I mean it’s not too bad. The guy running it was ok, waitress kept staring so felt off putting. The food, though basic, was delicious. Always been confused why they don’t use plates. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and chill you’d love it, but at the same time perhaps some background music would be nice. The tables are ok, though there was a long hair left on mine but I like the flower decorations on them. The seats are uncomfortable though, and it’s quite expensive for what it is. Not much choice on the menu, but the food does come quite fast.

A rather bizarre experience. On arrival the greeting was warm and we (my wife and I) were shown to our seats. However the atmosphere and decor were both rather sterile, but we pressed on and ordered a couple of snacks and 2 teas. The menu was a little sparse and looked very simple (I was really hoping for a scone but alas this was not an option). The food arrived wrapped in grease proof paper - the only thing that made us think we hadn’t accidentally ordered a takeaway was the fact that our teas were brought in teapots to pour into mugs! The grease proof paper made the food a bit soggy (tea cakes and cinnamon toast) and we were genuinely bemused that the food was not brought on plates. The experience overall was not great, almost comical. We read some other reviews whilst in the cafe and our experience was very similar to some of the more recent reviews. A lick of paint, some artwork and some background music (plus food being delivered on plates) would have made a huge difference to our experience…

I have to agree with the majority of the recent reviews; we chose the wrong place. The tuna mayo sandwich was freshly made, on very fresh granary bread, but it’s not right to serve food in paper. The coffee was poor, not a flat white at all. Very expensive; £19 for coffee, tea and two sandwiches. No music, no atmosphere. But the young girls were friendly and it seems to be popular with local regulars.

Awful. No atmosphere. Basic overpriced menu. All food comes wrapped in grease proof paper. Why? If I wanted a takeaway I would have got one.uncomfortable outdoor chairs. Avoid.

Seemed expensive to me - £13 for 2 teas and 2 pieces of cake. One cake was good but the other was very underwhelming. No atmosphere to speak of and chairs very uncomfortable. Waitress was good at her job tho, so that's a positive.

Two cups of tea and two pieces of cake for £13! Seems expensive to me! Chairs very uncomfortable too, and weirdly, cake on sheets of baking paper instead of a plate!! My cake (dark choc and orange) was good but daughter had Victoria Sponge, which she said wasn't great. Waitress was lovely and did a good job.

Don't expect to be served cake wrapped in a piece of greaseproof paper in a cafe. Wheres the plates? If I'd wanted a takeaway, I'd have gone to Greggs

Friendly and excellent coffee and food.

No plates, no veggie options. Was asked why I thought not having a plate was a problem... Felt I was being interrogated. Very poor.

Nice quiet spot for a drink with really friendly staff. Cannot fault the service and the drinks we had were reasonably priced.

Chose the wrong cafe … three cakes on offer. Owner was helpful but not chatty. No atmosphere whatsover and felt quite uncomfortable. Distancing screens surrounded the serving area. Cakes were delicious but not impressed to receive them wrapped in paper. Very expensive … two coffees and two small pieces of cake £15.

No plates ! Our food came wrapped in greaseproof paper And plonked on the table in front of us.

Good was ok but £6+ for a sausage buty that doesn't even come on a plate is a bit much, customer service is none existent.

The worst of USSR style interior, but even worse, as no plates or cutlery. Uncomfortable iron chairs and miserable walls like a prison cell. You open your sandwich from a paper wrap right on a sticky table and see something burnt and unappetizing. The juice is just yellow liquid sugar. Get instead a glass of cola and ask for a bill: - a tenner for feeling like a full idiot just going there. Miserable place - just take your pound notes anywhere else, take my word - anything is better.

Friendly service good warm teacake and great coffee

Lovely little place, great coffee and sandwiches to die for. I had Cheese and Apple chutney on granary. Delicious

Had fantastic toasties and panni along with perfect coffee on way to airport which was only 5 minutes away. Excellent service and fully recommended 👍 thanks to the owners, loved it.

Unfortunately this was an unpleasant experience for refreshments. Sticky table (gloss paint has lost its surface and needs to be varnished or removed); our clothes and napkins stuck to it. Dirty floors, Covid screens still in place which is counterproductive with the sticky tables and dirty floors. Electric heater plugged in underneath the hand-wash basin in servery which is a definite safety hazard. Cakes served in paper wrap and waitress explained they don't have plates. Very unpleasant when the fork went through the paper onto the table. Hand drier broken and no paper towels, no sanitary bin or nappy bin. The café staff were friendly but the venue was poor. The coffee and cakes were good.

