Knowledgeable and friendly staff providing well cooked and presented food from a short enough menu to ensure fresh cooking throughout. Lemon tart with blueberry coulis was a standout and all With the best 180 views in the town.

We made a reservation at Niblicks for our first night in St Andrews. (It had been recommended by a golfing buddy in the States for the best fish and chips) and they were!!! What a great way to begin our stay with a view of The Old Course!! The atmosphere was very peaceful and the food was great!!! So glad we were able to enjoy!!!

Played golf with my son-in-law 2nd May 2024 on the Jubilee so treated to lunch. New menu was perfectly balanced with something for everyone. It was busy, hadn't booked but we were greeted with a welcoming smile and quickly escorted to our seat with stunning views overlooking the Old Course. Food arrived very quickly with a friendly face. We only had the burger and club sandwich but cooked and presented beautifully. I will definitely be back to take my wife and family. 5 star. Outstanding all round.

We spent a month travelling in the UK and France and this was my favourite lunch restaurant on our trip! Beautiful fit out. The food and wine selections are excellent and the views of the beach and golf course are incredible. We had a lovely waitress, and I really appreciated the number of gluten free options stated on the menu. This isn’t common to have them listed like this in the UK for some reason. And to top it all off, it’s quite inexpensive. Thank you so much!

Extremely disappointing Mother’s Day meal. I had tried to contact the restaurant on the morning & the previous day to confirm my booking time as the restaurant had not been intouch to confirm this especially with it being Mother’s Day. When I arrived I was given a different menu than the Mother’s Day one … I was sat with this menu for over 10mins before I could get staffs attention. There was other people seated but wasn’t anything too busy. After a discussion with his colleague I was brought over the Mother’s Day menu & told I hadn’t booked for Mother’s Day when infact I had. It advertised “a free glass of bubbles for each mother, that didn’t arrive. 35 minutes later our drinks arrived the table and then another 45 mins later our Sunday roast arrived, it wasn’t hot but due to waiting for so long I didn’t want to complain & have to wait for another plate to arrive. I have been previously & the roast was absolutely outstanding but sadly on Sunday it was very disappointing. I then waited for another 25 mins & dessert had not arrived so I cancelled it as by this time I just wanted to leave as this had already put a dampener on Mother’s Day. There was no explanation of why the service was so slow or an apology. Fantastic views but sadly not the service to match.

It was hot and the portion sizes were amazing for the price we paid. The environment is second to none and will be perfect in the summer as its right at the 18th hole. Can't wait to go back and try what else they have to offer in the future.

We came for the Mothers day lunch. Opted for 2 course as we all fancied dessert but not starters. After a 45 min wait our main courses arrived. I had roast beef. The food itself was tasty and nicely cooked but sadly it was lukewarm. The other two meals were the same. As we had waited so long l ate it....the flavours almost compensating for the disappointing temperature! ( except for the yorkshire pudding which was dry and pretty tasteless). Ironically we ordered chips which were really hot when they finally arrived...another wait!! We were going to have dessert but after another wait and no one came to take the order, we decided to call it a day. I actually was chatting to a lady in the ladies loo, and she had the same issues...45 min wait and lukewarm food. She had heard another table discussing the same problems. In hindsight l wish l had sent the lukewarm food back, but it was my son's treat to me, and l didn't want to cause a scene. It is a real.l shame as had the food been hot, it would have been a delicious meal.

Been to this cafe lots; it’s a great location and good food but every time we go it’s so frustrating having to take an internal table (without the views) while we have our food while witnessing the best tables, normally for 4 people, taken up by one student who is blatantly using the cafe for free WiFi and sitting there with one coffee!!! They have spent next to nothing, selfishly taking up the table with the beautiful views while working on their laptop, folders and papers spread everywhere, while people who have paid to eat their meals and appreciate the view are forced to just look on! It is so frustrating and really leaves a bad taste in the mouth (excuse the pun). I know it’s a student town but this isn’t a student cafe!!! Please do something about this as the ignorance of these people really spoils the experience and lately has made us think twice about visiting.

With a 360 degree view of the sea, the distant hills and the legendary St Andrews' Old Course fairways, this cafe is a writer's paradise and my own favourite. I come up here at least once a year because my parents used to live in St Andrews, and I fell in love with the town, its architecture and its seascapes. The Cafe at the Museum is an outright winner for sitting, gazing at the in-coming or out-going tide for inspiration, and writing. Settled at a table you will be undisturbed, unquestioned and unhurried. The coffee is good and the Scottish morning roll with fried eggs is scrumptious. It is also brilliant for people watching, in fact, an ideal writer's 'happy place.'

