By The Bridge in West Dorset

By far the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. We visited on Wednesday evening after we’d had tea and they smelt so good we came back in the Thursday. Crispy chips and batter on the fish. I wasn’t very hungry so we ordered a large portion to share and it came with an extra piece of fish. We sat by the bridge and watched the tide come in whilst we ate. I don’t often this if fish and chips as a treat but this was superb, highly recommended.

Away for a weekend , pouring with rain non stop , we decided to stay in , so partner went and got fish chips from here . It was lovely , tasty fish and decent chips freshly fried absolutely delicious , just what we needed seaside Fish and chips even if we couldn’t sit outside and eat them .

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had! Asked for cod but pretty sure it wasn’t. The chips and fish had been cooked in stale oil which left a bad taste in my mouth. The fishermen here must be disgusted at the level of inadequacy to be able to do their produce justice.

Terrible. First resturant we tried in west bay on our day of arrival. I found a very large hair winding itself around my portion of chips. Food overcooked & dry.

Great chips,good drinks and friendly service.Ideally sited with a few tables by the river and the harbour.Open good hours and good quality.

Two young lads running the show this evening we’re amazing! It was really busy and they’d clearly had a full on shift yet they were polite, efficient and friendly. The food was well cooked, good portions & tasty. Couldn’t ask for more!

After checking Trip Advisor for the best fish and chips in West Bay I was not disappointed at choosing this one! Perfectly fried cod in beer batter freshly cooked for me with a decent sized portion of chips. Can’t wait until the next time!

Fish and chips was tasty! KIds enjoyed their ice creams too. Had a chat with the owners, couldn't ask for nicer people.

What a brilliant little find! We were on holiday, and discovered this amazing kiosk. Absolutely beautiful, proper, seaside doughnuts. Just like the ones my Nan used to buy me! It bought back wonderful memories of holidays gone by! We went back a second day, and had brilliant fish and chips! Such a light crispy batter, and proper chips, with an amazing harbour view!What more do you want from a night at the seaside!

A MUST VISIT! Great selection of food. I stayed local for two night and ate here both evenings! Fish and chips was fantastic! We sat near by watching over the harbour. As we where almost finished we saw the lady in the kiosk serving a volcano ice… well once I saw It just had to try and it did not disappoint!! I look forward to visiting again very soon!

If you come to west bay and you like donuts or ice cream then the volcano ice is an absolute must. Friendly couple who have taken over here are keeping up the tradition

Not sure how I rate a place when I visit a few consecutive days on the trot at times when TripAdvisor and their own Facebook page say they're open, and find them to be closed? Neighbouring businesses seem to give the impression that they open and close when the feel like it. Shame really.

Ordered from here a few times during our visit to West Bay, some days an ice cream and other days fish and chips! All lovely with good service too!

Best fish and chips in West Bay; crispy batter, freshest fish and lovely crisp chips. Succulent and tasty scampi. Followed by yummy Dorset apple cake and creamy ice cream. Polite and professional service.

We stopped here on a Tuesday evening in August. It was very busy but the staff were very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long. Our beer battered fish was lovely and crunchy, and the chips were deliciously crispy. We’d eat here again if we were in the area.

having had fish and chips twice this visit i must say they really were the best, the staff were very plesant happy and very polite covid rules adhered to very proffesional allways a queue at this hut

This kiosk does good chips, but my vegetarian option, and my wife's fish option were only warm. After a short walk home, they were barely edibile. There are much better places to eat in West Bay. Avoid please.

We used this takeaway most days during our stay, great fish and chips , lovely pasties and Dorset apple cake to die for! The staff are friendly and however busy they were we never had to wait long.

Stopped here on a Sunday evening. Small queue in front but soon got very busy. Friendly staff/owners. Prompt service and really good cod and chips + scampi and chips. Lots of sources/condiments included. Would return

Great tasting fish & chips, reasonably priced, quickly served despite being very busy and all the team wearing masks and you could see cleaning going on so felt like a safe place to eat in the current circumstances. So much better than our poor experience...

Great affordable chips for a perfect on the go snack. Nothing to complain about would reccommend for a light lunch!

Way back in 2008, I first visited West Bay and experienced the legend that is ‘Volcano Ice’ - a fresh, hot, sugary ring donut topped with whippy ice cream, sauce and sprinkles. Needless to say, it is amazing, but sadly, not something I’ve found anywhere...

Amazing cod and chips, super crispy batter. Cheesy chips are great too, with proper mature cheddar cheese. Definitely the best kiosk in the row. Friendly staff and good service.