Lovely coffee, pleasant staff, and the cake I took to go - Millionaire's Toffee - unlike the piece I had elsewhere, it didn't make me feel unwell from the sheer quantity of sugar in it; it was just delicious.

Very friendly place. First visit since before Covid. Layout still very Covid safe with see through partitions formind cells. Comforting. Not sure if cycles can still be parked around back of cafe. Menu offers most things. Food served grease proof paper sheets, which might not be to everyone's liking. Ok for me. Glad I went back after 3+ years.

Popped in for a cup of tea & coffee after being shopping for a few hours. We’d had brunch somewhere else so weren’t looking to eat. We were greeted by the owners in a really friendly welcoming manner, and seated. Tea and coffee arrived promptly. Having a chat with the owners we decided to sample their cakes too. Home made orange cake and also coffee cake. Absolutely delicious! The coffee was double shot decaf and it was the best I’ve had. Often decaf can be a disappointment but definitely not here! Lovely surroundings and great hosts. We will definitely be back!

Lovely little cafe, great drinks and food. The use of the dividers between tables is nice especially for those still conscious about covid.

I had the cinnamon toast, and it wasn't very nice, I had an Earl Grey tea - which didn't taste like Earl Grey, and the tea cup, saucer and teaspoon were dirty. I find the cafe needs a "spruce up", it looks tired and tatty.

Waited a while for our drinks came with wrong order ..was soon sorted but came with no sugar did ask for some but waited ages in the end went and found some ..really didnt like the outdoor seating area felt like the seats and tables were meant for a nursery also on a public foot path.which I doubt should be blocking a foot path members of the public having to walk on the road..I doubt I would return here

Popped in for lunch with my sister and sat downstairs in a booth which is safe. Coffee came quick, pity about the sandwiches, one of which had the wrong filling. When the correct cheese pannini arrived the hot cheese made the sandwich too greasy to eat. The coffees were cold by this time. No sugar served, no plate with the hot sandwich, no knife to cut it either. Yes paper is covid safe, but come on, it's a cafe, use a plate. My sister uses pin payment, not impressed as lady said no contacless !! More secure is all we can say. Won't be going again as half the menu was scribbled out.

During our visit to Otley today we had the misfortune to choose Cafe Cafe as our lunch stop. A big mistake! As all seats downstairs were taken we climbed a most unsavoury staircase to the upper part and were temporarily forgotten about. On the staff's recalling our presence on the upper floor, we placed our order. My teacup and saucer were disgraceful, and when I asked for a different cup as the one I had was not clean I was told it came out of the dishwasher like that. Pul-leaze!! Either the dishwasher needs sacking or the staff should try using some detergent. I wiped around the cup and saucer myself and the cloth was stained! I was presented with two small teapots - one with a teabag half full - or alternatively half empty - of water and the other half full - or empty - of hot water. Together they made ONE cup of tea, and at a charge of over £2 for tea that was one expensive cup!! Our food (barely buttered granary toast and toasted teacake) was delivered wrapped in white paper (no plate). Altogether not a CAFE experience we would wish to repeat.

Visit Cafe Cafe for lunch, was welcomed by staff who helped us put our pram in a safe place and guided us to some seating upstairs, we sat by the window in a small booth with safety dividers between tables. The menu was a single side of A4 which was appreciated. I chose to have a ham, cheese and pepper panini which was exceptionally good with an affordable price tag, they had a selection of drinks and was overall an amazing place to pop in for lunch. I'd recommend this if you are visiting Otley.

A nice, small independent café, close to the town centre. Very appealing aesthetics, along with large plastic dividers between tables. The toilets are very nicely equipped with baby changing and everything that could be needed along with a high chair for babies. The staff were very kind and helped us to find a suitable table and they were very prompt with collecting our order. Unfortunately a wait of 15 - 20 minutes was rather large for three paninis and a cheese sandwich but when the food arrived it was delicious and still hot. Overall a very reasonably priced café definitely worth the visit

Sticky tables was not clean at all half the menu was scribbled out did not bring cutlery out when serving the food had to go down the stairs to ask to pay for the meal at the end as the staff only came upstairs every now and again will definitely not be returning again ☹️

Absolutely dreadful. Extremely limited menu with not exactly enticing choices with part of the menu scribbled our. Ordered a simple panini which took half an hour to come?! It wasn’t that busy. Finished drinks before the food arrived and had to ask for the bill at the time of the food arriving as there are signs to say you must stay seated for payment to be taken. We certainly weren’t willing to wait even more for the bill to come! Dirty surroundings. Will never return.

