Caballero Lounge in Leeds

Loved this place when it first opened but the last couple of times, the food has been disappointing!! Had we not been with friends this evening, I would have set my flatbread back!! It was so hard it was inedible! So sad to say it will be a long time before I return!

Nice atmosphere, slower service than some places (waiting at the bar to order drink) but friendly staff made up for it. Nice coffee, delicious pink lemonade and dog friendly! Great place to meet a friend for a drink.

Ate here with some friends, food is okay not amazing but was okay. Had to order using the app as opposed to speaking to someone. App wasn't very helpful and crashed a few times. Food all came out at different times some people had finished when others hadn't recieved their food. Wasn't busy and we all ordered at the same time. Kids food came out on boiling hot plates. Instead of appolagising maybe realize the plate is too hot and swap to a fresh plate as I had to as kids birth their hands on the plate.

Disappointed with breakfast for 2. None of the items were hot. A couple lukewarm and the rest cold! Bacon overcooked and egg bordering on “snotty”. Coffee was ok though. If anyone had bothered to check we could have told them but seemed short staffed. So just left a bit disappointed. A fan of the Loungers concept and it growth but not this time.

Great place for friends meet up or families. Very relaxed atmosphere. Good choice of food which was all very nice. And the Frose is lovely. A great summer frozen cocktail.

We used to go about twice a week but we Stopped Going because Glasses are always dirty, We used to go a lot for Breakfast but plates were cold when I asked why when you eat on a evening plates are always warm I was told by the server that they heat up as the day goes on.

Had a few things sold out at the bar which was a shame but the food was lovely and quick service

Love coming here, whether for breakfast, lunch dinner or just a few drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. I enjoy multiple things on the menu, but the tapas is worth coming back to and trying numerous things from it's list.

I came here on a whim, on my own, after doing some after work shopping last Monday. I discovered 'Cheeky Monday' where you can decide between a free pudding or free glass of wine, with any purchase of a main meal or burger meal. I ordered the 'Goan Cauliflower Curry' and 'Vanilla & White Chocolate Cheesecake'. Both were absolutely delicious and I couldn't fault anything. From placing my order to receiving my main, it took 11 minutes.... can't ask for much better service than that. Will happily come back here again :)

No garnish with sandwiches. Ordered coffee on app 10 minutes later, had to ask staff for them, and it was not busy. Only cleared table when coffees came.

I love this place the menu is great and they have a really big selection of gluten free foods. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is amazing . Just a few criticisms, the service at the bar is a bit slow as the only 1 bar staff that was on at the time was trying to serve queuing customers plus prepare drinks for orders placed at the table.. The staff would drop food off food ay your table then walk away empty handed when it was obvious the table needed clearing. from previous customers, However it’s not put me off as it’s an amazing place that just needs a few tweets 👌.

A party or 6 called up for drinks and food. Most of the group order tapas on the 3 for £14.65 each and a burger and all was of excellent quality and more than enough at excellent value. Whole bill for 6 was £93.40 for food and £23 for a bottle of red less for a bottle of white and others ordered the two for 1 cocktails which offered a good range for £12 for two. All in all a lovely night and would deffo go back

Lovely ambience and food in Caballero.

Been here twice and had good experiences, the setting is quite cool, the food is tasty and very reasonable and the atmosphere is mostly good (a bit loud and shouty at times). The service experience is a bit odd (because there basically isn't one: you're told to choose a table, order on the app and they give you the food and don't come back to check). It's convenient and definitely lives up to the standards of the other loungers/cost club venues we've been to - look forward to the York one opening!

Went yesterday 24th February. Food ( main meal) was delish. I ordered cheese cake for desert which was the smallest piece … ever, still delish. Think the only let down was the service… not enough staff all the staff were lovely they just need a few more

Alydia served us on Wednesday 21st Feb at Caballero Lounge, Leeds. She was really pleasant and attentive. Lovely food and beautiful restaurant.

Fantastic service by the lovely Alidia who took care of our table all evening (21.02.2024).Professional and courteous manner. A breath of fresh air which you dont often get to see so was lovely. A credit to your restaurant.

Visited for dinner with family, although the food was great, the staff allowed a large family to essentially take over the restaurant. A child repeatedly kicked my sister in law, the parent’s unfortunately were not watching their numerous children. After confronting the family, nothing was done. They were running around, in and out of the bathroom, disturbing multiple other people having dinner. I understand accommodating to large families, however the staff’s incompetence was proved when they did not deal with the situation. This is a real shame as this was our first time trying the place, we will not be returning due to the staffs negligence of the situation.

A nice little spot for some lunch and, a great choice of food. Had the cheeseburger and fries I can definitely recommend.

