Good friendly service but food lacked flavour and the jerk gravy was too thick . The school cake was tasty . I wouldn’t go back .

£12 jerk chicken rice gravy, hardly any chicken or rice smothered in too much gravy, been coming here years lost its flavour too salty, gravy too thick killing the taste of anything else, not like it used to be, I know cost living etc but skimmed on chicken and rice just sloppy with thick gravy not hot either

Terrible food , fried chicken was cut off the bone then deep fried again after it already being cooked it was dry and hard , the gravy is awful , also coleslaw was off never again will we eat here!

Awful, instant (just add hot water) curry! Terrible rice and Peas. Dry overcooked chicken. This place needs an Authentic Jerk-Master-Cook! They have no idea what real jerk gravy is! I was served an awful BBQ sauce which is not Jerk gravy! The patties are bought in and factory made, not home-made. The food has minimal preparation or care taken to marinade and I don't think they've heard of ingredients such as Scallions, Scotch Bonnet, All spice or Thyme??? This is a poor attempt to cash in on the reggae reggae kids that have never tasted real food. Put some passion into the food you serve and try harder! MUCH HARDER!

Absolute disappointment. A stain on the name of Jamaican food. Unfortunately, for this business, I grew up in Jamaica, so I actually know how Jamaican food should taste, even for amateurs this was not it. The staff was impolite, not surprised, about the only thing Jamaican about this business. I had ackee and saltfish with fried dumplin. The ackee n salt fish was so salty, was impossible to eat. I know its in the name, but the salt is to be removed in the preparation. The dumplin had the consistency of a bread and full of sugar. Hypertension and diabetes waiting to happen. Also bought beef patty and stew chicken with rice and peas. I didn't dare try to eat the stew chicken and rice and pease, because it look so unpalatable . The chicken was a big chunk of chicken breast, covered with some off putting brown goo. the steam vegetables was translucent, just disgusting looking. The patty, was nothing to speak of. The crust was ok, but soggy and filling was very little beef and mostly filler, but i could tolerate it. I ate the patty as I was starving. Had diarrhoea in the morning. This was such a disappointing experience. Iy saddens me. Never again. Waste of £18. Do better.

Absolutely nothing like carribean food. No Taste at all. Tasted like chicken with thick bistro gravy. They couldn’t even be bothered to chop the chicken up in the chicken split. Avoid this place..

Farida and the Buzz Rocks team were incredible! They catered our youth & community charity event at last minute within our tight budget, threw in extras for free, increased portion sizes, advised on appropriate menu choices for the attendees, gave us all the serving materials, and delivered right on time. The food was very delicious as well! Oh and Farida was (who we mainly communicated/work with) was incredibly friendly, communicative and helpful. I'd highly recommend Buzz Rocks as a potential caterer/place to eat.

Let me start by saying we won't be going to Buzzrocks again. Now for the reason why. My wife and I aren't from Caribbean descent, we aren't youngsters and we don't have much knowledge about the food on offer - but we're keen to try. I'm not so mobile so my wife did the honours and joined the queue. My son recommended we try jerk wings so that is what she asked for, only to be met with an unsmiling face from the woman in front of her and a curt "there are none left". 1.15pm and sold out. No attempt to give my wife an alternative and just nothing by way of personality at all. My wife felt uncomfortable and so left. I can't leave a review about the food or value, only the "service". It will not happen again. Read my review about Jerk Junction, because that is where we went after Buzzrocks.

Food in terms of hygiene and cooking all good but it doesn’t taste like Caribbean food - I got jerk chicken with rice and peas and gravy. THATS NOT JERK GRAVY! That’s more like a gravy from an English stew! Chicken cooked well but doesn’t not taste like jerk chicken - more like an oven roasted bit of chicken. No jerk flavouring at all. Rice and peas in clumps???? Tasted bland - so if you’re after a non Caribbean style of jerk chicken these guys do it well

Just get yourself down here, jerk chicken half & half (half rice'n'peas, half chips) extra gravy. Staff very friendly and the food is phenomenal. Classic jamaican flavours with a northern british twist from the extra thick meaty gravy & chips.

buzz rocks review i began my journey into caribbean cuisine with a stupendous, authentic taste of ital vital curry, and not one, but two, dumplings. At first I was astonished. How could I, a measly white girl, have gone my entire life without such a flavour sensation. The potatoes were smooth, tender almost, as if they had been bathing in the warm shores of the Caribbean itself. The rice danced in my mouth alongside the decadent, soft vegetables. The flavours married in my mouth, and oh boy was it a wedding. Suddenly, madness ensued. The dumplings, warm kisses of stodge, began to besiege me. My stomach felt as if it was a medieval fortress under a barrage of infinite flavour. The vegetables were launched into my throat as if assisted by a trebuchet. The thick dumplings felt like cannonfire, and I now regretted getting two. The man in the shop in fact was impressed by my courage, however I was naive, for it was my first time. I was unprepared for the challenge ahead. I sit here now, belly full, satisfied, yet frustrated. I stare at my takeaway box with adoration, but also with fear. I am disappointed I could not complete this task. It will be finished later this eve. However, it will never quite match the first tender kiss on my tongue that Buzz Rocks gave me. Steaming hot, loving. Buzz Rocks has cleansed my soul. Henceforth, I shal devote my dying days to exploring caribbean gastronomy. I am a changed woman. In short, Buzz Rocks is mint.

