Café 38 in Liverpool

We took advantage of the morning special, bacon/sausage bap and a tea/americano for £6.50, and what a deal it is. The bacon bap was excellent, best I've had in a café. Both the tea and the Americano were hot and the morning pick me up that we like.

Visited 28/3/25 party of 2 for all day breakfast .The full monty £10. Including coffee. Nice food pleasant staff.

Came for lunch before matinee, only to be told the kitchen was closed because there was a theatre performance this afternoon! Choice of goats cheese tart, which was good but rather a small portion or soup. Staff very friendly, but disappointed in the lack of food!

Very nice looking place with good food! Sadly the host (a lady with brown hair and big black glasses) told her co-worker in a mumbling tone “stupid tourists” after we ordered thinking we couldn’t hear her. I don’t know what we could’ve possibly done to make her say this.

Went there for lunch and really enjoyed the view. Sandwiches were all right. Too bad the lady at the till referred to us as “stupid tourists” to her colleague when ordering.

This cafe is a great find. Good freshly prepared food at reasonable prices.

Nice vibe and good service, but the food is pretty mediocre. It's reflected in the prices though, so no hard feelings.

Lovely cafe. Very glad I found it. All good is reasonable price and all day breakfast with both veggie and vegan options and free tea/coffee cannot be faulted. Love the big curved windows onto Queen Sq and staff are great too. Definitely recommended 🩷

Typical Liverpool food with good views. Incredible prices and very efficient service. The food was very good although the menu was short.

Popped on for hot drinks, ended up having sandwiches and the soup of the day, chicken, delicious. Lovely service, and a great spot for people watching. Reasonable prices too. Recommended.

Pity I didn’t find this place earlier. Nice food well priced and excellent service.

Came to Cafe 38 for our last brunch before we left Liverpool. The staff were lovely and the food and drink was good (and so reasonable). We also love supporting places connected with the Arts, so loved that this is part of the Theatre site. Highly reccommend. It is also a great place to watch the world go by, as they have large glass windows around you, on ground level.

Must try the Mocha coffee . They are so nice specially staff behaviour. Also try the sandwich . Either egg mayo or mozzarella if you like bit toasted . Don't forget to try Uk best chips . I highly recommend all to visit cafe38 as it’s centrally location at Queens square .

Couldn't recommend more if your looking for a bite to eat or just coffee and cake. Staff were very friendly and helpful, coffee was tasty and the cake was lovely. Best thing of all is the price, it was so reasonable so great if on a budget!

Fantastic place! We had a tea/coffee and panini each. Huge and delicious panini, generous filling with great bread. So cheap for the size of the food and the lovely decor.

Great place on edge of City Centre - had a sandwich and coffee - great prices.

Filthy, the tables are sticky and no-one was clearing them or cleaning them for the hour that i was in there. Food presentation was appalling and the drinks come in cardboard cups with nowhere to put your tea bags. Shame as if I were managing the place if would be one of Liverpool's top cafe's.

Located right next to Queen's Square Bus Station and just round the corner from Lime Street, Café 38 is an ideal place to enjoy lunch, as we did today. Friendly helpful staff and a nice range of sandwiches and panini to choose from and freshly made soup every day. The coffee was excellent as well. If you're looking for a bite to eat or waiting for a bus/train or to meet friends, this is well worth a visit.
