Can't beat this place for value and proper good food. Third time visiting and been great every time .

Delicious food and really fast delivery. Everything was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend and will be ordering more.

This was literally the worst Indian order I have ever received. I bought their meal deal for 13.99 and upgraded certain options which was a tandoori mixed grill and and nargis kebab. I have never seen naan bread serviced in a plastic carrier bag and not in proper food bags/packets. The portion size was of a starter and quality/taste was no existent. I had to throw it away. I do not normally leave negative reviews as I do not want to hurt.

Nice fresh food, always busy with the deliveries, so must be popular with the locals. Friendly staff, always made to feel welcome. My favourite is their desi style meat curry and mix biryani.

I ordered a butter chicken curry from the place and to tell you this was not anything I expected is an understatement. I have eaten from every curry place you could think of in birmingham, and this was not anything like other curry I’ve had. It feels like chicken marinated in sugar. It was more sugary than any baklavas or Turkish delights I’ve had. Please be careful when ordering butter chicken from this place

Takeaway - Excellent tasty food. Best curry we’ve had in ages Garlic mixed kebab, chicken sagwala, medium hot. Chicken curry. Well recommended

Enjoyed the food here. Their food is more the British Indian Restaurant style but they executed it well. I particularly enjoyed the Desi Meat Curry. They allow you to bring in drinks from outside. This leads to having an enjoyable night and a good price.

For a little restaurant on an Island in Sheldon, Birmingham this place goes the extra mile. From entering the establishment we was welcomed by the most friendly owner/host I have ever encountered. We chose the £10.99 deal which consists of starter, main and side. It does have its certain limitations. This, can I say is not our first time. Since then we have ordered for delivery as well as eaten inside. The food is really good and the menu is extensive offering a very good range. I truly believe it’s about the service you receive that makes a restaurant and this place always exceeds my expectations. Even if you can’t make this place then I strongly recommend you order online for delivery. There are two sites offering at different prices but if you call the restaurant they will take your order and give you the deals there and then.

£3.10 for chips is a joke, was only a small portion. Prices for rice are also astronomical. Was automatically given and charged for large rice's without being asked. Rice chips and naan cost nearly as much as the mains. Food on the whole was enjoyable. Prices aren't

I usually order through the cafe balti app, unfortunately there is no provision to leave comments. I like my curry's spicy hot and usually ask for extra chillies. Today I thought I would have something different. My wife ordered 2 chicken Dupiaza for the both of us. They both had very little sauce, so was very dry and bland. Could only eat a small part of it. Usually the food is pretty good but this was very disappointing. Give another restaurant a try.

Ordered from here a number of times in the past. Food always arrives in reasonable time and never cold. Decent quality and great value - I now always order direct from the website rather than JustEat where you get an extra discount. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

I used to use cafe balti on a regular basis ….. not anymore after last night I’ve been suffering the worse food poisoning since 2 hours after eating . I had king prawn madras the prawns tasted sour so I did not eat them but clearly I was to late to save myself from illness.

Ordered masala fish. Was like jelly. Had the masala fish before was amazing. However this order absolutely terrible.

Went with 3 adults, 3 children, absolutely disgusted, never felt so unwelcome in a curry house, it’s like he didn’t even want us in there, we ordered our food he actually said “you’ve ordered too much food for you all” is he paying? So rude it’s unbelievable, safe to say I definitely would avoid this place, food was not good either, no flavour! AVOID eating in. Worse experience I’ve ever had.

Joke of a place accept ur order then phone to say they carnt deliver money bk in ur account in 2-3 days no u shouldn't take money unless u can fulfill the order stay well away guys

I decided to pop in here for some take away this evening and was pleasantly surprised! The meal deal £9.99 or starter, main and side dish (ie curry, naan or rice or chips, and a starter) was a bargain! Food was all cooked freshly and was hot when I got it home! The staff were lovely and talkative. Only rated 4/5 as when I went inside there were either staff or family members of staff lounging in the restaurant area watching telly lol. However food was 5/5 for value and taste.

