1st time visit very disappointed. Went in for breakfast. Coffee cappuccino was cold butter was so hard difficult to spread.

We loved this place and had made it a Christmas tradition to come and eat the week before Christmas and then go out into town and do something festive. However the last few times we have been the service has been terrible and last year even though we pre booked our table we were squeezed into a table that was not suitable and it was a problem when we asked to move. Regardless of being crammed into another unsuitable table, we stayed - but the service wasn’t great - I think the problem is that they were catering to more covers than they could handle. We also weren’t as impressed with the food, my dish wasn’t up to their usual standard. I came back recently with my mum for lunch but our sandwiches were so dry. Would hsve been fine if we could get any sauce on the table but was so difficult to get served & when passing on our comments don’t think they were really taken on board. Unfortunately will be going somewhere else this year Posted photo comparisons of what the steak usually looks like vs that night, it’s not a massive difference but the little things that change your experience. The sauce had a skin on it too, was completely bland

Fuimos a cenar el domingo. Tres de nosotros comimos carne asada, dos cordero asado y uno milanesa de pollo. Todas las comidas estaban deliciosas. La carne asada era solomillo de ternera y tan tierna. El cordero asado eran medallones tiernos. Los budines de Yorkshire eran grandes e increíbles. Las porciones eran generosas. ¡Uno de los mejores asados que hemos tenido! Personal muy atento. Tuvimos una encantadora comida familiar en un ambiente relajante. Sin duda volveré!

Decidió ir a Cava para el desayuno / brunch basado en la recomendación de un amigo. La decoración y el ambiente eran excelentes y el personal atento. Pedimos un desayuno regular y desayuno vegetariano. Ambos llegaron a los 10 minutos , los huevos revueltos estaban calientes pero lamentablemente el resto estaba tibio, y las setas estaban frías. Se lo señalamos a la camarera que se ofreció a quitar la comida y reemplazarla, pero debido a la falta de tiempo rechazamos la oferta. Platos fríos y esperar a que los huevos se cocinaran probablemente fueron la causa. Fue una pena ya que nuestras primeras impresiones fueron muy favorables. No estoy seguro de si volveríamos, podría darles otra oportunidad.

Really attentive and friendly staff despite it being an absolutely full Saturday Night. Big portions with the highlight the fish options, really excellent fresh quality white fish on the menu and used in my son's battered fish fingers, which were made to accommodate his allergies

Went there for breakfast toady. Got some French toast with some extras an I have to admit it was amazing. My girlfriend got the steak sandwich which she loved. I'm a nightmare in most restaurants. Always find something to complain about, but not today. Definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu. Staff were very good as well. Clean place with chilled atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I was really disappointed by Ca Va. I ordered smashed avocado with poached eggs on toast - a pretty straightforward dish. Instead of fresh 'crushed avocado' as was described on the menu, I was served an ultra-processed avocado supermarket spread out of a tube. The 'sourdough' bread was also quite artificial tasting and definitely not made fresh. I suspect the eggs were pre-poached then warmed up too as they were a little overcooked. I get that this may save on costs + prep time but you can't expect people to come back if you trick them into eating ultra-processed garbage. There's a LIDL across the road if I fancy some Old El Paso. I'm sure that there are talented chefs in that kitchen capable of making an excellent version of this dish. So please reconsider the approach and start making everything fresh. Alternatively, reduce the size of the menu and remove this dish if you don't have the capacity to make it from scratch. I suspect that it might be too big a menu to be doing all of it to a high standard. Hope you can take this feedback on board and I wish you the best of luck.

Been a couple of times, and we have never been disappointed. Food is served with a smile. I'm sure it's a very popular place but as we are not from the area we don't get the chance to frequent as much as we would like to. It's definitely worth a visit.

Had dinner at Ca Va last night, the food/service was excellent. Our waitress Madeline was fantastic. Would definitely go back.

Thank you for squeezing us in for late dinner last night! We had a brilliant time, getting drinks at the bar while you organised a table, and then enjoying terrific food together. The chicken supreme was absolutely exceptional and the caramel apple pie with ice cream from Valentino’s was a big hit. It’s great to see someone who has finally made that site work really well! The friendly, lively and good humoured atmosphere was great and everyone, whether waiting table, front of house or staffing the bar was welcoming and did a brilliant job. Thanks again! 😊

Had seen ad for live music in Dec and booked a table to give hubby and I something to look forward to as we get through the latter stages of festive hosting. Danny Gallagher entertained diners with a choice of easy listening and memorable hits, defo a winner with folks, singing and dancing along on a mid January Sunday night. Dined prior to live music, food was delicious and service was prompt and very amiable. Special of seafood linguine tantalised my taste buds and beef and merlot pie for hubby, saw both clear our plates. Indulged with chicken satay starter and cheeseboard with recommendation for very luscious rioja to complement. This was indeed a memorable occasion. Very much looking forward to our next visit 10/10

First time in Cava and it was great. Nice place, lovely food great service from our waitress on her first night very reasonable prices and loved the cocktails will definitely go back again.