Having looked at the photo of the cake stand on the gallery above and read the reviews, we chose this for an 86th birthday treat with our relative. Apart from reserving a table with a nice view for us, they were otherwise totally unprepared. Our relative uses a walking aid and tires easily but the young server kept us standing for ages saying she didn’t know anything about afternoon tea and this was just a self service cafe. After checking with others we were shown to our table. Then she suggested that I join the long queue at the counter to order our drinks. When she saw the look on my face she quickly changed her mind and took our tea order. Five minutes later, three cake stands were plonked on the table. No explanation, no request for sandwich preferences. Our relative doesn’t eat chicken but one of the three small finger sandwiches was chicken so we had to swap around. There was NO hot savouries as shown on the photo above and NO sponge cakes.. instead we each got a Tunnocks tea cake and a quarter each of two traybakes, one of which was mint, which I don’t eat. Again no choice. The single scone was large and more of a sponge consistency. Again no choice of a fruit scone or jam flavour. The server did not return at all and my husband had to go to the counter for extra hot water when our tea ran out. Then 8 people took the table (for 4) right next to us and squeezed in all around it. They were nice but noisy and spilled over into our space and the staff made no attempt to help us out. Surely if you pay for afternoon tea as a special treat, some attempt should be made to keep a nice corner of the place for that purpose. It was clear the table next to us needed more space and we left a little earlier than planned. I then went into the queue to pay the £37.50 for the three of us. Only to be advised by the woman on the checkout that she didn’t know how to process it and I’d have to take a seat and wait for the manager - that took another 5 minutes. She did ask how it went and I told her it was poor and very disappointing. She said she would tell the chef and they couldn’t do much more because they have such a tiny kitchen! Then DON’T offer afternoon tea. My elderly relative was clearly disappointed but we made the best of it. The views ARE amazing, but this is just a cafe stop and the afternoon tea is a disgrace. Before you book, please compare my photo of it with one promoted above. There is NO comparison.

After having a wonderful experience back in Jan 2018 (see my raving review). We just recently returned to find it all changed. It is self serve now which although it is not what we had expected we were willing to give it a go. We arrived at 11:31am and were told we were too late for breakfast, they stopped serving at 11:30am. Okay, fair enough, so we start looking at the menu board, there was a sign that said 'ask to see full menu' so we did. The waitress told us the menu was on the board, I mentioned the sign, she said 'they must be on the tables' and walked away. At first I thought she had gone to get one, but no she just went in the back and never came out. So we chose things from the board. I went to the register to order and was told (by the same guy who said we were too late for breakfast) that they had stopped serving food until noon. Frustrated,we walked out. So disappointing after such wonderful earlier experiences, Wonder if management has changed hands again. Either way, that staff needs a talking to.

If thought through they could open many more hours and add to the Old Course experience. Menu limited.... the couple of bits of cake leftover looked nice.

Terrible service or should say complete lack of service. Entered the tea room at 4.45pm last week and stood by waited to be seated sign for five minutes before deciding to sit at table. The staff were all standing together at the counter and seemed to be chatting to each other and totally ignoring us. I ended up having to go up and ask for a coffee and and cake and was only then told that they shut at 5.00pm. I said that we only wanted a quick coffee and was told they could give it in a take away cup! There were several other people sitting drinking coffee and beer in glasses at this time ( far from ready to leave ) . The staff had no customer service , were rude and had a very poor attitude. Would advise to go anywhere else. The staff at the Jigger Inn were polite, friendly and very attentive and the very reasonably priced food / drinks . The owners should look at carrying out secret shopper visits ( your losing money due to poor staff !! )

On a recent stay, we firstly had brunch at this cafe and then met up with friends the next day of lunch and although there were issues, we were more than satisfied with the service, food and cost. When we arrived on Saturday mid-morning, we hoped for a sea view but was told the table was reserved for midday...I explained that if their service was quick, we would be finished and gone by then, so they showed us to the table , which provided a super view of St Andrews Bay. Having ordered Eggs Benedict and Sausages and Egg rolls, we were surprised to be told a short time late, that the cafe was out of eggs....what at 11 o'clock on a busy saturday morning ?.....transpired that the days delivery of eggs had been dropped !

We arrived at The St Andrews golf course and had a lovely lunch at The Cafe at the Museum but... yes but... when we arrived it took them more than 10 min to seat us at a table, we then waited another 10 min before I had to get up and ask if anyone is going to serv us or do we have to go to the counter and order which their answer to me was oh we come too you to take the order you pay at the counter.... so they took our order and 15 min later brought it too us with no cutlery, serviettes or even a decent question of would you like some sauces with that... they just walked away! Again I had to get up and ask for these and what do they bring us?... a fork and serviettes... no knifes no sauces! Again I had to then help myself to sauces, knifes and fork from another table. Oh and not to forget the two teas that we orderred was just dumped on the table when they brought it to us. Overall I can not fault the lunch it was great so thank you and 10/10 to the chefs for a lovely lunch but service from the cafe staff is a 2/10.

