Butchers Arms in Wakefield

If you considering going to the butcher's on a Thursday be wary as the bingo associates are a force to be wreckened with, with old woman arguing amongst themselves and a certain woman called Valerie getting drunk to a point where she shouts random bingo numbers and puts scooter on the juke box to upset the regulars. There's always a character in there to keep you on your toes, like a mad Maggie, a spewie, and various old women who moan if you win bingo, what a night. Just remember to try not make any noise whilst bingo is on and try not to win.

It Was a Thursday evening when my grandma went into a uncontrollable fit of rage as we was 10 minutes late to the bingo, she carried this rage through out the evening yelling and blasting abuse at the other customers enjoying there night. When she won she threw her pint in the air in excitement and with in that arguments in the pub started. With in a hurry aswell at the end she reached for the juke box and decided to que 12 different scooter songs. I’ve been told by the regulars this is just a usual Thursday evening, roll on next Thursday.

My mother in law takes me here on a Sunday for the exciting bingo.she sat with her friends drinking lots of wine shouting and carrying on.then we had to carry her home.roll on next week

Great traditional pub full of characters. Excellent jukebox, and decent priced ales. A great afternoon or evening to be had.

Called in with the pool team for a match. Really friendly place, staff were great and we had a good evening in spite of the gobby bloke at the end of the bar. Looking forward to calling up next time we have a match.

Had a great day, I liked the bar maid. We had eye contact, but I don't even get to know her name. Lovely long blonde hair.

It's ok but prices too high for an estate pub .

Found this pub when I came out of Pinderfields hospital and everybody in there including owners and people just drinking are the best people iv ever met they are lovely drinks are good service is good music is good all round top place

Always had a friendly atmosphere. Bar staff are friendly and welcoming. It's only place I'll ever go for a drink. As everyone is always friendly and nice.

It's great for a day out with the lads

Nice friendly down to earth pub with nice bar staff. Good value drinks and not too busy most of the time. Much better than the pretentious pubs that are starting to open locally and significantly better service than the Six Chimneys.

Top place to go, And friendly and relaxing atmosphere and the best pint of carling for miles.