Visted today . The cafe is very Covid Safe, they have pulled out all the stops to make it safe from disposable cutlery, plates ect and fantastic table sectioning . The food was great as usual, brilliant Gulten Free options . We always enjoy our visits to Cafe Cafe, James and his staff are lovely and have worked / ing so hard to keep everyone safe and keeping up to their amazing service and standard's

Lovely little cafe. The owners are very aware if their COVID responsibilities and the ground floor is partitioned off to make it secure. We had coffee and cake which were both delicious. Definitely give it a go.

Pedí un sándwich de tocino y tomate, en el granero.Llegó con un cuchillo de plástico. El sándwich no estaba cortado por la mitad, así que lo intenté. . . . y no pudo cortarlo, con un cuchillo de plástico, eso no estaba a la altura del trabajo. Me di por vencido. ¡Qué difícil habría sido para el cocinero cortar el sándwich por la mitad!Los tomates del sándwich eran rodajas gruesas de tomates frescos muy poco cocidos. . . . . . . . Duro y poco apetecible. No me comí el sándwich. . . . . y se fue a otra parte.El café estuvo bien. . . . . . la comida horrible.No recomendaría este café y no volveré.

Es bueno ver que este café vuelve a abrir después de seis meses. Todo está perfectamente configurado para post - café COVID, etc. - mesas y sillas separadas por altas mamparas de metacrilato, desinfectante de manos en la entrada, datos de contacto tomados - y la comida y el servicio son tan fabulosos como siempre. Great at covid planning with screens for each table. As I was on my own I was directed to a little table by the bar and away from the window, it felt quite cut off and not relaxing so I didnt stay If I was with friends and at a larger table I'd have been more comfortable. It did feel cold however and on a rainy day, I'd have apprexiated a warmer cafe. Sadly the decaf cappucino, though tasty, was overpriced. It was £3 and smaller than your average 12oz, hence 3 stars. The coffee quality looked great and I would consider going again in the future when served in porcelaine cups rather than paper (I appreciate this is a covid thing but when sitting in I do prefere the porcelain).

Desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta, nos recibieron con la más cordial bienvenida. . pidió que nos sintiéramos como en casa y tratamos con el servicio más sorprendente El personal era absolutamente encantador y la comida era de primera categoría. Definitivamente vamos a la cima de nuestra lista de lugares para comer en Otley. Viajamos desde Bradford y sin duda volveremos a llamar. . . ¡incluso si es solo para el glaseado balsámico de la ensalada! !

Visité aquí el domingo 26 de enero. ¡Está abierto todos los últimos domingos del mes contrario a lo que dice en Google que está cerrado todos los domingos! La cafetería y la comida muy amable fue excelente. Uno de los mejores desayunos ingleses que he tenido. . y he tenido algunos en mi tiempo! Encantador tocino grueso sin grasa y salchichas. Muy recomendable.

Lovely cafe in Newmarket STreet, Otley. Friendly welcome, delicious food, and a convivial atmosphere but also peace and quiet if you just want to sit there, partake of refreshments (as they say!) and relax. Food is delicious, made freshly on the premises.

I popped into Cafe cafe alone whilst waiting for my car at the garage and instantly felt welcome with a cheerful greeting from the counter staff/owner (unsure). The cafe was decorated in lovely calming pastel colours and with rustic painted furniture, really quaint and super clean. I had a wonderful latte and cinnamon toast and recieved two generous sized pieces. I really enjoyed my visit, the coffee and toast were tasty and high quality and plenty of regulars popped in during my visit too which speaks for itself. A great independent cafe.

Aunque uno de nuestro grupo recibió inicialmente el pedido equivocado, esto se solucionó rápidamente con un almuerzo de reemplazo entregado en unos pocos minutos. Una pequeña cafetería encantadora con un personal muy agradable y buena comida.

Picked on this cafe on a whim, but very glad we did. Food was well presented and generous helpings. There was a slight issue with the small table with for of us having a meal, but it was easily sorted. Everyone very friendly.

Mi esposa me trajo aquí para almorzar después de que hubiéramos salido caminando cerca de Otley (ella había almorzado aquí antes y me había comentado a gritos, así que tuve que probarlo). Nos saludaron agradablemente en la entrada y sentados junto a la ventana de abajo. Mi almuerzo fue excepcionalmente bueno, bien presentado con una guarnición de ensalada muy fresca. Mi esposa tenía una envoltura de pollo y morcilla "especial" que solo tenía que probar. Delicioso y el mejor pudín negro que he tenido. La taza de té era encantadora y caliente. El servicio fue eficiente y amable, lo que hace una gran diferencia. Nos llevamos a casa dos tortas de caramelo que acaban de ser devoradas, igualmente deliciosas. Esta cafetería realmente es excepcionalmente buena, el nivel de comida y servicio es de alta calidad y lo recomendaría sumamente.

