I used to work on nuclear submarines when Chatham Dockyard was a naval base in the 70s/80s and I was staggered by the scale of the St Marys Island development. Anyway, Cafe Bueno served up the nicest coffee I've had in a very long time, I was going to have a cortado but couldn't pass up something called a Dirty Chai! Absolutely delicious, served by a charming barista, and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

If you are walking on St Mary's island on a cold, wet day stop by this remarkable cafe for a warm cup of tea and a sandwich.

Nice place to sit in and lovely atmosphere. The cafe is run by a hard working,well knowledgeable, and friendly lady. The coffee was fresh roasted and tasty. The chocolate brownie was one of the best we tried.

Stopped off the other day, nice outdoor setting that is peaceful. Had a couple of large coffees and a milkshake. Unfortunately the coffee had little flavour and the milkshake slightly warm. A pity as it could be a nice stop after the school run.

Fab local coffee and more alongside the basin by St Mary’s Island - recently moved from a ‘pop-up’ to premises attached to the water-sports centre. Staff always ready with a chat and a smile and I can thoroughly recommend their granary toast with jam alongside a latte….. ;-) Give it a go - you won’t be disappointed!