As we entered this cafe we were met by the manager saying the coffee machine was broken and it would be a while... we persevered as I was with golf fans and the location/views are fantastic. It turned out that the view was the only redeeming quality. I was sorely disappointed . This place has the potential to be a thriving cafe but something major needs to change in the way it is run before that is a possibility!!

We stopped for lunch here given the attractive building and it's location, with amazing views over West sands.

This cafe has one of the best locations you could imagine and our window table overlooking the St Andrews Golf Course was just perfect. However, you could not say that about the service! Having been met at the door and asked whether we were having breakfast or just drinks, cakes etc we were shown to the table. The cafe did not seem overly busy and there was plenty of spare tables, but many had not been cleared. I overheard a member of staff great a party at the door and asked them how long they had got because service would be slow due to how busy they were!! This was incredible. Nobody came near us for over 15 minutes and eventually I managed to ask a member of staff who was clearing a table if we had to order at the counter and he stated no, we come to you and I will be back shortly. Another 10 minutes went by as I watched him doing something at the counter and chatting to other staff and then he disappeared into the kitchen. By this time people on the adjacent table who came in long after us had ordered and been served! Eventually he came to us, took our order for two hot drinks and a scone and went off to fetch them. The scone arrived within minutes, but the drinks were another ten minutes! Our order, when complete was fine. As I say this location is worth it just for the view, but I sincerely hope that the management take heed of my comments and dramatically improve service, otherwise this business will go downhill. Just because we are visitors to the city and may never return does not mean we should not warrant good service after all a customer is the most important person to walk through their doors! I am not the first to write a review commenting on poor service, so it was not a one off.

オールドコースや海岸を見渡せる立地で、お昼時は世界各地からの観光客でとても混雑。スタッフのサービスもてんてこ舞いとなりがち。軽い昼食だったが、十分においしかった。窓からの眺めを楽しめた。

When we arrived in St. Andrews my husband wanted to visit the museum straight away but I needed a little sustenance. Usually I am a bit leery of onsite cafes but it looked so bright and cheery I decided to give it a go.

Visited the café recently for the first time. My wife and I each ordered a scone which was described in the menu as "scone, jam and clotted cream, £1.95". When the bill arrived, I queried the fact that the above had each been charged £1 more than the menu price and was told the extra was for the jam and clotted cream. I pointed out the menu did not make clear that these were extra and the waitress said a lot of people had queried it. However, no concession, very poor show. This is against the Trades Description Act but, rather than sweating the small stuff, we just won't go again.

Had morning coffee here overlooking the old course and R & A building. Coffee was good and the scones the biggest I have seen. Add the strawberry jam and cream, perfect. Service was fine and they quickly cleaned a table so we had a window seat.

On a day visit to St Andrews, we decided to have our morning coffee at the Cafe at the Museum. After following the signs to the cafe, and climbing up the outside steps, we were met by a member of staff who welcomed us and showed us to a table by the window, overlooking the Old Course. The waitress came & took our order very quickly. We both had Latte Coffees, accompanied by a scone with butter and jam. They came very quickly. The coffee was very hot and very good. The scone was quite large, but on cutting it open it was a very dry, even with the butter and jam on it. It was as if it had been frozen. Another cup of coffee would have helped, but not at the price! The tables were all very clean & tidy, but looking under some of them there were a lot of crumbs on the floor.

We stopped in for a drink and quick eat only to learn that "we close in 30 minutes" and we waited for 10 minutes before my husband went to find a server. By this time, all we had time for was a quick cup of coffee.

My wife and I visited yesterday for the first time. The venue has a lovely outlook and a nice open space seating area. We ordered from a waitress who didn't seem very helpful as when we asked what the soup choices were advised it was on the board. We decided to ordered the same choice of soup and my wife chose ham and I ordered chicken sandwiches. The food for one person arrived which was my wife's order. As there was no sign of my food I said to start without me. After about 5 minutes I managed to get another waitress to come over and asked her to check on my order. After another 5 minutes although I could see these waitresses wandering around. I had to go over to the payment area to query what was happening. The original waitress said she ordered a sandwich and you ordered soup. Although it all arrived on one plate. I didn't appreciate being told we had ordered something other than what we know we did or my wife being referred to as "she". We didn't even get an apology when we went to settle the bill. I would say on a more positive note that the food was very good.

Soup and a sandwich from local ingredients. Soup was good. Sandwich was stale and from a refrigerator. Basic mistake that should not occur. Not happy.

Bought a great double espresso and slice of lemon cake as a takeaway option. Always good service and the staff are very friendly. I try to stop here when I can on my way to or from Perth. The Lemon cake was lovely with just the right amount of icing and had a sweet tangy lemon jam in a delicious sponge.
