We have been regular customers at Cafe 33 for a few years and have enjoyed many coffees and cakes/traybakes. However, we were most distress during our recent visit when we overheard one of the staff (mature white haired lady) making derogatory comments about the previous owners management of Cafe 33 and the quality of baking. Not only was this unprofessional it was outrageously untrue! We were quite shaken at this blatant attack. If anything the quality of baking by the previous owners was far superior to the current standard, not only that but the cleanliness and removal of dirty dishes leaves a lot to be desired compared to when the previous owners managed the cafe. Perhaps this mature white haired lady should spend more time working than spreading untruthful statements!

After reading these reviews I can see I’m not the only one who’s had a terrible experience due to this “white haired woman”. Never met a more rude person in my life let alone someone working in a customer service environment. Went in for a coffee and couldn’t enjoy it at all, as all I could hear was her talking about what I assume was a customer and she totally brought the atmosphere down in the cafe. Such a shame as coffee was brill and the other staff were lovely, but I won’t be back as long as she is there.

Visited at 1.10pm on a day where the cafe was closing at 2pm. Lady with brown hair was lovely and welcoming, checked with her that we were ok to grab a quick coffee and sandwich, which she confirmed. While she was away attending to customers outside, we could hear the lady with the white hair in the kitchen very loudly complaining/shouting that there were still 2 tables in and what time was she expected to finish. She was being extremely rude and loud about it. Couldn't believe what I'd heard, so pointed it out to my partner, not expecting for the lady to continue on complaining, but she did, even louder than before. She made it very obvious that she did not want us there and there was no way I was going to stay there after that. So we left. Absolutely mortifying. Although, not the first time I've had a bad experience with this lady. The other staff are lovely and the cakes are beautiful which is why I've always returned, but I don't think I'll be back after that.

Visited Cafe 33 with my family for a sandwich. From arriving the service was bad - we were ignored for nearly 10 mins until I had to call the waitress over. After ordering we had to wait 50 mins to get served 4 toasties and a bowl of soup - the table beside us arrived after us, got served, paid and left while we still waited for our food. Try explaining that to 2 young kids wanting their lunch! Nobody came near us to explain, so we needed up having to go in and chase the food. When it arrived we waited another 5 mins for cutlery to eat it with. When I paid I was then over charged. when I went back to complain, I told the waitress I wasn't happy with the whole experience, with the long wait, poor service, and then being overcharged. I have to stress I was not rude and did not raise my voice. When outside a few mins later leaving with my young family, and in front of the rest of the customers the owner (I assume) came out and told me the waitress was in the toilet crying because of me complaining. While I obviously did not want to upset anyone, it was as if I should n't have complained, and should have just walked away and not complained at all. If the owner had of talked to us and explained there would be a long delay, or even acknowledged it when I paid, or apologised for over charging, but she did none of these, but left the inexperienced waitress to deal with everything. Very poor management - will certainly not be back.

Came here for a light lunch after visiting Stirling. The place seems to be a busy spot in the village, so it looked like a good place. Pretty much all the precautions were in place except not all the staff were wearing face masks. The cafe has a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, but only the breakfast table by the window was available, which was fine. The food and beverage menu is pretty extensive. As I only wanted snacks, I only asked for a milkshake and chunky chips. Although there were so many things on the menu I wanted to try. The chips were nice and crisp, although I would've call them chunky (see photos). I was 3/4 of the way through the chips and the milkshake still hadn't arrived. Apparently it had gone to the wrong table, so it wasn't until I finished the chips that I got the drink, by which time my mouth was bone dry. In fairness the waitress took the cost of the milkshake off the bill by way of apology. I do have to give credit to the staff for being generous with the bill. Like I said, it was busy and things to get mixed up.

We have been regular visitors to this cafe for several years but unfortunately after our last visit we will not return. We came in on a freezing cold day and headed for the cosy corner table as there were only 2 other tables squashed together to make a table for four. We were immediately approached by the "lady" with the white hair who practically threw a metal container with cutlery on the table and walked away without a greeting or taking our order. If we had been politely asked to move we would willingly have done so but this behaviour is unacceptable hence the reason we will not return

