The best Indian restaurant around. My family have been coming here for over 18 years and have enjoyed every visit. Delicious food, good portions and brilliant service. Cobra beer on tap here is always on point too.

Easily one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to. If we were local, we'd be there all the time.

We ordered from here this evening as a change and so glad we have finally found an Indian takeaway near us that we love! The food was gorgeous, ready to collect in half an hour, piping hot. I’m a fussy eater and find a fault in EVERYTHING! But couldn’t find a single complaint from here. Glad they have a points option on the app and the ability to “order again” saving us time as we are very much a ‘that’s our order we’re sticking to it’ family. Definitely going to be returning.

Lovely little place, can be hard to park. Very clean, lovely atmosphere. Food is very high quality and comes out freshly cooked and hot!. Staff can't do enough and are polite friendly. We'll worth a visit whether as a group, family or couple.

I had a take out a month an ago and ordered £94.00 of food. The delivery was over an hour and it was cold, thought I’d give it another chance as it had been good previously. We waited an hour I called twice to be told the driver had left and I said I hope the food isn’t cold like last time. He assured the food would be hot. AGAIN the food was cold, the rice over baked. I will not be using the Shad again… disappointed as again I spent over £75.

Great curry house with some excellent favourite dishes and lots of house specials. Good service, good prices, is small inside so can get quite busy at times. Really good takeaway too, probably the best in the area as travels well.

Please Read to the end as I have edited Food delicious as always but waited 2 hours for it to be delivered. Then they put 2 pots of mint dip in instead of Mango Chutney.. normally really good but disappointed this time Have since ordered a few times from New Shad and WOW so glad i stuck with it. Just had the most delicious Indian Food I have ever tasted. Ordered online and was ready when i turned up to collect

Best Indian I’ve ever been to… will always be my favourite. I go to this Indian regularly and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and are always happy to accommodate any requests. Would definitely recommend.

Visiting family in the area, was taken to the New Shad. Quick service, good food, lots of flavours and we had a variety of meals all were good. Gluten free menu clearly shown.

Very satisfied, the chicken ceylon was lovely, the meat very succulent and tender. I've had madras here too which is also very nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, we only come here now..😋😊

Went last night for my partner's birthday, we had a great time. The food was excellent, good portion sizes, got to try some new dishes. The gentleman who served us was engaging and good to chat with. We will be back.

Went this evening with my partner and daughter and I have to say the food and service was second to none We both had a madras and it was the best I’ve had really enjoyed It. My daughter wanted chicken nuggets they didn’t have any but the owner was prepared to go to the shop and get some which was nice of him to do so but she had chicken prokkra and chips and loved them well done new shard we will be back. Winner winner chicken madras dinner. 👌🏻

Had a lovely meal for a birthday, food was excellent and the service was nice and quick, server was attentive and very polite and friendly, made a special evening even better. Would suggest this as a 1st class Indian restaurant. 10 out of 10 definitely.

Really disappointing takeaway, late July '22. My lamb Madras was only just edible, my friend couldn't eat his chicken. We won't be back, ever. On the other hand, we do recommend Taze in Chatham High Street.