Went here for breakfast. I would describe it as an upmarket Wetherspoons. This is not meant in a derogatory sense. Wetherspoons provides value for money food and drink. The same applies here but with an enlarged menu that includes things like avocado on toast....just don't expect haute cuisine! The service was pleasant and efficient. Its location, close to the M1 A1 link motorway makes it a convenient stopping alternative to the nearest services. The place seemed popular with mother's with young children.

Went for the tapas deal on Tuesday's. Really good food and the staff are great 👍 Well done team 👏

As a coeliac they offered a full menu of food I coukd eat, as well as doing the order at the bar, and specifically asked if I had a food intolerance. The music was varied, there's was families in there and people on lunch break, the vibe was chill and relax

Fabulous meal, friendly service. Having two vegans and one GF in the family was no problem because of the extensive menus for both. Will definitely be back!

I have been here a good few times in recent months and have been very satisfied with my visit each time And the staff have been great! The staff were also good with my children when they visited and the prompt turn-around of their food had been appreciated indeed. If I had to be picky I would say the burger was seemingly fuller and nicer (something with pulled meat and jalepino) the first ever visit, ie one of my best in years, then hasn’t quite managed it since, but I’ll still give you the five as I have enjoyed my visits!!!! The bar ordering can feel a bit awkward when standing waiting but this is is minor. Keep it up 👍

Decent food, always manage to get a table and service is quick and easy. Some dishes are a bit overpriced for the portion size, such as the halloumi.

All perfect. One minus is that you have to go and order yourself is not table service. When I am with little baby and is busy is hard to order. Well just for me, is my opinion

Nice place but at this time of year they clearly can't handle the amount of customers as service was zero and they couldn't even be bothered to get us a highchair. We ended up having to search the whole restaurant for one oursekf to find most of them had straps or harnesses missing which is unacceptable really for a family restaurant they supposedly pride themselves on.

Absolutely fantastic service. The food was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. Thank you for taking our order early. We sat down, and the food turned up not long after the drinks. It was flawless service.

Emmie the assistant manager is wonderful, never stops smiling and is so sweet and attentive. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gluten free menu. Stunning food and a fantastic range of desserts which you don't often see for gluten free anywhere. Will definitely be back

Quickly became my favourite spot for coffee or a cheeky lunch. Excellent atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food, what's not to love?

Staff were lovely, and the restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere but the food was something you’d expect in Wetherspoons but double the price. Boyfriend had a lamb curry that barely had three mouthfuls of actual curry it was all rice and looked like a microwave meal (I’ve actually had better tesco finest microwave curries), and then I had the steak frites which was £20 and again it was on par with a weatherspoons steak except you can get a steak+drink for £9 in spoons. I never leave reviews but felt compelled to after our disappointing meal last night.

Me and my boyfriend went as a birthday dinner/lunch for me and it was my first time going. Wasn't disappointed at all, the food was amazing and the service was brilliant. We were seated by Chloe, she was so sweet and welcoming she was honestly so amazing and helpful. I will be going back again. :) Would also recommend to go here if you have kids, are vegetarian or gluten free as they have separate menus for each which is so great because I know the struggle of having majority items where you can't eat off the menu because your gluten free due to my mum so how they have a selected menu just for them is so amazing. Will be recommending this to my friends and family. Can't wait to come back!

A place where you can get breakfast very early.

2nd visit for Breakfast, the first visit I really did not enjoy the food and unfortunately after trying again felt the same. Food is very much like a canteen! The Breakfast was just not great at all. Really disappointing because the staff are great and it's a fantastic venue. Hate to do poor reviews

Terrible food! Terrible menu choice! Sat with our winter coats on to eat as was freezing cold inside! The login to connect to wifi - the question of gender = the options to answer says it all ! Would not recommend this place and will not be back 👍🏼

Had to ask for table to be cleared, also had to wipe down dirty table with cloth that was left on the bar. Waited in a queue to be served while bar staff stacked dishes. Hot drinks came quickly but tea was served in a smelly cup which had to be changed, 35 minutes wait before food was delivered, one meal hot, one meal cold. Do not generally complain but this was a disastrous visit. Will not return.

Went here other week to try it out and see what it was like. Won't be going again. Myself and Bfriend both had sandwiches. The price of both was expences for what you got. Mine was £7 and his £9. All we got for those prices was the sanswiches no side salad or chips. Not worth the money.

Beautiful restaurant. Quirky decor, warm cozy but almost a little too relaxed if that's possible. Has a little of a pub ambience aswell. Food excellent. Quality superb, appearance exceptional, prices acceptable. Staff were sound. Didn't see them much if I'm being honest, we didn't realise the ordering system and weren't made aware when we entered but worked it out soon enough. Overall a decent spot. Definitely give it a go if you're in the area.