We weren't sure if it was table service or not and I have to say that the staff were less than helpful and somewhat grumpy in their attitude. We took a Menu and sat out to peruse it. We then ordered a white coffee, hot chocolate, carrot cake and lemon drizzle cake. The hot chocolate was lovely and rich and the coffee satisfactory. Carrot cake was nicely decorated and very moist and the lemon drizzle cake was tasty. Nice home baked consistency. It was a relaxing way to pass some time and the prices were reasonable. If it is cooler, the chairs outside have blankets to let you enjoy the fresh air longer. This is a nice touch. Gluten free items are available. After having ordered our drinks and breakfast the coffee was clumpy and bitty. I had ordered salmon and eggs with a croissant but only the eggs and salmon came and I had to remind the staff that I was missing part of my breakfast. The eggs and salmon were lovely but the croissant was awful. It was so hard and tough that it was almost inedible and it was very difficult to cut through. This was disappointing as firstly having to remind someone what my order was is understandable to a degree (I know it is easy to forget things as I also work in hospitality) but then being questioned whether I had actually ordered it or not was unacceptable. Then with the food not being up to standard this really made me regret coming to spend my morning here. The staff were unapproachable and rude throughout our whole meal. After trying to explain that the coffee was clumpy and bitty at the end to the lady serving us, she obviously did not care as she just laughed and handed our change back to us. So I decided not to mention the my breakfast as I would have rather not been laughed at and also due to the fact it was obvious that the way in which the staff speak to their customers and their body language towards their customers shows that they could not care less about customer satisfaction.

Stood there for longer than comfortable while we were deliberately ignored. Questions were answered with grunts and body language of "not bothered" contrasted by a lovely smiling young woman behind the counter. We finally elected to sit at a counter as they were busy and we didn't want to sit outside. We waited and witnessed a few people after us getting their food ahead of us with no explanation.Nothing could have prepared us for the tasteless, cheap sausage, greasy egg and starched white cheap toast. Having said that, the black pudding was most excellent. The best thing was leaving and having our camera returned to us by one of the previously unfriendly member of staff. I would suggest that a smile goes a long way no matter how busy you are. The young woman behind the counter has a natural smile and presents well. Looked inviting so despite some of the recent reviews we thought we'd give it a try.... Sadly we wish we hadn't. Despite being middle of the day we were greeted with about as much enthusiasm as someone just about to close and felt immediately unwelcome. Despite the lack of customers, it took an age and numerous attempts to catch the staff's attention to be able to order, when we finally did the attitude was one of 'why are you here'...? The food was fine but given the overall experience we would never return. Should have gone elsewhere....

Despite having been warned by a friend that the service in this cafe was poor, I still risked it and took a visitor in, looking for lunch. We were greeted and shown to a table promptly and then .......nothing. There was one other table occupied in the cafe at the time and three members of staff including an older woman who should have known better standing at the counter chatting to someone they knew. More customers entered and were immediately served. At that point we stood up preparatory to walking out. Did anyone rush over or speak to us? No. We left and will not be returning and as a local I will be telling eveyone of our experiences.

Actually, no it wasn't. It was non-existent service. My wife and I go here now and then, when visiting the area and the last few times, things have been going downhill.Today, we entered and there were a few empty tables. we sat at one and had a look at the menu. As we are fairly regular, we know what we want, so the menu was put away and we waited for the waiter/waitress. And we waited.A family of 4 came in, they were served, they ordered and had their drinks served. Surely they'd come and see us next......but no. Happier for the 4 servers to be standing behind the counter, chatting.Another group of 4 came in, they ordered and when their drinks and cakes were being delivered, we'd had enough. We got up and walked out. This is not the first time we have encountered this. The last time it was blamed on them being so busy, but at the time we were in today, there were a number of empty tables and none occupied outside. We went elsewhere and for a similar amount got at least as good a meal.Don't think we will darken the door of this establishment again the next time we are in the area.Lynn T, you can criticise me all you like, but I notice that you only respond to reviews that criticise your establishment - not thank the ones that praise you. I know who you are as you dealt with a problem I had with a meal some time ago. You were culpable today, as you were one of the ones standing about chatting.

Due to the local bank being shut we popped in for a cup of tea & a coffee and we had to have some cake. I mean, we can't go in and NOT have cake, that's just rude! I had fabulous chocolate cake & Earl Grey tea, boyfriend had coffee & carrot cake. We both totally enjoyed the cakes & it wasn't a silly price either. It was busy but service was quick, efficient and friendly. I liked all the things on the wall which were also for sale.

Having visited the Wallace monument we decided to skip the on site cafe and pop into Bridge of Allan for a coffee. Having found a cafe, we phoned ahead and spoke to a chap asking him if the cafe was dog friendly. 'Yes' he said and with that we headed over. Upon entering we saw a big sign saying No Dogs! My partner popped in to clarify and this was confirmed. We mentioned we had phoned ahead 5 minutes ago and we're told dogs were welcome. The waitress replied 'Yes we are, outside on the street'.... This is a lovely wee café, cosy inside with some outdoor seating too. It serves quite decent food including fish tea's sandwiches etc, good coffee as well as baking. The last few times I visited there was an offer of a free refill of filter coffee which I enjoyed. The café also has toilets.Nice place.

