We have had some great afternoons at Cactus Rays over the summer months and more recently during the festive season and we can recommend this bar as an excellent place for great local music and and a cracking atmosphere

Exclent coffee house with very warm atmosphere. Wellcoming staf and managrment. Nothing to much trouble. Music nights are also excelent. A lot of work has been put into this establishment and it shows. Have watched this venue grow over the years to what is now a central part of the Burscough community.

I don't usually write reviews, but when someone is going above and beyond for the local community, then I feel I have too. Catus rays is a warm, welcoming local bar. The atmosphere is fantastic and the live music is must listen too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area, give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Oh and the beer is the best in Burscough!!

I’ve been a regular visitor of the bar over the past 24 months however I’ve decided to avoid the place completely now. This really is a shame too because I’ve always found the owners to be really nice and enjoyed the live music staged there. The issue is that the owners, despite being nice, seem to harbour some real a-holes at the expense of decent folk. I watched on one night some roided up Michelin man with a pony tail kicking off with multiple people (from separate groups), whilst it was obvious he was the problem, the owners seemed to be friendly, yet frightened of him and ejected the people he had issues with. This has followed recently with some young lady who was claiming to be a relative of the owners rudely tell a group of visitors (who complained that their table was being kicked over by a drunk girl) that if they didn’t shut up then they should just get the f’out the bar and not come back. I was quite surprised by this and even more shocked when she told one of the women in the group to f’off back to Ireland. The owners really need to get a grip of the people that frequent the bar and treat the place as ‘theirs’. As I say the owners are lovey, but they need to break this click that exists in there. Perhaps if this happens then maybe the police wouldn’t have to keep ‘calling in’ and maybe more locals would visit. Not sure if the ‘relative’ really is a relative, or works there, but if she does then maybe send her on some customer services training as she shouldn’t be telling folk who have done nothing wrong to f’off out the bar. I am Irish myself, and hearing her tell someone to f’ off back to Ireland was the last straw for me, hence the decision not to come back and also to write this. I hope the business sorts this issue out as it is a great little venue.