The service was amazing - the family worked like a well-oiled machinery. The food was excellent and the portions were filling :) I believe the family dynamic creates a very calm and confident atmosphere that makes one feel at home. I love it here and would go back, every time I am in Manchester.

I will never ever eat there again. Really poor food, really disappointed. I will never visit this shop again. You just lost loyal customers.

Regularly make the trip over from monsall for chicken chips and gravy. Affordable way to feed everyone and always great tasting.

I eat here quite often and before I found this gem I thought I’d found a fabulous place but once I’d eaten here wow just wow never been anywhere else since well worth the 30 minutes drive. Customer service brilliant always smiles makes it a better experience and every time. I mean seeing all the celebrities pictures on the wall that have visited here must say something I here Ian brown is a regular. 10/10 for me never had a bad meal 👍🏻

Hemos comido aquí durante años, pero nos limitamos a probar y probar arroz con guisantes con pollo Jerk, salsa y verduras.Sin embargo, finalmente me diversifiqué y probé el arroz sazonado con una porción de plaintain ya que ahora no tengo gluten, estaba delicioso. Delicious, no frills chicken curry rice n peas, tastes great, priced higher than you'd expect in Hulme at £6 and mostly frequented by students however highly recommended if you're in the mood for fast & D-lish.

No puedo decir si este auténtico caribe o no ya que nunca he estado. Todo lo que puedo decir es que el estofado de pollo es una de las mejores comidas en Manchester. Parece hecho en casa, con amor y cuidado y un montón de aderezos. Mezclando el guiso con salsa de pollo es el mejor. El arroz con guisantes y verduras también hacen un lados.

Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí hace unos días y quedé muy decepcionado, el pollo al curry en polvo sosa, probado y parecía triste. El pollo Jerk no tenía kick y fue cubierta en salsa barbacoa en vez de un buen salsa. Venga chicos, que puede hacer mejor que esto, hacer realidad pollo adobado con limas, pimientos y chalotas y poner más sabores iton el curry y salsa Jerk haga un adecuado, no salsa barbacoa.

Recently I was working in Manchester by the big uni across the road we saw a big sign for subway when dinner time came we decided to head there just before we got there 2-3 shops down I saw a Caribbean take away or smelt it's enticing aroma with in minutes found myself sat down with rice and peas and stu chicken on a 3.50 meal deal being of West Indian descent I have to say BUZZROCKS food was good authentic Caribbean cooking and I fulljoyed it . one love bless.

Fresh, well seasoned, cooked to perfection caribbean food.. Their menu provides one of the best range of choices I've seen in a Caribbean restaurant. Being a self-professed foodie I eat out quite a bit (Min Jiang in Kensington last week) and this occasion was easily one of the best meals I've ever had.

The clue is in the title, get yourselves down to Buzz Rocks in Hulme you won't be disappointed! I drive from Ashton just for a bit of dinner, that's how nice it is.

I have never had Caribbean food before, but after this I would definitely go back! The chicken curry was cooked perfectly and so was the vegetables and rice and with a drink for £5 couldn't be better!

Me and a friend stopped by the Hulme Buzzrocks for lunch yesterday. Jerk chicken was fantastic. Always a great atmosphere in there too - not sure there's better Caribbean food in Manchester. We just go there every time. Buzz still rocks after all these years

I have been a customer of Buzz & the twins since Buzz was in a trailer & the twins a twinkle in his eye!! These boys know there stuff, great food, great banter!! Try the lamb soup on a cold day....WOW!! In a hurry? Grab some chicken flashes & you will have them finished in a flash!! Main events- fried chicken & jerk chicken you cannot beat the taste or the prices!! Keep up the good work fellas; nuff said;)

Called in for a takeaway when finished work on Thursday 19 December, staff are always helpful and friendly, the Jerk Chicken is to die for.

I have been to this takeaway/cafe several times, the food is of average quality, and even though I have ordered at least three different dishes, they use the same sauce. Today it was Jerk chicken, with gravy and Rice n peas, exactly the same as a brown stew chicken meal I had there before.Plenty of other better West indian food outlets in Manchester, dissapointing, seem to be living on past glory.!!!!!!

Eaten from there several times,the shop is really clean which is a bonus. The staff are also very helpful because I had no experience of Caribbean food untill I went here