We stopped at Bridge of Allan in search of a pit stop for breakfast and decided to try Cafe 33. My daughter & I had poached eggs, bacon & had the option of toast or pancakes (We had pancakes) & my husband had the full breakfast. All was freshly cooked, quality food ...really delicious!! Good selection of other breakfast options, including healthy ones. Lunch menu looked tasty too. This is obviously the place to come for coffee...the counter was loaded with homebaked cakes and biscuits. If I lived in Bridge of Allan, this would definitely be my regular coffee stop!! Would definitely recommend!!

We went to this place cause it has good reviews. The desserts are awesome! The food is good and has good portions. The atmosphere is quaint. The bathrooms were very clean. Had to pay to park on the street. It was hard to find and we actually stumbled upon it not looking for it on the main road to Stirling Castle.

I needed dinner, and a quiet place to rest for an hour. Bridge of Allan was disappointing me regarding these needs. I thought I was out of luck as it was a Sunday evening and most places would be locking up by this point. Thankfully Cafe 33 was still open and the staff were attentive and friendly.Food was good and fairly priced, quickly made and satisfying. I ordered soup, chips, cappuccino, and a fancy gingerbread milkshake. All of this for £10.30.The cafe itself has a bright, cheery charm with my pics and signs adorning the walls. There's no pretension or snobbery here. If I ever pass through this town again I will jump in for lunch or dinner and I can recommend it to others.

This is a great favourite of many locals from Bridge of Allan. A place to meet, enjoy friendship and savour the excellent coffees and 'all day breakfasts' provided. Unsophisticated but what there is is good. Some outside seating to enjoy the sun with any dog you may have and water bowls are provided. Several good shops just seconds away on either side.

We had lunch in this fantastic cafe today. Our dog was welcomed outside with a bowl of fresh water. As I am currently following a healthy eating plan I was very pleased to see a section on the menu devoted to those of us who want to lose weight but still 'eat out'. While my husband had a delicious panini I had poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and bacon - all cooked to perfection. This cafe was 'a real find'.

My friend and I walk the dog to Bridge of Allan regularly, and always stop here for a take away coffee to get us back home!!! It is without doubt the best coffee around. We have been going for so long now, the staff recognise us walking along the road, and have it lined up on the counter for us - how's that for service!!!!Also highly recommend the home made cakes - the chocolate and orange sponge (my two favourite things in the world....) is absolutely beautiful, and the vanilla and white chocolate......... to die for!!!!

A good friend lives in Bridge of Allan, and on asking him where the best breakfast stop was, he claimed ignorance - but asked us to recce Cafe 33. First impressions from the outside were that the tables under the canopy would be a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by, but given the weather conditions that morning we ventured across the threshold. We were greeted by a friendly lady who asked us to take a seat, and was there when we were ready to order. The cafe was clean and well presented with plenty of space between tables, and having placed our order it arrived promptly. The breakfast menu was extensive (I confess I didn't pay much attention to anything else, although the "specials" looked good). I would heartily recommend the French toast, and the bacon was excellent. You can even have it with maple syrup if that's the sort of thing you like. The next time I'm in Bridge of Allan, I know where I'll be having breakfast!

Impromptu stop here this morning - looked for a cafe to chill out at. Gorgeous sunny day and there were a good few tables out on the street. We had French toast, bacon & syrup, Bruchetta and a portion of fries (okay that last bit was sheer greed). Good was really lovely, and the latte very smooth. Not much in the way of a selection of tea (which disappointed my companion). Friendly staff. Pretty fast service. Got parked on the street, which I imagine was just sheer luck (30mins for free). There will be parking on some of the side streets. Oh! And there is a free cash machine immediately next to it - very handy. All in all - good location, good menu and good service.

Great place with a variety of different breakfast options and a great selection of cakes, I was here on the Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it and went back the next day. Staff are great and the food did not take long to arrive to our table. Most of the tables seat two people, so parties of more than two may struggle to be seated. Overall, this cafe was brilliant and will definitely be returning in the future!

We have enjoyed visiting The Aizle many times over the past several years for both soup and a toastie or tea/coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and efficient but the main attraction is the cakes which, although pricey are absolutely delicious. We had visited in May and had two teas and an americano coffee with hot milk and of course the cakes. Unfortunately, when we went there at the weekend, it is now apparently the practice to charge extra for the massive expense and effort involved in steaming a spoonful of milk to have with the coffee which means that a small cup of americano coffee which costs £2.65, presumably with cold milk, now has a surcharge of 75p, making it £3.40. We visit many restaurants and cafes and no-one else makes this additional charge so it really seems like greed. We won't be back.

With a few global giants nearby this independent knocks them for six in terms of quality and value. Recently reopened, post covid closure and I urge people to support this and other independent businesses, but only if they deserve it as this one clearly does. I had a bacon and a square sausage roll for breakfast and both were lovely. Returned on my last day for another bacon roll and had a couple of takeout rolls for later on the long train ride back home to Birmingham. Nice staff, nice place, deserves support. Recommended.