Ordered through deliveroo. The delivery was really quick and I was happy about it. I have just tasted the biriyani and there was no salt what so ever. It's not like the salt was less but it was 0. I ordered it at around 11:30 so may be the staff were closing down and it was done in a hurry. As I was about to call the restaurant for this to let them know, I got a steel wire kind of a thing in my mouth. When I called them up, the person who spoke on the phone said it could be something from the cleaning metal scrub. And he said he could send another biriyani tomorrow. I said the biriyani was not at all edible as theres literally 0% salt in it. I asked if he could cancel the order. He said it isn't possible. When I said I'll report it to deliveroo and let them sort it out for me, his way of talking was changed and he indirectly said I don't care do what you want. It's not the right behavior. And he was never apologetic for what happened. And another one

Picked food from here last night service and staff and food is excellent quality.

Had chicken pathia from there got food poisoning. Had week off work was put on antibiotics came back as campylobacter

Absolute 0 representation of real South Asian cuisine. I had called back regarding their butter chicken which was dreadfully cooked and loaded with so much sugar that you couldn’t taste a thing but sweet slurp and overpowering ‘aroma’, the boy I spoke to apparently was proud to be selling such poor standard food but I couldn’t expect him to say any different however note to chef, please be true to yourself when feeding people. Would you eat that stuff you get others to eat? There’s no 0 on this so had to give it 1 star but even their chicken pakora was pre prepared chicken tikka dipped in batter and under cooked then sent out. NEVER ORDERING AGAIN!! I cannot get that terribly sweet vile taste out of my mouth I’m so disappointed!

I love this place. The staff are courteous and kind. The food is good and cooked to order. They wait for you to ok the nxt course when you are ready to eat it.

Thought I would try this place for the first time and it's the last. The chips iv never seen anything so burnt and dripping in fat same as the starter and very dry chicken . All of it tasted reheated! My concern now is food poisoning. Lime and pickle takeaway 100 percent

And we are quite far away with their own app or an uber voucher you can get a great Discount so a family meal is quite affordable. First time having a meal from Cafe Baltic and it was really good. We ordered online and was aware it would take about an hour, so prepared for that. Really happy with what arrived: great poppadoms and dips, mixed special platter and onion bhajis finished off with a king prawn balti and naan (loads of mint dip and salad and 2 free cans of Pepsi Max. Fabulous and will be ordering again!

Placed an order through FoodHub, get's a message a few minute later saying that the restaurant has cancelled the order as I'm too far away, well I suggest that you don't put you can deliver within my radius. Nice to see some hospitality business can be so choosy with midweek business during this Covid period!

Order placed at 18.03 on Cafe Balti App, received email confirmation that would be delivered by 18.47, after calling them twice it’s now 20.03 and still no delivery. Have used this restaurant for years and have takeaway most weekends, won’t be using again. Appalling service.

Great food but slowly getting more and more expensive.

We have had takeaways for about 4 times. The first was brilliant. But it has slowly gone down. Orders not right garlic fried rice comes as pilau. Chips cold. Lids on wrong curries . Give them one more chance

The worst takeaway food that I ever had in months.. ordered food for moms birthday during this quarantine time. It is very clear that the meat was frozen and used for a long time.. no taste of a meat.. lamb taste like chewing a rubber material.. chicken is very old kept in freezer. I could really feel that.. this might be different if eating in as they will be serving warm food.. but still there is bare standard to be kept by restaurant while serving their customers whether it is eat in or take away.. NEVER TRY TAKE AWAY PROPLE AND ALL THE BEST WITH YOU EAT IN HERE

I have eaten at cafe balti several times and always enjoyed it,so with the lockdown decided to try a takeaway What a mistake it was the takeaway I’ve ever had absolutely tasteless my wife had a half razor and said the same and as for the onion barges and chicken pakora just s..t sorry but won’t be using again

Couldn't bring myself to order from here on my final attempt as they tried to scam me. Over the years I've had a few meals from here and now I will NOT ever order a Korma with the chicken just the sauce as the quality of the chicken Is very poor and is horrible and rubbery. So I attempted to order 2 nan breads and curry sauce plus Korma sauce an meat samosas and veggie samosas and was told it's £27 so I asked for a break down and I was told nan bread 2.40each so £4.80 and sauces £3 each so up to £10.80 now and then samosas £4 each making a grand total of £18.80 he then told me best price I can have it for is.. and at that point I said no thanks pal you have calculated this 10 times and still can't work it out. I asked to speak to the manager but I was told he was too busy to speak to me so I've ordered from else were and will never think to order from here in the future.

Food is lovely but over the phone orders always get over charged. I always query cost and it suddenly drops by a significant amount. Shame about this as it spoils my rating.

