Passed this Cafe several times and always wanted to give it a try, definitely be the first and last, was a bit surprised to see no prices on display but ordered 2 breakfast rolls 2 coffees and scones anyway, the price at the time I thought was rather steep but just let it go, but just been on my online banking and noticed had been charged even more than was told , just does not justify at all what was bought and the quality did not justify the price either have tasted better, very disappointing

Not as good as it used to be ... the new manager is rude and unwelcoming, the service is slow but the bacon roll was nice! Won't be in a hurry to go back there are other places with better service and not a grumpy manager!

Some time since had been here , went for coffee yestreday with our Grandson. Coffee average , babycino for Grandson ok but warned it may be too hot. Ok thanks but then good idea to offer cold milk with it ? Generally not as well kept or managed as previous. Pity.

Met my friend and we for lunch Saturday 15 jan went in to the caffee No staff greeted us We had to interrupt the staff to find out what to do. We where told sit down and come back when you order in a dismissive way. We went and sat down looked at the menu The choice was a very sparse. Nothing for a coeliac . I went up to the counter interrupted the staff again And asked if they had anything gluten free l could have. The answer was no the girl in the jumper said l could have a sandwich. But the second girl in the black t shirt kept her head down did look at me and was saying to the lady in the jumper we have no gluten free bread. No question that the soup could of been gluten free All there was on a January day was a salad and let's get this right a salad lettuce tomato cucumber etc no meet no potatoes no bread nothing So l am afraid l can't recommend them at all on customer service, choice. What happened ! This use to be great Disappointed Sarah

Lovely welcome from cafe manager. Coffee was nice & hot but the most expensive I’ve ever had out at £3.20. We had the Lemon cake & Black Forest cake which were completely tasteless & we ended up leaving most of it, really disappointing as they looked nice. I’m not sure how it’s possible to produce cakes that taste of nothing but sugar even the mass produced cakes you get in the supermarket have more flavour than the ones we had today. Will definitely give the cafe another try but minus the cake!

This used to be a great place to eat out.... it has gone downhill so fast..waited 25 minutes for a simple coffee !!! Thought I would give it another try and have a breakfast roll and coffee.... ordered egg roll and sausage roll, 2 coffees.... unbelievably they had no eggs !!! Sausages were stone cold. Never go back

Nice place great setting. However we were at the centre table, which is too close to others to maintain adequate distance. People walking past almost had to squeeze past. Suggest removal of the centre table.

Delighted to find that the Cafe has situated itself in the garden with well spaced tables etc and enjoyed the food. However I am concerned at the apparent 'covid-light' approach. I did not see any tables being cleaned between customers while I was there nor any hand sanitiser or wipes for customers so that they could do this themselves. Another potential cross-contamination point were the waste bins with heavy lids needing removal by hand. I suggest you take your own wipes and hand gel if you want to feel safer than I did there today with two grandchildren.

I popped into Cadell’s Cafe whilst passing through Cockenzie walking the John Muir Way. I think I came in the back door as it appeared to be a bit of a maze of corridors before I eventually found the cafe. On arrival the cafe was busy but I managed to find a free table and made my order for a coffee and an empire biscuits. The cafe appears to be split into two rooms, one with views over the garden. This was the popular room with all tables taken. I sat in the smaller room as you enter the cafe. The staff were friendly and efficient and my visit was enjoyable after my long walk.

The Crown and Kitchen in East Linton had good trip advisor reviews, so we decided to stay for 1 night on our journey to eastern Scotland. Although there is no car park, there was plenty of on street unlimited parking near to the Inn. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were shown to our beautiful contemporary room by a very helpful member of staff. Rooms are next door to the bar area, and so quiet. There was a wide choice of dishes for dinner, including fish and vegetarian options. Breakfast was very good. There were fresh berries and yoghurt and a range of cereals, as well as cooked options. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the whole place was well cared for, light and welcoming. We will stay again when we are in the area, and can recommend it without hesitation.

We visited Lucas on Sun 25 Aug and 30 Aug frequently attend here on both occasions I had to return my main course as they were both barely warm 1 was pizza the other mushroom pasta the waitress was apologetic and said this would get heated up in the microwave. Another couple who were sitting at the next table had to wait an eternity for their meals we had our main course & our dessert before the couples meal arrived as they had already asked waitress where it was and was told kitchen was busy the couple had been more than patient. I am unsure if the chef has been changed the food seems to be not to the usual standard. Not once has the waitresses when having your meal if everything is ok! This should come as standard.. very disappointed. Therefore after another disappointing visit today it will be sone considerable tine or not at all when we will be back.
