Made a booking for Feb 25 and found it’s under liquidation - no warning or cancellation email and you can still book on the website.

Reservation was confirmed but the restaurant was not open, very disappointed!

Hands down, the best chicken burger in town - the truffle mayo is to die for. Some of the staff could be nicer and pay more attention to what’s happening with the clients

The meat is not halal When Muslims come, check whether all restaurants are halal or not I see in the comments a lot of people commenting on the beef burger

Worth the hype. Very tasty chicken burgers, nice and juicy but also super crispy. One of the best I've had. Nice interior, friendly and welcoming staff.

My family and I came in as a last minute decision for my brothers birthday with another restaurant letting us down with a double booking. The two ladies at the front figured a way to accommodate us during a busy dinner period. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service matches that standard. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Overpriced imo. Hot sauce expensive (€3). Just not worth it overall.

Pretty tasty and quick service. We were struggling to find a table on a Saturday night and ended up coming across Butta Burger. It didn't disappoint. The menu isn't huge (I expected more toppings) but the burger and fries were tasty and filling. The large portion of fries is more than enough for 2 people. Ideal for a quick bite to eat.

My partner and I stopped in around 6:15 PM. The host asked if we had a reservation, to which we said no. The bartender tapped on the screen a bit and said they had no availability and apologized they couldn't take us that night. I had checked reservations earlier in the day and they had availability at all times until closing. On the walk back to the car, I pulled out my phone to check again. At 6:33, I was able to get a reservation for 6:45 (and anytime up until closing). I booked it, we turned around and walked back to the restaurant. When we arrived, I told a different hostess that we had a reservation for 6:45. The two of us were immediately seated. It did take a while before anyone came and got our order, but the rest of the experience was decent. I'm pretty upset to have been turned away the way we were and will not be returning. Burger and chips were good, but £45 for 2 people (with automatic 10% service charge) is a bit much.

After arriving delayed from our flights, we attempted several other places on George street and Butta Burger was the only one whose kitchen was still open. Lucky us, because it ended up being a delightful place to eat. Our server was very friendly and the burgers were delicious! We also got an order of the Parmesan rosemary fries that were very tasty!! Cute decor and ambience!

Really nice and rich burger, I tried the Chicken Kiev one. I'll have to come back to try the others. Pretty busy yet very nice and efficient service. Recommended 🤘🏻

It’s really disaster , just Odered one burger takeaway it’s been 25 mins all the staff was rude and they not even care and , if it is busy they should let us know about the food will be late but they not even told and no one is cared to apologise and sorry , staff behaviour is very rude , no one responded to my takeaway food , seriously I never gonna visit again , Thank you

We chose this place again on our second visit to Edinburgh. Everything was delicious. The environment is very spacious, the toilets are clean. And the employees are really friendly and caring people. I definitely recommend it.

Probably won't be back, I had a chicken burger which caused me to become ill and vomit in the evening. A staff member appeared stressed out when I initially went to order. It's also expensive when you include fries and the oPtIoNaL service charge (aka a charge to make the menu appear cheaper than it is).

Honestly some of the best burgers in Edinburgh, would 10/10 recommend the beef and onion burger for a classic really taste burger. We didn't get the shakes as we knew they would be too much 1 between two is plenty and same with chips the portions are huge.

The atmosphere was so welcoming, your staff were polite, friendly and professional and the food was amazing, this is our 2nd visit to Butta Burger and we'll definitely be back. Thank you to all!!

We had dinner on Monday 4th in the evening. We had the vegan burgers beef and chick. We were throwing up later at night. Poor quality food, too fried and for oferring vegan food, you don't really use vegetables because "they're not popular". Maybe amongst the vegan community, they are. Worst vegan options ive ever tried in my life. Considering McDonald's and burger king.

I tried Butta Burger for the first time and it was delicious. I really enjoyed my food. But I thought it was over priced for what was basically a fast food restaurant.

Food was decent and restaurant was nice. The girl who served us was great. The price was astronomically different to what I was expecting and I don’t think it’s worth it. Probably wouldn’t go back due to the price.

