We are often visitors to Butler's Cafe at Kirkstall and always enjoy the warm friendly atmosphere created by the brilliant staff. The service is excellent, as is the delicious, well presented tasty food. The cafe is dog friendly ,which is a BIG bonus for us.

Was charged completely incorrect price for a sub standard sandwich and chips and tried to query it with staff at the time but non negotiable. Afterwards when I contacted the management I got a very defensive email with no apology. Sadly won’t be going again as their “don’t care less” attitude has put me off. Shame

I go to Butler's a great deal and have a loyalty card for a free coffee every seven visits. Their cappuccinos are some of the best in Horsforth in my view. The young staff are always very courteous and polite. I love the environment because I take my laptop and connect to the internet spending an hour and a half there mosty days. The internet connection is always superb. I'd really miss Butler's if it wasn't there.

Just off the Leeds/Liverpool Canal and opposite Kirkstall Forge station, it's the perfect pit-stop whilst walking dogs. Yes, it's dog-friendly and yes you can take them inside. Obviously, only take your dogs in if you are confident in their behaviour. Not fair or respectful to other diners if your dog is an incessant yapper. Fair choices and reasonable prices for lunch. They do breakfast options until 11.00am. Great buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. They had to check if they had any left. Not surprised. The real McCoy. None of that frozen preformed nonsense. I agree with comments that the coffees could be a bit stronger but that's a minor point. I didn't mind ordering and being given a bleeper. Up to you whether you stand and wait or go find a seat and wait for the bleep. Having two dogs with us, we chose to sit and wait. Bleeper bleeped within five minutes. The cafe is the basement level to an office block; very modern, very light and airy with plenty of choice of seating be it workstation style (with power and USB sockets) or lower armchairs with a low table. I'm pretty sure they do provide outside seating at times as we saw blankets by the door. Be nice if they always had outside seating e.g. picnic benches but maybe there's a reason.

Avoid! Awful food, rude staff. Order the food at the till, then wait for your drink, then go and sit down and wait for your food via a alarm pad. Go and get your own food and cutlery and then go and tip it away. Little better than a canteen!

Friendly, helpful staff always with a smile who go out of their way to give you the best service. I have eaten here plenty of times - had my 70th birthday afternoon tea - absolutely fab and plenty to of variety of things to eat. Real china too. Perfect. Wish though that you were open on a w/e even up to late morning !! This review based on my Birthday in July. But come here often.

Came across this place by chance. Had a lovely bacon sandwich 🥪. I also had an Americano. Unfortunately it was quite weak. I would have given 5 stars, had the coffee been better. Pleasant place to have a coffee, nice staff.

This place is a real gem. If you’re passing or need somewhere for a quick business meeting I highly highly recommend. The atmosphere is lovely - beautifully calm, light and airy. The food is always lovely and the team are very friendly. They get busy at lunchtimes, so you might have to wait a short while to order, but for a breakfast, morning coffee and quick snack I think this place is perfect. I use Butlers as my “go to” meeting place these days. The lunch menu changes regularly and there are lots of vegetarian options also. Full English breakfast also highly recommended. Final thought - when a lot of places you meet colleagues or friends are getting “cost of living” expensive, this place shines even more. It’s great value considering the quality of the food they prepare. Oh, and they bake insane cakes ! Please don’t all turn up though. I like it as it is. 😜

Whilst walking along the Rodley Canal my wife and I came across a sign post for Butlers Cafe which the path led us down to the Kirkstall Forge railway station and then over the bridge to the office building to Butlers Cafe. We arrived to be very surprised about the cleanliness and the bright surroundings of the cafe. We were greeted by pleasant staff, place our order, my choice was a bacon roll and latte, my wifes choice was toasted fruit loaf and cappuccino. Reasonably priced, great service, pleasant surroundings. When ever in the area would recommend a visit. Excellent salads served at lunch time, but you should arrive at 12.00pm otherwise you might be disappointed.

A morning on the canal while the girls practiced on their bikes was broken up by our first visit to Butler's. Lovely seating area, beautiful flat white and cracking cakes. It is a shame we have things for lunch at home as the food on display, particularly the burgers look amazing and the prices are very reasonable for hot food. We will return for lunch before long now that we've discovered this gem

The variety and choices at every meal service is great. The choice of bread and detail of sandwich fillings is amazing. This is one of the best railway food restaurant/cafes to pop in and enjoy a great coffee, cake or sit down lunch. The staff are part of the deal, they are helpful, knowledgable and so keen to give you the best experience. Please go back and retry if your early days seemed less than satisfactory, I think you’d be very pleased you did. Well done Butlers Team

I have now visited butlers cafe on a number of occasions with my 2 toddlers and I have to say they have been so welcoming and helpful I just had to write a review singing their praises! The food is great quality, the salad bar is lovely huge portion and very good price. They do some ‘kid friendly ‘ food also and provide games and books to keep them entertained. When I’ve asked for ice cream - ice cream has been provided even when not on the menu. Just the staff are so attentive that for me this makes all the difference. This is a hidden gem and so worth a visit. I just wish it was open on he weekend. Thank you butlers !

Visited Butlers for the first time today for coffee and cake with my daughters, grandson and grand-dog Yummy North Roast coffee and cupcake. Lovely welcoming staff. The manager has great plans for this lovely place. Everything is homemade and local. Very good prices for lunch and they are also open for breakfast

The Butlers team are so friendly and really know their food. Always fresh salads and home cooked hot food at very reasonable prices this place is a must. Only open Mon to Friday Breakfast and Lunch at the moment to service the daytime office trade and passers by but as Kirkstall Forge develops it is sure to the best place to eat for dinner too.

We live nearby, and have visited a few times. But the most recent visits have kept us coming back over and over again. Let me explain. So, it must be over a year ago now we came for food and it was a bit lacking....

Popped in here while waiting for a train. Coffee and venue were good. Sausage sandwich I ate was probably the worst I’ve ever had. Cremated sausages and poor quality meat. If anywhere else opens nearby they will do well as they won’t have much competition

Used to be lovely but new owners don’t have a clue. Whilst the food is okay, everything else has gone down hill. Menu wise I’d suggest you advertise a quiche as a quiche, not a tart. You don’t stand a chance of hearing your party, the acoustics are shocking. As for the clientele it’s full of screaming and I mean screaming brats. So if you fancied a nice relaxing lunch with friends, I’d suggest somewhere else because it won’t happen. And the owners don’t care, that’s the sad part. Perhaps you need to advertise that you are more of a crèche than an overpriced cafe.

Called in for drinks, one weekend night out. I thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing, as I used to come here clubbing 20 odd years ago. Brilliant atmosphere & choice of drinks. Superb building too. Will be back again sometime soon hopefully ...

Lovely old pub, I've been going for years, sadly can only give a one star review for now as I've recently witnessed the new landlord speak to customers like dirt.

Buena comida, buena relación calidad-precio, gente encantadora a cargo, un entorno agradable, recomendaría totalmente el café BLT a cualquiera.
