We visited the hotel for a spa day. The location is gorgeous with beautiful views. The building is very clean and well kept. The reception lets you through a barrier to the Spa and gym..We are always looking for a relaxing space to sit and chill in our robes but the spa does not include a place or room for this. However we had coffee in the bar before getting changed. We opted for the children's play area seats as it was lighter there and we could see the view. The bar looks onto the pool but there is frosted glass half way up the window which I think is a great idea.We were shown into the changing room and given an electronic key for the lockers but these seemed very tempremental. There was a keep fit class in the pool so we went in the steam room which was lovely.Sometimes these get very hot but this one was just right .We had our light lunch in the bar and went to the spa area upstairs for a treatment. The waiting place for treatment was very nice..subdued lighting with artificial candles surrounding us.This would have been an ideal relaxing area.A few screens could convert this. The treatment was excellent. The room was very comfortable. I had a body brush followed by a massage.

I stay in hotels on average 2 nights per week. I always look for 3 things: location to where I am staying, a gym for the treadmill, and a nice breakfast to get me through the day. On arriving, I was greeted by a receptionist that, as usual, kindly asked my name. After giving her my name and finding my booking, there was a change in behaviour. She turned quite cold. She told me quite directly my room number and that it is in the building out there as she pointed around the corner towards the building. She then asked if I’d like to ad breakfast for my stay. I replied I thought it was already on when I booked. She said quite sharply, 'no because you haven't booked directly and you don’t get that benefit. It’s £12 per day for breakfast.” Of course, I declined, and this wasn't just because of the cost difference. It was more the tone and rudeness of brushing me off because I didn't book directly. I followed up by asking if I am still okay to use the facilities. She said this time with a smile and not a happy one that it’s £20 per night for the facilities as you didn’t book directly and then just looked at me as if to say, “Unlucky.” Again, I stay in hotels a lot. This is very rare. What hotels like this do not realise is that most of the time we find them through searching through booking sites. We have our first experience through them, and when we enjoy the stay, we use the facilities, we enjoy nice food, and it sets us up for the day. We remember that and call the hotel to book next time around. The booking companies do a first introduction. It’s then over to the hotel to make sure we enjoy our stays and are asked to save money and book directly next time with rewards and incentives. This is very common, and I do it a lot, but to be penalised in such a rude, cold manner and feel like I’m being thrown in the cheap, dated room in the outbuilding with nowhere to go, with nothing to do for 2 days, makes me feel like an unwelcome paying guest. Needless to say, I won’t be staying again, and I will have to find another one in the area that has more time and respect for its guests. It has potential, but attitudes need to change. In addition, there was a lot of dust in the mugs.

I went here with work colleagues for our Christmas party night. We had a 3 course meal and were entertained by Billy Pierce. The food was tasty, and Billy had us laughing the whole time he was on stage! We found the staff to be friendly and they worked really hard in what was a very busy night! The night would have been even better if there were fewer tables and space to have a dance at the end. Overall we had a great night and would definitely book another party or theme night.

Went for a wedding we booked a wheelchair friendly room as my wife is in a wheelchair. The room was OK, nothing special. There were two heavy doors between reception and the bedrooms, which meant that she could not get to the room without someone to help. The venue The Cube is not wheelchair friendly due to stairs. You have to go up the narrow driveway and through the restaurant next door to get in, and you can't get to the dance floor due to stairs. There are electric car chargers, but they are in the staff parking area and are therefore blocked by none electric staff cars. We could also not get to the breakfast area without going through another wedding area due yet again to stairs.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting and I’m not being dramatic. The dark wood furniture was worn, there was no main light just two lamps, stains on ceiling, damage to door, dirty carpets, threadbare & dusty headboard, filthy shower head. The hairdryer in the bathroom was from the 1960’s. I complained and was initially told there was no alternative room available. I was then offered an accessible room and when I complained to Sharon the manager she had the audacity to blame booking.com for the cut they take from the room rate. It was only when I asked Sharon if she would stay in the room when I showed her the photographs that she finally agreed to throw in a free breakfast. I had originally booked a year previously for a family wedding and had no choice but to stay. It was the dirtiest room I have stayed in and you get second rate treatment if you book through booking.com. On returning home I have tried to contact the hotel to request a partial refund as I had paid £270 for two nights. I was complete ignored. Please avoid this hotel as any complaints are not listened to and if you get Sharon you will experience the worst customer service I have experienced.