Our requests 1 classic beef burger was good 8/10 1 Crispy Chicken Burger, very delicious 9/10 Potatoes 4/10 The bottom of the plate was old or the oil was bad and it was definitely not fresh Regular mozzarella balls 6/10

We tried the classic burger, truffle burger, fries, and chicken tenders, and everything was incredibly tasty. The burger patties were perfectly cooked and practically melted in our mouths. The experience was fantastic, thanks to the outstanding service and friendly staff. Highly recommended for everyone! It is worth trying and its price is acceptable. It is suitable for everyone. I recommend it to you, especially the truffle burger. Do not miss it

We were previously regulars at the Butta at Quartermile and we loved that the burgers were filling and portions of sides were large. We always came away feeling stuffed and enjoyed our meals. Fast forward a wee while and now it appears Quartermile is closed so we thought we’d give the remaining George Street branch a try. When the burgers came to the table we thought they seemed much smaller in size, and the portion of chips between the two of us was much the same. The food tasted fantastic, right enough, and the serving staff couldn’t have been nicer, but I’m sadly disappointed that there’s a bout of shrinkflation going on. We were £56 for a beer (330ml can only, the selection of draught beer has been removed) & a chicken burger each, with a portion of chips between us. Sadly looks like Bucks is the place to go for filling chicken now.

The food is good. The only problem was that we were charged the tip twice. It is already included in the bill, but the ask you to leave a tip in the card machine too. My partner realised it was already included in the ticket after he pressed the10% in the machine. We ended up leaving a £8 tip that I think is too much. So, be careful.

Kind and experienced staff that give you that personal experience. Loved my burger and fries, great portion and not tired after. Definitely returning and do should you lol. Ask for Amy

Delicious burgers and sauces. If it says hot, it means really hot. Great place for lunch, but pricey.

Hamburgers are very successful. I ate a classic beef burger, price was 11 pounds. We asked for extra fries on the side, the price was 4 pounds. The potatoes are extremely delicious and came double for 2 people. The environment is nice. There are only 33 bottles of beer. Wine and soft drinks are also available. We asked for mayonnaise and hot sauce to accompany the burger, but they were charged extra for the sauce.

Get the chicken Kiev! It’s massive and messy and every bite is absolutely delicious

Bought a lovely bacon cheese burger (subbed the American cheese for the smoked cheddar) to go it was excellent, also got fries which were OK. Staff were friendly and attentive while I awaited my meal to go.

Literally just left the place and wow, the burgers are absolutely amazing! Special thanks to the Cienne and Amy for being so polite and attentive. We will be back

Booked for dinner, the place inside is very nice and well furnished. Let's move on to the food, what can I say, everything was excellent. Homemade chips, very good fried mozzarella, and a good selection of sauces to accompany everything with. The burgers are amazing, every ingredient inside is of quality and can be felt, special mention for the homemade pickles. Tried the one with pastrami and bacon cheese, excellent. Too bad I couldn't try all the others, even with the chicken. Mandatory stop if you are in Edinburgh.

Fantastic Burgers. Kiev Fingers are recommended. Beer is pretty good. Service is ok, it could have been better. Was given a high table cause we didn't have reservation but the place was empty so I didn't really get the point of that

Butta Burger did not disappoint! The wagyu truffle cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger were delish. Thoroughly recommend the spicy fries. We’d go out to out of way to come back!

I was at Butta Burger on 7/9/24 to have a meal. To start, every time someone was going to and from the toilet all you could smell was the bathroom, Was very off putting when trying to eat food. Food wasn’t great and fries could've been better.

We ate for 53.35 pounds we were 3 + 2 drinks. The burgers are good, the vegan one for me was particularly tasty. Fries are to be ordered additionally. Please note it is not possible to pay in cash, too bad because we had to sell our last deliveries today because tomorrow very early we are taking a flight to France.

