Promised myself I would go in one day as I come from Saltcoats originally and I am a Railways nostalgia freak. Had to wait on my train on a pouring wet day so in I went. Charming young lady was very welcoming and efficient had a filling bacon roll and a lovely LARGE strong coffee. Spotlessly clean and all the other customers were served in a friendly helpful manner. Well done ladies ticked all the boxes.

A welcoming and friendly attitude without it coming across as false bonhomie was a definite plus to our visit. As we were only stopping off for a quick bite we were impressed with the options available on the menu and the value for money that it offers. The over all atmosphere was one of it being a social hub for locals, but one that avoided being unwecoming to others. Recommended.

Having looked round Saltcoats town centre which, to be blunt, is pretty horrible, the Cafe at the Station came as a bit of a relief. It is a very smart cafe situated in an attractive building which, with its high ceiling and large, arched windows, is a fine example of British railway station architecture. The cafe has a simple menu of hot and cold meals and snacks, all at very reasonable prices. We had very tasty bacon and egg rolls which we enjoyed with cups of tea. The service was friendly and very good and we would certainly come here again - perhaps for the “mince and chips” a fine Scottish staple!

Drop in for lunch after walking along the beach from Ardrossan to Saltcoats. The member of staff working behind the counter was cheerful, didn't stop serving, clearing tables and tidying behind the counter tops for a second. The tables and floor were spotless. The soup and a sandwich were average but the sandwiches were freshly made so that's a real plus. The basin size cup of coffee was enjoyable. Alas we missed out on the homemade scones because they had all been scoffed earlier in the day. The cafe does all day breakfast but we had not realised this until three customers dropped in just before closing time and ordered breakfast. They were made equally welcome even though it was so close to closing time. We'll be ordering our scones in advance next time we visit!

Fantastic cafe and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and no matter what day you go in there always full of smiles and cheer! The food is delicious and they offer £1 days on main meals too which will help many people have a warm meal. I wish more cafes had the same caring attitude this cafe has. Definitely a must try!

Was in Saltcoats to do some work one Saturday morning, and had skipped on breakfast, so thought I would pop in to the Cafe at the Station for a morning roll. Really warm welcome upon entering, and the settings are really nice. Ordered a cafe and a roll with scone, pudding and sausage to go. Freshly prepared in no time and good prices. Will be back here again for sure in future.

It’s rare nowadays for any business, of all types that make you feel like you are the most important person, that you are appreciated and your custom is highly valued. This is exactly how you feel every time you visit Cafe @ The Station.Service with not just a smile, but a genuine interest in your day, food served exactly as you ordered and is changed or altered without fuss.A Cosmopolitan, modern atmosphere where you could sit for hours, spotless and comfortable.Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is a bother. Food is exceptional. In summary: An absolute delight, it’s why my wife and I make a point of visiting at least once a week. Even going specifically to visit and not just because we are in the area.

Visited this cafe today. My mask slipped from my face and the 'blonde' member of staff very quickly pointed out to wear my mask. This was before greeting the customer?! I was sat by the door. The main door was wide open hence a chilly reception and table. My order was a roll and square sausage without butter. Promptly arrived WITH butter, well a yellowishspread. A flabby affair of a roll with a sad slice of 'meat' greyish colour. I pointed out I said no butter. The 'blonde' staff appeared disinterested showing no signs of a 'sorry'. This cafe was awful in terms of customer service. However if you were local, you get a smile and nothing too much trouble. This I did notice.

Don't let the fact that the cafe is right next to the platform put you off. This is a lovely quiet cafe with a variety of seating from traditional tables and chairs to comfy couches. There are books you can read and some toys for small children. The large windows make it bright and airy even on dull days. The paninis are great and fresh cakes go great with the various teas and coffees on offer. The suki teas are a real treat served on a bamboo tray. It's a restful place to spend an hour to yourself or catch up with friends.

I often nip in here for breakfast open from 9am or lunch. Food is unpretentious and good value for money. Nice coffee and cakes as well. Very reasonably priced. My breakfast of two rashers of good back bacon, egg, sausage and potatoe scones with toast and tea was just less than £6 . Staff are nice and friendly and place is very clean and modern. Parking is just about 300 yards away. Also it's dog friendly which was great as I had the dog with me. It's also child friendly and have been a few times with my grandchildren.

A delightful cafe next to Saltcoats Station with parking and regular trains. The place is very attractively laid out with sofas or tables and good views of the town. Service was very prompt and the food arrived quickly in good portions and well presented. A good range of the usual favourites and a selection of home baking of a high than usual standard. Prices were very reasonable. Good coffee and decent sized cups. Books can be borrowed for you to read - you can relax here. A copy of the train timetable would be an extra helpful treat.

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

For a start, I don’t understand why a commercial building built in the late 90’s doesn’t have a lift given my guess of the average age of their clientele. We went for tea and a scone with my mum who is recovering from getting a new knee. We were told that we could have a table in the foyer cos the restaurant wasn’t accessible. They then changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t order a tea and a scone because there was already 6 people in their restaurant and it would be at least 30 minutes before they could put in a new order. There were 4 people in the empty shop, two in the foyer and presumably numerous staff in the cafe. Between them they couldn’t get us a tea and a scone. We won’t be back.