Fancied an Indian and thought why not try the new shad, so we opted for take away but we went and ordered at the restaurant and waited for our food, we entered the restaurant and were greeted by a very polite gentleman and a lovely young woman who was behind the bar we was asked r we dining in or taking away?? so we Said take away and then we were offered a menu but we already new what we wanted etc, our food was ordered and we were invited to sit at one of the tables which were vacant to wait for our food to be ready. While we were waiting I was looking at how Beautiful the inside of the restaurant was, the pictures on the walls were beautiful, the lighting was lovely as it set the atmosphere with what i would describe as mood lighting, the table layout and the positioning of the tables them selves just worked & went with the layout of the restaurant, and the air conditioning made the perfect atmosphere! Even though we wasn't eating in, while we was waiting other customers food was being wheeled out on a trolley and it all looked delicious and the waiters were just so helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that your fully satisfied!!. The food my gosh was delicious not one bad word to say, now when it comes to my order I always have a chicken korma wit pilau rice and peshwari naan but for some reason other restaurants put bayleaves & cumin seeds in the rice and the curry itself and I hate that but the shad doesn't have all that, The korma was beautiful and coconutty the sauce was perfect and there was enough of it and the chicken was cooked to perfection with big chunks of meat in the dish itself, The pilau rice was beautiful aswell no complaints with that , the popadoms and pershwari naan went down a treat.. I was going to include my family's food in this review but before I even sat down to eat mine they dived straight into there's ruining the photo opportunity 😅 lol but they both agree with me.. the sauces were on point , the rice's and the popadoms & peshwari If anyone is looking for recommendations then u need to run to this place you won't be dissapointed! I 100% will be returning and the next time we will be dining in, ♡ Thankyou so much For the hospitality even though we wernt even there for 20mins. Also the food was amazing so thankyou very much ♡

This was our first time going to New Shad and it was absolutely brilliant. The food was absolutely delicious and we couldn’t stop complimenting how each dish had its own unique flavour. The portions are quite big so we ordered more than enough. The service was exquisite. The staff greeted us with a smile, and checked up on us refilling our drinks when the glasses were empty. Fantastic! I would 100% recommend and would definitely return.

Moved to the area October 2021. Couldn't find a top class Indian restaurant or takeaway to my liking. Went here on recommendation from someone. Wow wasn't disappointed, very friendly, great pint on draught and excellent food at a decent price.Restaurant modern clean decor. Can't recommend highly enough. Best in the area and surrounding areas. Will definitely be using all the time.

Tried New Shad for the first time tonight, it was gorgeous. Delivered quick, hot from kitchen to plate. Lovely flavours, no grease or oil (like some) and tasted delicious. A solid menu with lots of choice - cannot wait to try this again!

Nice place, great staff. Food was good at a reasonable price. The interior isn't the best but the good service and food makes up for it. Was very busy even for the early evening on a Tuesday night. The main negative is the parking, on a busy road it's hard to find. Will definitely be going back!

Spotless restaurant serving draught beer. My husband states it was like eating in a teenagers bedroom with constant changing lights. We were not warmly welcomed on a quiet Sunday night into a restaurant with 3 tables who were nearly finished. Whilst there only one other customer arrived. Although polite, there was an edge to the service. The food generally well seasoned & presented. Lamb very tough, channa masala bland & peshawari naan leathery & tasteless. We have very light appetites & politely cleared our plates. Never discussed eating somewhere else again on the way home as we were still "left wanting". Quite an unusual experience.

Good food but very tight and quite loud. Spicy is actually spicy which is both awesome and rare. Very busy atmosphere, service was unfortunately slow and a bit chaotic.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate our grandsons 18th bithday. The food was excellent with first class service and very friendly staff. They even gave my grandson a complimentary bottle of bully. Little Ali was so friendly and made everyone feel so welcome. Will definitely be back.

We would like to say a big thankyou to your amazing food, we ordered for the 1st time on Saturday for a collection we was told 20mins & it was promptly ready,"WOW the food was absolutely delicious my husband had Chicken Madras I had Chicken Tikka Ceylon pileau rice & Bombay potatoes, all dishes were spot on and aromatic flavours the chicken melted in your mouth & generous portions, the Restaurant looked very appealing & the staff were very polite we highly recommend & definitely will be ordering from you again in the near futre thankyou again

Great service, they like to have a laugh with you and keep you very relaxed. Had our time at 8:00 pm and they didn’t rush us as we finished at 10:35 they didn’t care about us being there for 35 mins after they were meant to shut. Overall great restaurant would definitely go back their. :)

Food out of this world and amazing staff. Delivery and pickup only at the moment but can't wait to be able to sit down and have a quality meal with the family.

Sauce is allways different every time we go ,this time bhuna was very tomatoee not good for ibs . ..shame cos chicken bhuna normaly nice loads chicken but cant seem to get the sauce right