I'm soo coming back!! Food was amazing,tasty and loved every bite of it. Service was top notch as well and they were very patient as my friend and I could not decide on what we wanted and kept on asking a million questions. I'm a happy customer.

This is the fifth time we've visited Caballero Lounge, the first time was just for a hot chocolate but the other occasions were to eat. We can honestly say we have never ever had a bad meal yet. We're slowly working our way through the entire menu and so far have not been disappointed. The food is absolutely gorgeous, tasty, plentiful, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The restaurant itself has a really friendly vibe, the staff are great and are happy to assist wherever they can. The place is always busy which says a lot about the restaurant but the place seems to cope with the demand. We were even apologised to for the wait which I was surprised about because I didn't think we'd been waiting long at all, 10-15 minutes from ordering is not a wait in my eyes especially if we've got our drinks already. Anyway, a fantastic place and can highly recommend. Just hope it stays for a long long time as we'll be gutted if it disappears after a year!

The ideal place if you want to wait almost 45 minutes for vastly overpriced food that comes out almost cold, with bacon so overcooked that my dog thought twice about eating. To complete the experience, when a staff member asked if all was OK, both my wife and I shook our heads as we had just put food in our mouths, and instead of waiting, the staff member just walked off. Definitely won't be back, and my advice to anyone else is save £50 and get hot food quickly from McDonald's.

I'm here now, just waited 10 minutes to get served a drink at the bar, which wouldn't be a problem except there were 2 staff members behind the bar putting cups and glasses away!! 3 or 4 people in the queue. About 4/5 trays of crockery put away, shouldn't customer be priority work not an interruption to work??

A lunchtime family get together. Great food, tapas, chilli and burger. Excellent staff - friendly, efficient and engaging. We were served by Tahlia who was excellent. Great atmosphere. Lively. Good decor. Good value and great to see that you can get breakfast also. Will be back.

This is very nearly a really good place to eat and drink. Food good, prompt, drinks as you would expect, menu options very good. Decor quirky and bordering overdone but that is just the style. Family and dog friendly which is a plus for us but appreciate it might not be for all. The gripe with the lounge is the bar and the bar service. Often you stand unacknowledged whilst waiting to place an order and staff don't see which customers to serve in which order. They are intrusive noisy in their prep of drinks...you can use a pad or a mat for tapping the milk it doesn't have to sound like hammering nails into the bar. Empty glass bottles are thrown into the bottle bin. On a busy night with music and hassle and bustle it might not matter but if it's quiet, place the bottles in the bin. It takes you out of your experience hearing bottles smashed behind you at the bar...just no need. One other thing, the bar needs to be spotless. Using so much fruit, and syrups it is prone to baffles. Its not a disappointing place to eat or drink, far from it but a few improvements and it would be 4 stars easily

Love this place! It's the kind of place I could nip in wearing my gym gear after the gym for a coffee or could go in dressed up for cocktails. It's got a really cosy feel about it. Staff are all really friendly and look like they actually enjoy their jobs. Georgia in particular was great last time we were in! The food and drink is also great!

2nd visit - arrived around 5pm on a Thursday.. There was very few people in but tables were left uncleared and ours wasn’t wiped down so had to ask for it to be. A girl was going round filling salt & paper oblivious to the obvious lack of clearing up. Girl who served us was good though. I often find that when it’s not busy in restaurants, staff are quite lax and it’s only when it gets busy that they are on point and this seemed to be the case here. Anyhow, food was good & so were drinks…wasn’t sure if chicken flatbread was supposed to be hot or cold - the chicken was warm and so was the bread , the salsa etc were cold - hopefully that’s how it was meant to be ? Enjoyed it and my hubby enjoyed the tapas.cheers

Sadly service was terrible after ordering food and drinks after 1 hour still not had food even though tables were served who came in after us were served and left. I spoke to assistant manager who couldn't even apologise just said won't be long. It was obvious we had been forgotten and these things happen. If she had said I'm sorry your order has been overlooked I would have accepted it but nothing. I had to go back to her again and explained it wasn't good enough we had seats booked in cinema. Her response was all tables had prebooked their food, highly unlikely I think. Finally a nice young man came over and apologised and said food wouldn't be long. Food was however very nice when it did eventually arrive and three young men in total apologised and brought drinks on the house and gave some discount vouchers. What a shame we had been taken there as a treat by our family so I felt sorry for them. It could have been dealt with so much better.

Nice breakfast brunch with quality ingredients. However the fried egg is served on top of the toast - which led to soggy toast! Please serve toast on the side or offer ‘egg on toast’ as an option.

