I used to come to this same spot to enjoy a good coffee and fresh made muffins - the service was always friendly with a smile. What happened to the prior owners? This new Cacao and their staff are downright rude.. the women who served us was moody and made no attempt to make us feel valued. The coffee was cold and the cake stale… pls don’t waste your time or money here as there are plenty of other independent coffee outlets in the town!

Decent choice of paninis. Looked really nice. Decent service by the staff. Have to say ( reading other reviews) they were attentive and polite and brought our food and drinks to our table. Smiles and a chat. However….. not the staffs problem but the most tasteless food we’ve had in a long time. It was eating for the sake of it. Absolutely no point. Coffee was ok. Won’t be returning because of food. Staff decent.

I like going here as I love the hot chocolate and often go with my parents and also meet friends. However recently, on every visit the same one women is SO RUDE. She has been rude to my friend on multiple occasions, being rude about where she has chosen to sit, and also when she was sat waiting for me to arrive because she hadn’t ordered anything prior to seating. Last week I went and asked for hot water to heat milk for my twin babies. Baring in mind this was a Monday, mid morning and there was about 4 tables in use. The women went on a rampage, refusing me hot water saying they don’t have the spare mugs, that she couldn’t do it, that they had a bowl once but it was stolen. I would have had the water in anything just to be able to feed my babies, a take out cup or even my dirty mug!!! But in the end we had to head home and I had to listen to 2 screaming babies all the way home because they were hungry!!! It is such a shame as like I said, I like the food/drink here but the customer service is disgusting!!!

I am currently on maternity leave and was meeting up with a colleague, who has also just had a baby. I arrived at the coffee shop with my baby, several tables were free, and my friend was running 10 minutes late. I was approached by a member of staff abruptly who told me that if other paying customers arrive, then I would have to vacate the table. This coffee shop had been recommended and we were planning to have lunch and catch up with each other. I advised the member of staff of this fact. In response she repeated that paying guests might need the table so I would be moved. My friend arrived 10 minutes later with her baby, and upon arrival that member of staff walked around and near to us and was glaring. She made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome, that we chose to leave and enjoyed paying for lovely food and a nice welcome at the nearby Caffe Nero! Do not visit Cacao Coffee and Chocolate in Solihull, the bad reviews ARE GENUINE! They do not know how to treat customers.

Popped in today for coffee and a pastry, observed the kindness and courtesy of the staff towards elderly customers and was also served politely and with a smile. Croissant was fresh and warmed, coffee was great.

My wife went today and got absolutely conned, we live 25 minutes away and when we got home and opened the box there was the smallest piece of cake in the world. We paid £5 for this, it’s disgusting, the worse thing about it we could not even contact them to complain, they have no phone number or email. We won’t be going there again, total rip off.
