We were looking forward to a lovely lunch as we remembered that we had enjoyed a meal here but it was a while ago. I looked at the menu beforehand and thought there wasn’t much choice but that the limited range would mean it would be extra good. Also thought that the ‘specials’ would give more choice and that there would be a choice of soups, always a good option. However, there was only one choice for soup and only one ‘special’ that was similar if not the same as one on the menu. We opted for a sandwich which was a dry seeded roll, the meats ham and beef were quite tough. The brioche Cumberland hot dog was unremarkable. We were not taken with dessert choices so didn’t bother. An altogether disappointing experience on a special day out with son and grandson. It wouldn’t take much to just have a bit more choice, even just some of the breakfast choices available for longer, Currently only until 11.30.

We decided to visit the car museum, as the weather was not great. As we had not had lunch we decided to pop into the cafe. We have been before and it is always really busy. We opted for the curry option which was really tasty and very good quality. It did not take long for us to get our food, which set us up for the rest of the afternoon. We were hoping the museum had a cafe as it was lunchtime when we arrived, but we didn't expect anything as good as this. It's quite large so we were able to find a table. Our order seemed to be a while arriving but was well worth it. Beautifully presented, totally delicious and worth the cost. I'd recommend the open Smoked Salmon sandwich.

My family and I went here whilst visiting the Lakeland Motor Museum (a very charming, likeable and informative attraction - but that's another story!) and though the food was nice (not exceptional by any means) we couldn't believe the prices. To give you an indication of the charges I had an all-day breakfast which cost £9.95! It was nice but nothing particularly special and the portions were not generous (there was not much of each element). It's like you basically have no choice because once you're there at the museum there is no where else to eat so it's a recipe for being fleeced. Sorry, but this is a cafe - not a (London/A la carte) restaurant - shouldn't you be charging lower prices?!! I would say to anyone visiting the museum to stay clear and bring a packed lunch instead.

Whilst this scones here are absolutely delicious they are extremely overpriced! I decided to have afternoon cream tea here which consisted of a scone, small pot of jam and small pot of clotted cream for £3.50 plus a pot of tea for £2.10 ok that's not too bad , however I asked for a takeaway scone on its own which the young lady said would be £3.50 I questioned her to make sure she had it right but she was adamant she had so I gracefully declined the takeaway and just ate half the scone and took the other half home so as not to disappoint my daughter.A baker myself I am more than aware as to the cost of ingredients, cooking facilities etc but this was beyond reason. I don't mind paying for something I know will be good however I don't appreciate being ripped off!

This cafe has been open a few years now and as very frequent visitors to the area it was put on our list. However, if I'm honest it is a bit lacking. It is a super location, great big free car park and looking over the water on a nice day is heaven. The menu has become less vegetarian friendly over the years with a meagre cheese and pickle sandwich being the only offering. No vegan which is why our Sunday meal consisted of two small metal buckets of chips!Alas also - the coffee. £3.50 for a cup of coffee from a dolls tea set doesn't represent value for money so we opted for a can of pop.How much better this could be with a few minor changes

Пока мужчины гуляли по музею, мы наслаждались прекрасным видом на реку и вкуснейшими закусками...Рекомендую всем, кто любит мороженое - попробовать местное домашнее мороженое из черной смородины!

We had the fruit scones, they are huge and come with butter, jam and clotted cream.....with a pot of tea for me and coffee for hubby, sitting out in the sunshine....fabulous....and we got change off a tenner! If you visit the motor museum or are simply out for the day, have a pit stop , it's a beautifully clean place!

We were there on a very busy Sunday so there were long queues to get served but once hot food was ordered it arrived quickly at tables. We only had coffee and cake but friends had the Sunday Lunch which looked really good value at £8.50 a head and every plate was cleared by those eating it!

We stopped off here after a drive around Lake Windermere. The cafe is situated next to the River Leven and the Lakeland Motor Museum - there is ample free parking on site. We didn't have any cooked food - just had coffees and scones with clotted cream. The scones were massive, and delicious. The bakewell tart looked very tempting too, but I was stuffed after the scone :-( maybe next time.

We ordered 3 of their speciality burgers and a children's griddled chicken. We also bought cakes and took them to our table. The food took 48 minutes to arrive. The 'special' burgers were foul. They were rubbery and greasy and the brioche rolls were burned and disintegrated on touch. The children's chicken was paper thin and yet was pink inside. The pre salted chips were a nasty surprise as the copious amounts of salt rendered them inedible. I paid £48 for a meal that we left due to it being inedible. This is polite considering my disgust.

Service friendly and order taken quickly but took far too long to be served what was soup and sandwiches. Both were tasty but spoilt by wait. However this cafe did provide the first free parking we came across in the area. Make sure you have lots of pound coins if visiting the lakes.

Went here as it adjoined the Lakeland motor museum and we needed to eat. Food was good but a little pricey. This does seem to be the case in the Lake District. Ambience good and the staff were pleasant. Outside area is pretty overlooking the river.

Lovely ambiance great setting and nice staff. Both chose the burger it was in a nice bun with great chips and decent coleslaw £7.95.Basically what was probably a great burger out of the fridge raw had been rubberised by whatever cooking method they employed.Eatable yes, Tasty yes, only if you have your own teeth.

Having previously visited thought we would stop in for lunch. Sat at table. No staff acknowledged us. No offer of menu. Group who had come in after us were offered menus then waitress proceeded to take their order. At this point we decided to leave. Still not a word spoken by any staff member. Very unprofessional and poor customer service

So disappointing. This used to be our favourite pub in Cumbria with excellent service, beers, wine, food , ambiance , all the things needed for an excellent experience. BUT, this has obviously changed hands recently. Firstly the fires weren't lit, a chimney problem apparently, only one lady serving. Soup was tasteless, cheese roll was hard baguette obviously microwaved and cheese was bland. The mediocre wine was served in a cheap thick glass which I would be embarrassed to have. How can a pub decline so rapidly ?

Cold and smelled of dogs on arrival. Waited ages to be served and the waitress was more interested on who was at the bar rather than taking our table order for 10 people. Food was very salty and the steak pie in particular was terrible. Every meal as standard/basic or frozen style food. The whole place is run down and miserable. We went off trip advisor reviews as well on a visit to the area and wished we hadn’t. Go to The Pheasant Inn down the road at Allithwaite instead that was lovely food and fab service.