Just deleted positive review of 5 months ago. Today's experience was dreadful. I'd booked for 6 so they knew we were coming! 50 minutes to wait for food is totally unacceptable. Staff on this occasion appeared indifferent. Food was fine when it eventually came but by that time we were all completely hacked off by the wait. Ca Va needs to get it's act together re service which today was nothing short of appalling.

Overall the food was good rather than amazing, although some bits were overcooked. It's not particularly French for most of the menu but if you like Moules followed by Steak Frites you'll be fine.

Great food, friendly efficient service and reasonable prices. Dogs are allowed outside where there is an awning overhead and heaters under the table.

After consuming more than half of this cake the server returned to our table to inform me that the lady who bakes the cakes had phoned and stated they add hazelnut paste. I’m sure you can imagine the total panic this caused me. Thankfully for the time being I am okay, however someone with a more severe nut allergy could have seriously fallen ill. To say I am shocked and appalled by the lack of care given by staff would be the understatement of the year. This silly mistake could very possibly cost someone their life.

Gorgeous exterior , outside seating area, inside French style , spacious , well positioned seating for privacy. Five ladies xmas night out . Service top class, efficient young waiter boy. Management hands on and friendly. Must say food was amazing , best I have had in while. Plenty options for all . Fresh , tasty and good portions. Food came promptly with excellent deliverance. Highly recommend.

I had an acceptable roast beef special. however my wife was very disappointed in her Caesar Salad. Initially i came with chicken on top, which she hadn't ordered. Her replacement consisted of a plate of lettuce covered in sauce and two halves of a boiled egg and a sprinkling of parmesan. No sign of anchovies. For this we paid £13.95. Extremely disappointing!!

Nice relaxed atmosphere here mid week. The place is looking very festive and decked with all Christmas lights. The food was excellent as always, and the staff were lovely, they always are. Can't complain at all, better than your wee local

Let me say the staff are fantastic. Friendly, efficient and helpful. Sadly, the food was poor. The chicken satay starter was tepid. The cauliflower coujons were not fully cooked. As for the main, the beef burger was overcooked and dry and the chicken burger, was agin tepid. I expect the chef was under pressure, but the food was rushed out too quickly. Put me off eating there again.

It was absolutely packed. The Cajun chicken was tough but the cheesecake was delicious.

My first time at CAVA and it won’t be my last. We were out for an early dinner, over the September weekend. From start to finish it was excellent. Great welcome, drinks orders taken straight away. We asked for a break between courses this was not a problem. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was just delicious, piping hot and the white wine very chilled. Looking forward to my next visit. Can’t rate Ca Va high enough.

Having read poor reviews about this restaurant I nearly cancelled . I’m very glad I didn’t. All the staff were warm and welcoming and the food was delicious.

Lovely food and drink and excellent service. What morecould you ask for?

2nd visit for food and a really poor experience. 3 of us had the Steak Frites which arrived cold. When we told the waiter he grudgingly took out steaks away (leaving our sauces). When he returned with our steaks they obviously had been reheated as the pink meat we had all ordered were now overcooked. Not sure that we would return as so overpriced for what we received and so many good restaurants in the area.

Dinned with 5 friends all absolutely delighted with our meals and service .

Ordered fish and chips and steak pie took a wee while to arrive steak pie was ok but I had to return my fish and chips as it looked as if the batter had been put into too hot oil and it had all puffed up so fish a bit dried out so advised I could not eat it so was asked if I wanted it with no batter but that to me forfeits the idea of fish and chips so decided to have mac and cheese after all its a simple meal what could go wrong or so I thought it was nice tasted but the cheese sauce was so runny it spoiled the taste of it . Also by the time it came my husband had finished his.

An absolutely horrible place to be. Ordered soup of the house and French onion soup. Waited for 1 hour all together, nothing ever came. While we waited we asked for hot water to warm up our baby’s milk. Never came until we went up to the bartender. 50 mins in we told them we’re just gonna pay for the soda we ordered and go they said no but the soup is ready in a couple of minutes. We asked how many minutes, said 4 minutes. So we put on a timer. While 4 minutes ran out the manager started ask the kitchen to prepare some soup. Laughable. Awful place to waste time on.

