Used to be much nicer. New management stand around outside smoking, everyone outside smoking at tables Horrible now and I never go there anymore. Used to be a great place for a fry up etc. Friends say the same thing. Sad

Ali and Caesar's cafe are a Wanstead institution. It is a proper "local cafe" with a wide ranging menu. In addition to the breakfast staples - with a dozen choices - there is a great selection of crowd pleasers, including the ubiquitous burger, their version of the Eimy Special Grill and a glorious scampi and chips. Traditional lunches are well catered for with an exclenent selction of "meat and two veg" dinners, though the ever generous Ali usually serves three veg - there will be no scurvy in Wanstead on Ali's watch. Add in a good selection of baguettes and sandwiches, alomng woth salads for the health conscious, and you would be hard pressed to find a better variety. They also have a new addition to the staff team, Ali's son Danny. I can't recall when I was served by such a young, polite and pleasant young man. He asked us to write a review, so just for you Danny, here it is!

Cambio agradable del hotel. Desayuno inglés a un precio razonable y abundante. Huevos revueltos en vez de huevos fritos. Muy bonito. Recomendaría una visita si en la zona.

I stay in Belsize Park from time to time and recently discovered Cafe Ceasar. I had breakfast there three times during my two-week stay. The menu is varied and contains at least a dozen breakfast combinations. The portions are generous and the coffee is very good. All for under seven pounds. And the service is prompt and efficient. Better value than Dominique's, located on South End Road adjacent to the Hampstead Heath rail station, which is another fine breakfast spot in the area. I recommend Cafe Caesar highly for breakfast.

Tasty english breakfast for a fair price - my 'Big Starter' with 2 eggs, sausages, fries etc. really helped me start into the day, and the coffee is good! Lots of locals.

We love traditional British cafes and Caesar is up there with the best. Visiting the nearby theatre and arriving by tube, this Cafe is close by. Friendly and welcoming staff and an excellent wide menu, much of which is advertised in the front window. We were there at a busy lunchtime, clearly including a number of regular customers and service was speedy and accurate. Well prepared food at fair prices and we will undoubtably visit again on our next visit to the area.

As soon as you walk in, there is this relax vibe that embraces your appetite, maybe is the chef's work area next to the door. I love its English Breakfast, not too fancy, not too simple, just the right portions and hot (not preserved like in other places) imagine...it only cost £5 and includes americano coffee or tea. Service is personal and they want to make sure you eat as soon as possible. The place is in Swiss Cottage not far from other stations like Bond, Baker or even Green Park. They have a full menu and open until 600pm It is a small Cafe, with a delicious menu worth the tube trip.

Myself and 5 family members had breakfast here as we were staying around the corner at Best western Swiss Cottage. Not much to look at , could do with a good clean in the bathroom area,But you can see them cook your meal and it's great value for money ( half the price of the hotel ) we started our day with full stomachs and we were impressed by the food , nothing posh , but hey ! A great breakfast ! Definitely would go back next time.

SO happy I found this place. It was my favorite breakfast in London. The full English breakfast was around 5 pounds, and was incredible, fresh, and filling. I was staying at the Palmer's Lodge Swiss Cottage just a 3 minute walk away. They had Wi-Fi if you asked, and staff was very friendly. If you're in the area and looking for a great, fresh breakfast on a budget, this is 100% your place.

We initially decided to come here for breakfast because it was so close to the place we were staying, but we ended up coming here every morning (sometimes early afternoon, oops). The food is amazing- always flavorful, hot, and quick to get to our table. The staff was also amazing, always smiling and happy to see us, and even waving at us as we just passed by late at night! The value was great, having the option to build your own plate at 1 pound per item, as well as many other absolutely delicious menu items. (The chai latte is to die for).