Worst curry I've ever eaten. I never usually bother commenting on these. But, no salad, no dips not a poppadom in site. Chicken was really tough. Rice was hard. Naan was stale and left a horrible after taste. Will never use again. Thanx for the 20 quid I wasted. Seriously need to sort your kitchen out guys sorry! You don't even acknowledge the poor reviews and say sorry!!!

Amazing service, great tasting food with great customer service. Has to be said that the delivery drivers are also really caring and respectful. Honestly cannot ask for more. Did i mention the prices are so reasonable... worth giving these guys a try and you will not regret it.

I ordered from this company on Friday night. I had driven two hours to get to Birmingham to see a friend and I have to say I thought it all looked like packaged products. Like it was all thrown together and microwaved. I then found a large, piece of plastic in my mouth which had been cut off the corner of a bag.. I thought at first was a piece of over fried onion and was shocked when I spat it out. I called to complain and they gave me the money back purely for the chicken tikka that it was found in Absolutely disgusted. If that was my company I would of refunded the entire order (which was £22.25). I will be passing this on to quality control.

Your typical run of the mill mass produced fake curries targeted towards english people who don't know what a proper curry is. Meat, rice and generic curry sauce is boiled on a Monday served throughout the week. One of the worst meals I've had, when I asked when the meat was cooked, nobody was able to tell me, shocking that a restaurant doesnt know when their own meat was cooked. Eating here is a health risk. I feel ashamed for Asians that these kind of curry houses exist in such vast numbers in the UK. Meat boiled in water last week, thrown into a sauce and a few spices added, heated on a pan for 5min, is NOT a curry.

Our whole meal was spoilt last night by the golden syrup/honey that was plastered on our naan bread. Don't know why they had done it and I never asked for syrup/honey on the naan bread. Way too sweet. Travelled a long way for this and won't be using again after this, and the balti sauce was too thick also. Usually good food from here but was let down badly last night.

Ordered a nargis kebab, egg was green instead of the normal yellow colour the egg should actually be on this particular dish. Chicken tikka masala curry was very watery and not very tasteful at all. Poor customer service. Would not recommend

Don't judge a book by its cover. Very tasty food, extremely friendly and catering staff. Smashing £10 deal including starter, main, sides, Ice cream and coffee. The exterior and interior isn't the most appealing but I only presume they use their money to uphold the high standards they deliver of customer service and food quality.

Really enjoyed my curry, i liked the way the can of coke was delivered inside my rice box so it cooled the rice down to a tounge friendly temperature

Been going here for years ,starting to get familiar. Waited over a hour for starter tonight. Lovely food and staff but no apology from management tonight. Slipping a bit lately.

I am holding off from a 1 star due to I’ve always had good food and reliable service however tonight they said usual see you in the hour. An hour and 10 mins goes so I call them they said give driver 5 mins he left over 12 minutes ago. An additional 10 minutes goes by and I have to phone again and this time they say they can’t get hold of the driver and I say it’s bit very good to which I’m told other people are waiting over an hour it’s not just me. I would not order from somewhere that a curry rice and starter will take more than an hour and half not to show. Worst thing I’ve paid by card and wish I hadn’t because I would of cancelled the order told them to forget it and gone else where if it was a cash order

Meal deal robbery .Leathery ribs. Undercooked wings. Fancy named overpriced curry that was just a balti with pickle in it. Totally ignored when it came to coffee and ice cream. Don't waste your money here.

I was waiting on a curry out side as my partner was inside ordering it anyway my dog got off the lead so had to chase him and ended up round the back off some takeaways anyway I seen a delivery and I seen a delivery truck turn up and I seen curry jar sauces I thought nothing off it untill I ate it and thought this was very bland and reminded me off the jar sauce my mum used to use so then got me. Wandering if it was there delivery

Indian food has long since been my favorite, At home in Manchester I buy at least one every week, and try all the local take-outs and restaurants. I am visiting friends in Birmingham and decided to try a local place here, and chose Cafe Balti, as it had won Take Away of the year with Hungryhouse online. Oh my goodness. I must have had 500 Indian meals in my life being 46, but never have i enjoyed a meal as much as this. Totally beautiful Vindaloo with large, un-fatty chunks of lamb. I ordered chips, and they were nice, and I do not exaggerate when i tell you the portions size is huge, enough for three. The naan bread was large, smooth and fluffy. The delivery service was quick and friendly. I had another before I left! To say well done Cafe Balti is an understatement !!!! Abby