A favourite place to eat! It's just all fabulous....the food is the best have tasted in a long time, and we have been several times...great music and good atmosphere....feel always made welcome! And very relaxed here....well done guys!!! Xxx

Mr partner son and I went on a Sunday evening in August. It was busy with the outside seating area full. We were seated quickly, I had booked in advance. Drinks order taken and food order taken when the drinks were swiftly served. We ordered a steak each and a macaroni to share. The steak was delicious, the mushrooms and tomatoes tasty, but the peppercorn sauce and the tasty chips were the star of the meal. The steak was tender and melted in the mouth, we all had pink steak. However a dish that leaves my son talking about them after the meal is over and we are on our way home make the chips stand out. The macaroni cheese was lava hot and incredibly cheesy The layers of the different types of cheese let the taste of the crust filter through and was a really tasty dish as a side. It was very cheesy, I'm not sure if I would finish it as a main. We did have clean plates all round and agreed to go back for dessert another night. There was a party going on at the door as we were leaving, however it wasn't too intrusive and we had a lovely dining experience. Looking forward to going back .

Good on first visit. 2nd visit disappointing , poor quality of food ( overcooked), underwhelming cocktails mainly ice, poor communication of serving staff ,asked if we wanted another round of drinks, so ordered then were told by another member if staff they needed the table back in 5 minutes. Come on not the way to treat customers who had spent a good amount of money at the meal . Unfortunately we won't be returning which is a shame.

First time dining in Ça Va, food was lovely, tasty and very well presented. We had bruschetta, steak friters and chicken stroganoff. Very happy about the gluten free and vegan choices offered. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. I am only giving 3 stars for service because our server didn't write the order down and missed my partner's gluten free request and completely forgot about my drink order. Not a very big deal for us because he's not celiac (just mildly intolerant) but could have been bad for a coeliac person. Other than that our server was very nice and friendly, we'll definitely be back!

Ordered 2 breakfast and 2 veg breakfast...2 breakfast, bacon cold, mushrooms were like rubber, potatoes scone overcooked so much so that could not chew and fried eggs cold, 2 veg breakfast and 1 breakfast had poached eggs, all were hard centre's, should have called them boiled eggs...very dissapointed. If were not hungry would have sent them back......not happy

I'm a regular visitor to the area and they went out their way to source and cook me something not on the current menu, but which I had previously from their menu. Food and service excellent.

My first time here. We just stopped for a quick coffee but will have to try it as a night out. A lovely large bar /lounge, nice music and polite helpful staff would help make this a great night out.

We were in for breakfast around 10.30 a.m., and it was quiet. Took 15 minutes to get a drink, and our food ordered...then we waited another 10 mins for our drinks to arrive. Starts to get busy and more staff arrive then I notice people who arrived after us were served their food so I mentioned this to the waitress who tells me that it depends what you order🤔 so someone who arrives approx 30 minutes after me and orders a couple of poached egg on toast will get served before me who ordered pancakes and a breakfast because the kitchen finds poached eggs easier. Just tell me you forgot to pick up our breakfast cause it was barely warm when it arrived.

Fantastic French cuisine and cocktails at a warm and local restaurant 🥰 🇫🇷 Our first time here and it won’t be our last time especially since their French Onion soup is as delicious as I’ve tasted outside of Paris 😋 Superb food, warm service and great selection of cocktails too 🤩

Overpriced and bland food . The waiter service was friendly but service very slow . There is far tastier food served at other restaurants in the same area.

Advertises dishes as gluten free when they're not. Anything fried, for example, is fried in the same fryer as everything else, rendering the menu dangerous for people for suffer from coeliac disease, like me. I had given 2 stars originally but the food is decent, the staff were lovely, the interior is beautiful and they were quiet enough that they were able to provide me with a "properly" gluten free meal. I'd definitely recommend it to folk without any food intolerances but, had I not asked the questions I did, I would have become extremely unwell due to a misleading menu.

Was there on 5/4/23, service was average, food was piping hot. Prices were high. Atmosphere was ok, dont think I will be back though.

I'm so glad we came here with the kids. The menu is lovely, with some interesting dishes which are often hard to find when eating out with kids. We had the prawn tian, prawn tempura, and goats cheese starters. All delightful. The children chose kids' burgers, which were pretty big for kids, no complaints here. I had pork loin and cabbage with mash and gravy, so good, lovely real food. And husband had a steak pie with red wine sauce. Delicious and plenty of it. We didn't have desert as only vanilla ice cream ir a lolly for the kids, they fancied something else. The adult deserts were a little limited too. The wine was lovely too, and service was good and friendly. Will be back with friends instead of kids!

We visit here fairly often for family brunch. Food usually very nice with decent coffee. Often busy but they can usually find us a table.

Had a delicious meal here with friends and staff were lovely. The only fault was that the music on Friday nights, although was good, was far too loud. We couldn’t hear ourselves and so instead of ordering more drinks, we left and went somewhere else,...
