We were booked in for the last evening of the season, after a long day traveling. But what a great find. The pork was fall-to-bits tender in a great sauce. Proper, well cooked vegetables. And the brownie with ice cream was perfectly judged. We'll be trying the lunch menu while on the island for sure. ETA: popped back for lunch, sat outside with the sound of waves breaking, great Cullen Skink with cheese scone. Yeah, top marks for The Shore.

What a find and a must visit if you are on Arran. The location is brilliant we sat outside on the decking right by the sea but they also offer tables inside. Dog friendly and also very accommodating staff. They were very busy when we first arrived so we asked about taking away but the lovely kind staff created space for us by adding an extra table outside, top class service that you don't get much these days. Fantastic from the moment I stepped through the door til I left. I had the best hand cut chips, so crispy and fluffy inside. I’am a scone lover so I have sampled a fair few but that fruit scone was incredible! I loved that it was served warm, my mum is only other person to do that so it was such a treat to enjoy a warm scone with really good butter, jam and cream while looking out to sea. I took my little dog in, we don’t usually go out but the ladies were so welcoming, they even spoiled him to some gravy bones and water. The team were so lovely, warm & friendly. After an overnight in hotel you never need lunch at lunch time, good job we found The shore on way round island later in day. What a gorgeous restaurant only sorry we didn't have more time to spend at the pitch and putt next door, need to come back.Situated litterly on the pebble shore at jetty, with tables outdoors for the best days and loads inside to weather a storm. Gorgeous decor and felt very safe. Menus on the wall instead of touching. Plenty to choose from but with small amount of fillings. We had soup with cheese scone, toastie and sandwich which was all delicious. It did all come in carry out packaging which considering we were sitting in, felt quite wasteful. Finished off with Arran ice cream, as all the cakes had gone, they were nearly closing. We definitely recommend.

I was so glad to have found this beautiful restaurant with my family, we arrived as footpassengers on the ferry and had not realised that the bus service has changed a lot since our last visit! We received a very warm welcome from the lovely ladies despite being rather bedraggled and having a grumpy toddler in tow, and were seated at a table with the most incredible view.Said lovely ladies could not do enough for our little boy who was more than happy eating everything not tied down and colouring in which he was provided with. Our food was simple but so, so good which was just what we needed after a cold day. Soup with a light cheese scone and a toastie with cous cous salad and nuggets and chips from the kids menu. I hadn't realised it was the owner/chef who brought our meals out, if we did we would have thanked him then. Staff couldn't do more, supplying us with a WiFi code and helping us figure out the next bus back to the ferry. All in all turns out we only had time to have lunch on our trip. We are all more than happy with that, what a credit to the local area.

We had a variety of breakfast items: the full breakfast (also known as the "meat "breakfast), the veggie breakfast, and a breakfast bap with bacon and haggis. All were delicious. The coffee is the best we have had so far on Arran (The Shore is our favourite place for a takeaway flat white). Dogs are made most welcome, with a bowl of water brought to the table and a small saucer of dog treats. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. All in all this was a delightful experience. Went for dinner here on 6.7.19. We were staying in Whiting Bay and had popped in for ice cream (lots of lovely flavours and made on the Island too) one afternoon. They are only open on Friday and Saturday for evening meals. They have two menus for alternate weekends. Had we realised it was so good we've had gone on our first Saturday evening and eaten there on our last night. Not a huge choice but enough to keep everyone happy. The staff were charming and very efficient. You need to take your own beer and wine. I was worried a couple of the starters may have been too hot for me. We asked for advice and were tole they were not too hot. That was correct and I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon started. All food was attractively presented and was very tasty. A 3 course meal with coffee or tea to finish was fairly priced too. 2 Courses are an option. Well worth a visit during the day for coffee and cake or an evening meal.