We needed a place to have quick breakfast before a day full of walking, so we went to Cafe Caesar because it was close to th hostel we stayed in (Palmers Lodge is 3 minutes away). To be honest, I didn't expect much: It was simply nice to find a place so close to the hostel, that works at 9 am and is not too crowded. We spent 5 minutes studying menu (they have rather wide selection of breakfast meals) and then decided on 'full english' because hey, it was my first morning in England and both my friend and I were hungry. Right after that we were given coffee (drinks are included in breakfast meals, by the way). Stirring hot liquid lazily, we discussed our plans for the day to the murmur of the morning news in the background. 5 minutes later (or was it 10? I can't really remember, but it was quick) the food was served. I still cannot comprehend how did I manage to eat all of that. Maybe because the taste was rich and wonderful? Yeah, that's probably the case. We payed 10 pounds for two and rolled out since walking was not an option. However, it was the turning point of our trip: If before having a breakfast at Caesar I considered going to the city centre and finding a place to eat, after that, well... We stayed in London for 7 nights and thus had breakfast tthere 7 times in a row. Go for 'egg scramble' if you want to try something new; if you're hungry but dislike the concept of full english, choose 'omlet mania' (but beware, omlet is large and there're also fries as a side dish). Why did we love this so much, you might wonder. Well, it's a good value for money especially considering the size of dishes and its quality. It is easy to find a place to sit here (but make sure to avoid 9.30-10.30 because all seats are taken at that time). They start working early. Staff members are friendly and patient. But what got me really hooked up on this place is that Cafe Caesar is the place where on a 4 or so day in a row you can say, "I'll have the usual, please", and be understood. (While I never did do that, it was clear that the waiter remembered my usual, and it's... It so sweet.)tl;dr: If you stay nearby (at Palmers Lodge for example), go to Cafe Caesar. You won't regret it.

We took our grandchildren (ages 16 and 14) to London for 6 nights. Three nights out of 6 we went to Cafe Caesar for dinner. The food was reasonable, abundant and very, very good. The owners and staff were patient with us as we studied the menu and didn't exactly know what some of the entrees were. We all enjoyed our experience at Cafe Caesar very much and would highly recommend this cute little restaurant with high quality food.

We stopped here by chance on a recent trip to London. We had a quick look at the menu and decided to have some lunch. We had no expectations. We were greeted by a very friendly man who showed us to a table and handed us a menu. There was a lot of choice. We opted for the goulash and a mushroom omelette. Both were excellent. The cook asked if we had enjoyed our meal which was a nice touch. We would definitely visit here again for the friendly atmosphere and excellent, tasty food. The prices were very reasonable especially when considering the quality of the food.

Great Double Double and Liqour very nice and tasty would return for another meal. There seems to be some confusion on social media about this place also being a Cafe. I can Confirm this is a Pie and Mash Shop only no other food is served here so presume people must be confusing this place with somewhere else.

It was an absolutely amazing experience, and I have honestly would have given 7 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the end. We were looked after a lovely gentleman called Adrian and he was really nice and professional, he followed us through the whole meal and made sure our experience was great. He did succeed and we also had a couple of more waitress touching our table and there were all absolutely lovely. Since the start we were really exited and the thing of guessing the ingredients in the dish was so much fun… Was also my girlfriend birthday and the champagne on house on the arrival was a really lovely touch. Everything went great, it was a special occasion for other personal reason but I’m not going too deep into it, just was wishing that the evening wound have ended a bit better. We finished the 5 courses of an Amalfi experience meal, and I cannot thank Adrian (the waiter) enough to make this evening so lovely. I come from the south of Italy and I was hoping to end the meal with an espresso. I have been also working on restaurants for the last 20 years across 3 different countries, I indeed work as a manager in an Italian restaurant and I know for sure that until the last drink order of called the coffee machine should not been closed, specially in an Italian restaurant (or experience). But I also know how hard and heavy is working long hours in hospitality is, but what bothers me is not the thing that I could have a coffee after my meal, but the way how the female bartender reacted to my request. I asked Adrian for an espresso and when he asked the bartender if he could have a coffee she responded to him quite loud “of course is closed”. Adrian came to the table and really politely told us that we could not have a coffee so we had a couple of limoncello shot instead. Again what bothers me is only the way how this bartered had reacted to my request, otherwise this would have been a 10 out of 10 dinner. I still recommend to go there as food was lovely and service was great (waitress stuff, bit much from the bar) but if you are a coffee lover after dinner make sure you go there earlier than 9pm. Adrian, thank you for your service, you’re great!!!!

Called in for brunch as it was on the way to St Pancras and the website looked good. The food was nice BUT extremely expensive for what it was. £17 for cold avocado, poached eggs, chickpeas and rocket on toast and sat next to the toilet door. We paid a third less for similar at the Ivy, Tower Bridge where the surroundings were far superior. Plus no green tea!! My husband had 2 eggs and some ham and a very small latte and it was just shy of £40!! My cup was half empty and I wouldn’t return.
