.  They were proud to be featured, and to show me their individual portraits in the exhibition.  But the loveliest thing about this place was the sense of community and belonging it conveyed.  It touched me with a genuine feeling of warmth that was far more important than money and profit.  I wish a few more businesses were like this.   It’s located at the less fashionable end of Clapham High Street in Clapham, a few minute’s walk from Clapham High Street Overground station and Clapham North Underground station.

Owner and wife very friendly. Nice atmosphere inside. Food excellent and great value for money. A big selection. They will also cook stuff not on the menu (mushrooms on toast for us). Just had their 21st birthday as a cafe and there is a small photo exhibition inside chronicling the comings and goings of the customers in the cafe. Does not try to be anything it isn't. Very clean inside as well. Some of the big chains could learn a thing a 2 from this cafe.

Stopped due to heavy traffic in the High Road. Parking a nightmare. Obviously popular with the locals and got very busy. Bacon butty was great and a good cup of tea at 50p. One of the group had a large and bland omelette. Other than that not a bad little café ....