Disapointing, don't be tricked into thinking this is a good spot for a family break. I recently stayed at Burntwood Court Hotel with my family and unfortunately, our experience was not as advertised. From the start, it was clear that this hotel is not family-friendly at all. When we arrived, our room felt like a sauna. The heating rail was on full blast and even with the windows open, the heat was unbearable. The staff were unable to turn the heating off and told us we needed to speak to Sharron, the manager, but she wasn't available. When we returned and tried to find Sharron, I spoke to a lady who only confirmed she was in fact Sharron at the end of our conversation despite me asking multiple times. This behavior was extremely rude. Although she was able to turn the heating off, the room was already unbearably hot. Being a Friday and Saturday night, wedding discos were in full blast until late, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The amenities advertised were also misleading. We were told that for my wife, my two-year-old, and I to use the pool on a Saturday, it would cost an additional £50 on top of our already inflated weekend stay costs. We decided to check out the soft play instead, only to find it didn't open until 11:30 am, which, as anyone with kids will know, is not convenient. We then tried to find the play park, which was all locked up. Breakfast was average, but I've had better at a Travelodge for half the price. The room was spacious but dated, although it was clean. Most of the staff were friendly, but our overall experience was disappointing. We chose this hotel over cheaper options due to its advertised pool and soft play, thinking it was a good family choice to keep our two-year-old entertained. Unfortunately, it failed to meet even the basic expectation of providing a good night's sleep. In conclusion, Burntwood Court Hotel may be suitable if you're attending a wedding or event, but it is certainly not the place to go for leisure with a family. We were bitterly disappointed and wouldn't recommend it for a family stay.

This is a good hotel but was let down a little by a few details. The annex room was large and spacious and the bed was comfortable. However, despite looking out onto the road, we had no net curtains so had to shut the main curtains to change or have any privacy. Also, there is no hook on the back of the door for an outdoor coat or on bathroom door for a washbag and no instructions for the heating, though I worked it out. There was also no comfy chair in the room dedpite having lots of space for one. The reception staff were courteous and professional but their greeting lacked the usual Yorkshire warmth. There were two working charging points (out of four) but the spaces outside the Annex were marked "staff parking" and the cars parked there were not charging or even electric which was frustrating. To end on a positive note, the breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and the staff were friendly and helpful. So, in summary, it was a good hotel, but fixing a few small points like the net curtains and use of charging points would make it much better.

I loved my stay here. Peaceful , quiet and with a really good leisure facility. Best hotel gym with free weights , squat rack and deadlift platform. Aldo had a good assortment of machines and cardio equipment. Loved the pool area, too. Would definitely recommend it. It does cost extra to use but given that you can go back and forward from it all day its really worth it .

Had a very relaxed night in the hotel. Lovely rural location means it was very quiet; room was spacious and tasteful. Large bathroom with an excellent shower. Staff were all incredibly polite and helpful. Breakfast was what you'd expect for the style of hotel, well made with a good selection.

Thoroughly enjoyed this delectable luncheon. I had Chicken Balls and Chips as I am a very adventurous chap when it comes to asian cuisine. Upon entering, a gorgeous chap with the name Raymond greeted me with a hearty smile and a fine welcome. The store was quietly playing Love Sosa by Chief Keef which provided a quaint and pleasant atmosphere that was great to experience. The speed getting my grub was more than sufficient, and was hot and sexy. Would most definitely recommend this gem in the pristine Darton scenery, and would love to speak to the striking chap at the counter again, as the conversation provided was simply exquisite.
