Fantastic micropub. Beer is very well kept. I loved the way the casks are set up in custom built temperature controlled cupboards. Great selection of local ales to choose from. Knowledgeable owner, very friendly and welcoming. The regulars were also equally welcoming and friendly. I had a great time drinking there. Definitely a place I'll come back to next time I'm staying in the area.

*This pub does NOT allow dogs.* As most pubs in the area do we didn't think to ask and walked in, ordered and settled downstairs. What could have been an easy "sorry we don't allow dogs, if you could head elsewhere after this pint it'd be much appreciated" turned into owner spotting the dog, glaring at us and angrily saying "we don't allow dogs, didn't you see the sign outside?" ("oh so sorry we didn't see the sign"), walking off, then moments later a customer coming down saying "the landlord told me to tell you to drink up and leave". I respect the pub's policy but there are better ways of handling this, no need to make decent, paying customers feel like criminals.

Beer straight from the barrel, not via the handpull so no head but a lovely pint, very pleasant landlady and customers, great atmosphere

Discovered this place recently when I sang carols with a choir. What a gem this place is! Well worth a visit. Friendly people, lovely land lord and best of all real Ale! Also does cider and wine. Also has local bands perform on occasion. I Will be returning!

Lovely little Micropub, nice interior, the landlord/ landlady are very friendly, and full of conversation. Great ales/ real cider selection and incredibly cheap for todays standards! Funky basement area with a darts board and tv for sports, wonderful atmosphere! It is the perfect place for a pint in Rochester!

Walked passed this place a few times but ventured in this time. What an absolute little gem of a place, friendly staff, great games room in the basement and good selection of drinks.

Love this place, it's a staple of my pub crawls in Rochester. Fantastic selection of ales and ciders at some really good prices. Staff are great and the basement is wonderful with games, darts and a keyboard. I hope this place stays open forever

If you're a fan of real ales this little pub is a place to go in Rochester/ Chatham. Good atmosphere, cosy sitting and reasonable prices.

The only micropub I’ve ever been to that does not allow dogs. Your loss if you want to turn away customers in this economic climate. We went to the 10:50 from Victoria instead. A real micropub serving quality ales and dog friendly. It also had an atmosphere, unlike 12 degrees which was like walking in to a morgue.

Very warm and inviting love the cellar with the dart board. Very fair prices and great selection.

Probably my favourite micropub in Medway. Always a good selection of ales, and I always find friendly locals to speak to. You'll know you're in a good place when you see the sign on the gents toilet door.

Great place for a real ale or two. Nice atmosphere and nifty decor. Kudos for the Humphrey Bogart movie picture on the wall too ! Bonus point for the hugely interesting and entertaining Richard we chatted to. We'll be sure to buy him a G & T next time round !

I was visiting from afar, and was glad to make the 10 minute stroll to this bar (roughly half way between Rochester and Chatham stations). Really friendly both sides of the bar, and a good selection of local beers and ciders.

Gem of a micropub with very friendly staff and a nice variety of beers, ales, stouts and cider on offer. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap the drinks were and will certainly return to try more of what they have to offer

A lovely quirky little place. A good selection of real ales available. The rustic decor creates a lovely cosy atmosphere, just like a good old pub from a bygone era. We had a great evening down in the cellar bar. Perfect for intimate acoustic music.

This should be a lovely micro pub, but sadly the oversized bar and poorly designed beer coolers make choosing an ale over complicated. Also the ale selection is not the best. Plus no dogs, means we will not be returning and it will only be a matter of time for the demise of this micro pub!!

Had a wonderful day at the Sweeps Festival yesterday. Tried many ales and ciders between us during the day, but none compared to the fabulously tasty rhubard cider. As always, staff friendly, great atmosphere. First class!

A very classily decorated micropub, right down to the toilets! It is quite a narrow place but feels comfortable most of the time. A great range of beer, cider and wine too. Should definitely be on the list of places to visit if you are on a real beer pub crawl between Chatham and Rochester.

One of my favourite Micropubs I've ever been to. Always excellent beer and cider. The staff are so friendly and It's such an enjoyable environment. The work the owners have put into the decor is amazing. Been 3 times now and haven't got a bad thing to say about it. Can't wait to go again.

Really nice place! Relaxed environment, everyone very nice - friendly and chatty but not pushy. Good selection of Kentish beers from light to dark, and well kept. Would definitely come back. The kind of place where you can come in on your own or with friends and it's all equally nice.

No dog's! Not much cider on the menu to choose from. (From what I could see from outside because i wasn't allowed in with my dog) however only one that seemed to be made from apples and not flavoured types! Not much of a welcome either just a no!