Lovely food, very fresh and served quickly. I love the large selection of non alcoholic drinks on the menu.

Have been looking forward to coming here for a while, so Saturday night we decided to go, got there and OMG, the place was an absolute tip, seriously looked like a bomb had hit it both inside and out, every table was a mess, I even started cleaning a table outside to sit at but then realised this isn’t what I signed up for when going for dinner! If the DA is such a mess I hate to think what the kitchen was like, we ran away never to return again. I did tell the lady at the door we were leaving and why and she thought it was pretty funny as I saw her laughing as we left.

Love this place, lovely well prepared food, the staff , waiters and chefs are really good. Highly recommended!

The food here was amazing. We went for the tapas and a couple of cocktails. I found the cocktails not quite to my taste, but the bar staff were more than happy to make me something 'off menu' and didn't charge me a scandalous price like some establishments do. I would highly recommend Caballero Lounge and will be going here again.

The food was great and so was the service. A couple sat on the table next to us broke out into an argument before storming out of the restaurant. The staff were nice enough to offer us the desserts they ordered in way of apology. Lovely! Lots of variety in food here too so it’s suitable for literally anyone, Vegan, gluten/lactose intolerant etc. I’ll definitely be back.

This was the first time my husband and I have eaten here and we will be back again soon. The food and service was excellent , we also felt it was good value for money we had tapas , dessert and drinks, plus there was a really good atmosphere, suitable for all ages .

Not into medium cooked burgers as it runs the risk of making you ill. This shouldn't be a thing unless you're Ramsay and making burgers from certified cuts of meat. Very poor and slow service at the bar. This place should be table service really, it's just a bit meh on all fronts. Ok food, lack luster servers. The color scheme resonates with an almost soothing allure, effortlessly paired with the charmingly ornate hanging light shades. This ambiance is further complemented by the rhythmic hum of background music that gently invites you into a state of relaxation. Now, coming to the core purpose of a restaurant - the food. The coffee and pancakes with mascarpone are a hit-and-miss. The pancakes, albeit slightly chewy, offered a pleasingly sweet taste that I enjoyed. However, they came in a bit colder than preferred, causing the mascarpone to melt completely. My guess is they languished for a good five minutes on the counter before they found their way to my table - an oversight that needs to be addressed. The service is where things take an unconventional twist. Imagine my surprise when my breakfast was delivered by a staff member sporting gym leggings, which is quite an unusual sight in a restaurant-lounge setting. Her demeanor was friendly and approachable, but her attire did make it challenging to distinguish staff from fellow patrons. While a relaxed vibe is appreciated, a bit more clarity in staff attire would certainly contribute to a more seamless experience. Despite these oddities, I find myself captivated by Caballero's overall charm. It exudes a laid-back vibe that is hard not to love. Will I be back? Absolutely, as long as they promise hot pancakes next time. If you're looking for a slightly eccentric but enjoyable breakfast experience, Caballero could be your spot. Just don't be too surprised if your waitress could be mistaken for a fellow diner.

My husband and I visited the Caballero Lounge at The Springs for dinner. We opted for the tapas each (3 dishes for £12) it was very nice and quite a few different varieties to choose from. The menu had plenty of choices and so did the drinks. There was also a quiz which we could have taken part in, however we didn’t on this occasion. We will definitely be back for more food, this is a great addition to The Springs retail complex.

Called here while trying to kill some time and we are so glad we did. Food was fantastic, the wife had tapas (cheddar and sweetcorn fritters, hummus and quesadillas) and I had the chicken souvlaki. Both dishes were great and just the right amount. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back here again

Father’s day at caballero .. Among arriving i was greeted by a smiley face chappy who was more than happy to help find me a seat. It was pretty packed out and i could tell all the staff were working hard. He promptly cleared a table for me and my family to sit at. Now with the ordering you have two options QR code or at the bar. I’m so glad i opted for the bar service as the cheery girls behind it really put a smile on my face. I was served my a dark haired girl in a striped shirt (she’s a real credit to your team) , great with my kids and still cracking jokes even with all the pressure she was under . We was told the wait was around an hour which we was hesitant about but once we took a sip of our gorgeous elderflower coolers we were more than happy to sit and enjoy the good vibes caballero has to offer. Considered these workers were rushed off their feet they did an absolutely amazing job and you should all be very proud of yourself. The food came in about 45 mins , again considering this was father’s day and every table was full , it wasn’t too shabby . The food was amazing , well worth the wait. Overall a great experience just wish other customers were as considering and understanding as me. See you soon caballero :)

Absolutely appalling service today, told 30min wait for food. Thought that’s not too bad so placed order! Waited over an hour, and then told wait was an hour and half. Totally ruined all plans for the day.