Just had a chicken and bacon wrap with scrambled egg on the side. It was fabulous, the flavours were amazing. It set me up brilliantly for the day. I can't recommend this cafe highly enough

Regularmente voy a almorzar en Cafe Cafe con mi mamá y nos encanta. La comida está muy bien presentada y sabe muy bien, y el menú ofrece una variedad mucho más amplia de opciones que en otros lugares que hemos probado en la zona. Siempre hemos recibido un servicio rápido y el servicio en sí es impecable; siempre nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. ¡Gracias por cuidarnos tan bien!

Lugar bastante agradable. Llamado para café y pastel. Dos o tres pasteles disponibles - Supongo que principalmente hacen sándwiches y cosas saladas. Tenía un bollo liso. Una cucharadita pequeña de mermelada de calidad básica fue de 95 p, ciertamente la más cara que he encontrado en todo Yorkshire. Scone llano realmente necesitaba un poco de mermelada ya que no era demasiado sabroso. Sin duda venden otras cosas que son mejores y tienen mejor valor.

Perfect meal and perfect staff. Called in randomly in Otley to a wedding shop, needed a quick meal. Perfect.

Came here for some breakfast with friends. The food was decent, but not overwhelming. The staff were friendly, but nothing notable. The decor was very cafe-like, overall this place is extremely average. Probably would go back if necessary, but there are definitely better places in Otley to get some cinnamon toast.

Fantastic find. Good menu. Had the Ploughman's with a fabulous locally made pork pie, delicious high quality cheddar and a superb salad that included leaves, celery, tomato, pepper and a range of fresh fruit. The dish was beautifully presented and looked very appetizing - it tasted as good as it looked. Will definitely visit again.

This is a nice friendly cafe. When we arrived there was only one table occupied with people drinking coffee. We ordered breakfast for the three of us. Bacon sandwiches and egg on toast. The breakfast was fine and the service friendly but the speed was glacial, really very very slow. Breakfast took an hour.

Dropped in by chance to have some light refreshment . Very impressed with the friendly reception , the excellent coffee , my toasted teacake and the pristine , modern loo ! If I had wanted anything more substantial I would have found plenty of choice , all of which looked simple but wholesome . Seems to be a popular place to judge by the number of customers in this fairly small space . Lots of magazines , newspapers available . Definitely the place to go in Otley .

Always have coffee in this Cafe (so good they named it twice) when shopping in Otley. Service is always friendly, but, above all, coffee is of a very high standard, always nice & hot & consistently so. Toasted teacakes also very good.

A group of us arrive late in the day on a Sunday just before they were due to close however we were welcomed in and given great service. We were not rushed and the food was superb. I would definitely return when I am next back in the area.

I rarely write reviews but just had to for this. The staff at Cafe Cafe were so helpful I was blown away! I recently started a new job in Otley and met my grandparents for lunch, they don’t have much money and ordered a panini and pot of tea to share. The delicious panini arrived on separate plates with an impressive fresh salad on each, and my soup was amazing! I just couldn’t be more grateful for the service we received and the quality of food was unbeatable. Thank you, we will certainly be back :)

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Pork pie and mushy peas for me and Italian meatballs for her indoors. Both came with nice fresh salad. Hot chocolate and coffee also good. Friendly staff.

Just tried the Italian meatballs with a pisatta and bazil sauce and it was fantastic. The flavour and smell was amazing and very filling. I can't praise this highly enough, well worth trying.

Good food but not much atmosphere

This is a little gem of a place. We went in search of a Cafe selling quality food and found it in Cafe Cafe. Very pleasant, friendly staff served the best breakfast I have ever had

Visited a little while ago with my family. We had been walking around otley trying to find somewere to eat. We could not decide between cranberrys cafe cafe or yellow pizza shop over the road wich was closed as they are moving. We were quite impressed because outside they put signs saying they had best food in otley and 'awards' for their specialitys. Our food arrived and it was the most ordinary plate of food i have ever eaten. Nothing special. Bit poor and extremly over priced. Reding previous reviews about the food coming from supermarkets is very belivable for what i had. Service wasnt that nice. Very basic cafe nothing out of the ordinary about it. Dissapointed do not raccomend wont be coming back