Really liked the vegan haggis burger

First experience of Butta burger and really enjoyed it. Had the special wagyu burger with haggis neeps and tatties and the Korean chicken burger with kimchi and homemade hot sauce. Shared the burgers and had a portion of parmesan fries with a black garlic dip and a chicken gravy mayo which were all delish and so different to anything I have tasted before. Couldn't finish the fries. Lovely Casual dining atmosphere and the waitress we had was good.

Staff are unwelcoming and inattentive - you are made to feel like it's a disservice you are even there. It used to be our favorite burger joint, we left before anyone took our order for drinks even. The upside to living in Edinburgh ia that there are so many other places that do the same thing, I rather spend my money elsewhere - which we did, 5min walk away and had great food and service.

The sauces are also good (a slight disappointment for the BBQ) Small downside, the seats and benches are rather hard despite good backrests.

I really wanted to like Butta Burger, as the menu looked promising with some creative burger and fry combinations. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience left a lot to be desired. The positives first - the food itself was actually quite good. The burgers were tasty, with high quality ingredients and flavorful toppings. The fries were also well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. So in terms of the actual food, Butta Burger delivers. However, the service and wait times completely overshadowed the quality of the food. It took an excruciatingly long time to even place our order, with the staff seeming disorganized and slow to acknowledge customers. And once we did order, we waited over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Even when we did get our meals, the staff seemed rushed and not particularly attentive. Simple requests like refilling our drinks were neglected. It felt like the front-of-house staff were wholly unprepared to handle the volume of customers. For a burger joint, the wait times were simply unacceptable. I expect a more streamlined, efficient process, especially for the premium prices Butta Burger charges. The lack of service really took away from the enjoyment of the food. Overall, I'd give Butta Burger 2 stars. The food is good, but the excruciatingly long wait times and subpar service make it hard for me to recommend this place. I may try them again if I hear they've improved, but for now, the negatives outweigh the positives. There are too many other great burger options in the area that provide a much better all-around experience.

Waiters with little desire to work who also charge you a 10% tip by default. In the end you end up paying €17 for a burger without fries.

I had a classic Hamburger, nothing to complain about, nice and juicy. My partner though had a truffle hamburger and found it a bit heavy to finish, although very tasty.

Chicken Kiev burger is fantastic

The food is just amazing, that's why I came here so many times. However, last time I came, the service was just awful. I came for my birthday and nobody cared, then I asked about their gins and I got told to stand up and check. I mean, it's your job to tell me the 5 gins you've got. It's literally your job. Paying was hard as well, it took ages and I felt completely ignored the whole time I was there up until paying. I work in hospitality and I know what good service is, and this definitely wasn't it. I don't know if I'll come back anytime soon, or surely I won't recommend it to anybody anymore. And again, it's a big shame because the burgers are just amazing even if quite expensive.

Excellent burgers, well priced and a good meal all round. Cocktails were also excellent, and the boozy milkshakes definitely did not scrimp on the Baileys!

The staff was nice, but my review is mainly based on the food. I got a beef burger, which unfortunately was completely tasteless, soggy and expensive for that quality. I couldn’t taste the smoked cheese, nor the meat, plus there was a green sauce of a really bright and artificial colour. Fries were almost cold and stuck together. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my meal at all, but maybe it was just an unlucky experience.

Good selection of burgers, also for vegetarians

They have a really solid fried chicken sandwich (Truff Chick) perfectly breaded and cooked - I would consider adding pickles on the side to add onto it. An order of fries is definitely good for 2 people, and the Oreo shake is nice as well.

Delicious burgers, shakes and fries! We loved the truffle and Parmesan fries and 1 order was plenty for our 3 adults to share. The strawberry cheesecake and Oreo shakes tasted great as well! Great service and ambience. In the words of my daughter- “It was Bussin’ Bussin’!”

Went for some lunch with family and friends. Daisy was very attentive and friendly. Made us feel very welcome. AJ made us margaritas which my brother tells me were the best he has had since Mexico.

Food was nice enough but extremely expensive for what is essentially a fast food place. Service was relatively quick and attentive but our waitress was pretty rude at some points.
